Thank you for this balanced review. Often Panerai reviews have a lot of overblown pre-conceived positive or negative bias rather than evaluating the watch itself. Personally, I am a fan of the brand history and design language, but find that the references I like most simply don’t fit my wrist. That’s fine. I think it’s possible to enjoy a brand from afar. I appreciate your review because it helps me do exactly that. Cheers!
I really like the design, but 45mm is rather large, sadly. The ETA/Unitas cal 6497 can also be found in a much smaller package: inside the Chronoswiss CH6326. This 38mm watch also features an exhibition case back. The caliber is not as tuned as the version in the Panerai, meaning it doesn't hack and doesn't have a chronometer certification. Still very nice though and you get the interesting Regulateur dial.
What size of rubber strap you using? Mine just installed with 26/22. Is the strap rubbed the case? Seems like the strap touching the case same like my radiomir. Is your watch get scratches?
Hey there, I borrowed this from a friend to I'm not based place to answer this query - however I don't remember any scratches from the rubber strap when I handled the watch.
So, which brand can we call the "Lancia of watches". I think this is a good question, right? (maybe Longines? Starts with an "L"! 😋) True fact though, there is always something about Panerai (and Alfa Romeo of course!). I'd say something primitive and elagantly simple. And raw to the bone! Not the price and the hype. Just the design. As for size... never mind! 😜 Thanks for the review mate, be well, cheers.
For this price we can buy a real beautifull watch....i don t like the second hand at nine, the plastic strap,....i like the panerai but this model no...thznk you esjborn for this review..
The Unitas Movement is a renowned workhouse, but, oh so cheap. And that's its problem. Decades-old and universally used at too many price points. It's just Panerai's usual laziness.
Silly comment imo. This is the perfect movement for the Radiomir. Panerai has worked wonders with the finishing, the bridge work, and the upgrades. So much so that it is barely recognisable. If you look at the earliest Radiomir with the Rolex movement, they are uncannily alike and hence the display case back to show off the ‘retro’ movement, albeit with a far higher degree of finishing.
It doesn't look too big. And it's a classic timeless design.

Thanks so much, that’s exactly what I aimed for so appreciate your feedback 😊👍🏻
Yes, this is the one I am looking for:)
Beautiful watch! It screams retro, functionality and simplicity. Thx for the review.
Thanks for your comment, this is the one Panerai I’d quite like to own 😊
@@EsbjornWristwatchReviews good choice. I like the new pam1312.
I just took my 00183 out of the safe after a few months of hibernation. This was the first Radiomir that I ever bought. It is definitely a keeper.
I like it a lot 👍🏻

Hello, I'm looking for the same bracelet for my PAM.
Is it 26 mm wide?
Hey there! I can't help you with more info than what's in the video, I borrowed this to review from a friend and don't have it at hand, sorry :)
I would compare it to a Maserati for your wrist

Ah, it'd have to be a REALLY special watch to be called the Lancia of watches! Thanks mate
Normies? Hahaha, we don't use that term for people who are not into watches. Good one!
Haha, we’ll they are the normal people that don’t spend way too much money on these things 😉

Thanks Josè! I’ve never been a huge fan but it’s been an eye opener handling one. I’m unlikely to buy one but I have a new appreciation 👍🙂

….and also pretty common in the watch world where so many movements are derivative of ETA 2824. Thanks for watching!
