  • After becoming an x-ray tech you have the option to get certificates in additional modalities. Computed Tomography (CT) is one of those options!

      My school allowed me to choose my hours so I curated my schedule to fit my needs. 😁

      Thank you! Yes, CT techs in general will get paid more for having an additional modality added to their license.

    I'm interested in this field, loove your videos and where do you get your eyebrows done?

    • @SydneyPipp
      @SydneyPipp  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for hanging out with me! I just go over my eyebrows with brow pencil.. since this video I have switched to a lighter shade to give a less dramatic effect.

    Finally your videos helps a lot. Can you please tell me, how to get register as a radiographer in Australia. I plan to do my pg course abroad as well.

    • @SydneyPipp
      @SydneyPipp  2 года назад

      In America, individuals that want to become a radiographer need to go through a college radiologic technology program for two years in order to receive an associates degree. Then they are able to sit for their registry (220 question test) to become registered and have the ability to work as a radiographer. I’m not sure if Australia has the same route but I can’t imagine it being much different.

    What state did you take your Rad Tech program in? Im in Texas but there's only 2 properly accredited programs local to me and am just trying to do as much research as I can before applying to one of their programs. I already work in a hospital.

      My program is in Ohio. We had many students relocate or commute throughout the program. It is worth it!

    Hopefully I’ll be starting rad tech school in 2023. What is the grossest things you have to do and see in this field, Along with CT?

      Level 1 trauma centers will give you the gore but personally I find the smell of feces to be the worst part of this field.

    What is the work schedule like?

    • @SydneyPipp
      @SydneyPipp  8 месяцев назад +2

      I created my own schedule for school. Once you start working there are either 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts throughout the day or night. Some hospitals have specific weekend techs and others have to rotate to cover one weekend per month.

    Tell me about PET VS CT

    • @SydneyPipp
      @SydneyPipp  4 месяца назад

      PET scans are performed by nuclear medicine technologists so it is a different program entirely. They use a radioactive tracer to determine if cancer has spread to different parts of the body. CT scan uses X-rays to visualize anatomy in 3 different planes or views. CT can identify tumors present within the body but we only scan one area at a time so if we found a tumor in the abdomen we wouldn’t also see tumors in the bones of the leg or brain.

    what is it CT school?? 😅

      CT also known as CAT scan. It's a type of medical imaging to view anatomy in 3D slices rather than a 2D x-ray.

    @1:48, Sad to hear an health worker and mother speaks like this. A child does not have to resemble like one of your own to feel any sympathy toward them. Do you give better care to child who looks more like any of yours?

    • @SydneyPipp
      @SydneyPipp  2 года назад +5

      I feel sympathy for all of my patients and treat them all with the same level of respect and care. However, when you’re performing an exam on a patient that directly resembles your child it is more challenging to create an emotional barrier. It is also more heartbreaking when the cause of death is either unknown or due to abuse. My previous patient for a similar exam was a known accident and therefore their death was easier for me to process.
