I'm so happy that you found a family to take care of the dogs while you sail on and you didn't have to actually "give up" the dogs. What a blessing for you and them.
They will be sad for a little bit as they will miss you, but when you get back they will b so excited to see y’all!! Good job Collin! What a wonderful life you chose! ❤❤
This account deserves so much more attention. You give such concise explanations of stuff that us land-folk wouldn't normally understand! As always: viva Panama! And I hope wherever you are now (months after this video was posted) is providing juuuuust enough action to keep things exciting but not too much to be stressful. Long live SV Parlay!
I can’t explain how much your Sunday videos mean to me. I have wanted to sail since I was 35 and never had the chance to do it again once we moved from Australia. I keep you in my prayers that you will be safe as you continue your journey home. It is a great trip to share with your friends, and a great lifetime memory for them.
Im so happy following your channel Colin, because I know for sure we have crossed paths, as I say I saw you in Samanà in Dominican Republic, looking forward to follow your journey onwards blessings on your way to Aotearoa, " Haera ra safe sailing
I’ve a friend who recently settled on Great Barrier Island… who built his 41 ft sloop from scratch…over many years. My ♥️ goes out to you getting to finally sail home. Enjoy!
Sunday morning with Parlay and a cup of coffee. My routine for the last couple years (I’m sure I’m not alone). Thank you Colin for relaxing mornings (and some not so relaxing). You always seem to help kick off my Sundays in a good mood. 👍
Hope the trip to New Zealand went well. Look forward to watching more videos of your trip home. Your dog's will be fine , they are going to enjoy a long holiday.
Ended up here after seeing Colin on Below Deck. This is an amazing trip and a lovely video to watch with a morning coffee. Greetings and best wishes from the UK!
You guys are very brave I have been around boats all my life and have motored around the San Juan Islands in gale force winds and seas, but would never venture out into the middle of the pacific( to chicken) I will just live the adventure following you guys, stay safe cheers guys:)
Great episode as always! It was heart-warming to see your childhood friends join the crew on this important milestone and stretch to New Zealand - and that they have followed your journey and how proud they are of what you have accomplished. You are a true inspiration! ❤
❤ great video, I'm learning so much from your videos, that marlin was awesome, the crew seems great and Colin is a bloody good skipper! I've got to do this one day!
Your adventures never seem to amaze me. Sorry about your dogs ,but you did a great job of finding them a wonderful retreat 🐾!! Well done Colin and crew!! Fair winds⛵️
Must have been so hard giving up the pups for 6 months.. People who dont own dogs wont understand its like saying goodbye to your family.. They bring so much happiness and joy. Im glad they're gonna have a good home and lots of room to run around. Another great video, let the journey continue!
Great video parley so sad about the dogs not with you Stay safe out there can’t wait to see Colin when he arrives in new Zealand with all the tears & sweet he put in to the boat with all the crew
COLIN❤ Just watched your whole series again. The new Intro and editing is much better. The sound is better and the music is not so jarring as it used to be. A smoother experience 😊. Your videos and storytelling has improved and sometimes i wish the videos were longer. I'm going to miss not seeing the dogs, but hopefully you'll visit many beautiful places and see some more animals and creatures. Hope you have a wonderful visit with your family. You ARe AMAZING ❤
It's tough to leave a paradise like Tonga and your loving dogs. I have seen that trip before from Tonga to New Zealand and it can be a bear but home is home so bon voyage!
to get your bros on board to share this with is massive and for sure a memory you all will never forget keep the vids coming enjoy them every Monday morning cheers team
Hello Colin, I am mostly motor boat person but watching you guys (you, Jemmie and rest) and your vlogs from the beginning. You are so skilled, hardworking guy. And your love for your dogs overwhelms me. I am 62 yo, I lost my German Sheppard (14 yo) almost 2 years ago and still I missing him a lot. I know what you feel by leaving them, they are not dogs, they are part of the family. I look forward the episode when you reunite (or maybe you already did, as those episodes are time delayed). Cheers from Florida
Colin as usual another fantastic video I can't wait for the next one. You are having the greatest high school reunion I could ever imagine. This trip will be EPIC !
Thanks for the video, folks!! Always a sad time when you leave pets behind, but they are going to be well taken care of by the look of it! All the best for a good week ahead! Nice to see friends from New Zealand arrive to help and visit out. Hi Brit from Canada!! 😀😀
my high school woodwork teacher was completely boring when it came to telling his "alleged' stories of sailing . this video made sailing sound very interesting indeed . Thank you :)
260 videos?!! Holy cow.. that puts it into perspective (since I’ve been riding along from home). It’s been a long road. Excited to see you sail Parlay into home.
Outstanding ! i have been watching every episode, just not commenting as much. Just wanted to say Thanks soooo much, for brining us along on your epic journey.
I wasn't sure I could watch this vid of the fur kids being left behind for 5 months, but then I remembered the time I flew home to Aus for my Dad for 6 months, to help look after him thru his cancer. I left my dog and cat/business/ home for 6 months with friends. And it was certainly worth it. they'll be fine, and it will be a great reunion in 5 months time.
Okay I'm good to go... I have had my Sunday fix!! LOL I am always so amazed about reefs in the middle of the ocean!!! What I wouldn't give to be able to experience it. Thank you...thank you at least I can through your eyes. It's just so beautiful and cool!
Another great episode. I wouldn't listen people's comments about dogs as this is your life and your family to see. Loved your lobster hunt😊. Be safe out there. Looking forward to next episode.
It’s sad that you had to leave your lovely dogs behind you will miss him a lot. Good show in watching you since day one good sailing Jack from Australia🙏🇦🇺
Colin you are doing it in the middle of the offical Cyclone season, which runs from September to May every year, most people clear the Islands by the end of September for this reason.
Bro!! You nailed the night shot! I could feel it! Not usual to catch the split s3cond f**** panic!! Love everything you have put out, but this one shows growth in skills🙌

I truly hope that they are thriving in their new environment!!! Just a thought (if you can do this) mail clothing items to where they are staying that has your scent on it as often as possible and hopefully that will comfort them until your return.
I look forward to each new video to see how you guys are doing. Your pups may not want to return to the boat after running around on land lol. Praying for safe travels to your home. See ya next week!
Hey mate, thoroughly enjoying your channel. Just 1 thing about the Weetbix...try it with Vegemite and peanut butter. When you are in far North Queensland you and your crew are welcome for a proper South African BBQ (braai) . Cheers mate and crew, may the winds be kind.
I hope both Lindo and Mcfly have the best time on Tonga. It is sad that they couldn't stay with you. It sucks that certain breeds have a bad reputation. I've been around pitties my whole life, giving them love, and they will give it back 10 fold. Have a blast at Minerva Reef, and safe sailing past Fiji and the cyclone you've mentioned. Great channel! I've done this passage to New Zealand 16 times, a couple of times from Tonga mostly from Fiji and Vanuatu but I've never stopped at McNervous reef! It's an appropriate name for Minerva reef, as this passage can be the most challenging for people crossing the Pacific and folks will stop there fretting the notorious open ocean passage to come. Sometimes better to just tackle it in one go! on a slowish boat one Gale is almost guaranteed!
