A young Donald Trump (Sebastian Stan), eager to make his name as a hungry second son of a wealthy family in 1970s New York, comes under the spell of Roy Cohn (Jeremy Strong), the cutthroat attorney who would help create the Donald Trump we know today. Cohn sees in Trump the perfect protégé-someone with raw ambition, a hunger for success, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to win.

Stan gets a lot of mannerisms and little things spot on.
All of them. It's absurd.
Hos voice doesn’t work
@@1TightMinute It matches younger Trump ,he used to speak like that.
Damn right!... and these three rules he really applies them!
He's way more coherent than trump though.
The man is a chameleon…. Stan is upping his game all over the place.
the actions and mannerism is absolutely spot on but if he would have changed his voice around to sound like trump this would be the most spot on impersonation of DT
I get your point, but in my opinion Trump’s voice is so peculiar that if Stan tried to impersonate it too much it would sound fake, almost more like an SNL impression than an actual portrayal… for the tone this movie goes for I prefer it this way
Stan has the young Trump voice pretty close.
He has his speech pattern down very close. Mannerisms too
Sebastian Stan proves himself as a formidable actor with this performance. I had no desire to watch this film, but seeing these clips and his acting, I’ll definitely watch the movie.
The music at the end of this scene reminds me of Scarface’s music when Al Pacino finally takes a dive into the pool after getting shot in the back.
I was thinking more when Tony Montana goes to Frank Lopez’s house right after he murdered him to pick up his wife Elvira (Michelle Pfeiffer) and then he looks out the window and sees a blimp flashing the phrase “The World Is Yours”. I’m thinking this movie did something similar with young Trump looking out the window and seeing the American flag.
@@jsphat81that’s exactly what I was thinking. I bet there was some intention here for a call back to that scene
I knew I recognized it from somewhere. Definitely Scarface, I am not sure which scene this was a call-back to, but it definitely is one. Probably on purpose.
Both Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong are nominated for Oscars for their roles, as they were for the Golden Globes
he does a good prime-era trump tbh. trump didnt always talk like he does nowadays
I've seen some old interviews...He was much more measured with what he said and def did not gesticulate as much as nowadays.
@@martinregular5003 yeah but he still had the Queens accent
Since at least the early ‘80s to now, he’s overused the word ‘tremendous’.
@@UncleEbenezer77tremendous, wonderful, terrific are words he uses at least 20 times a day 😂😂😂
That was something I noticed too, when I came across some old interviews. Very different to nowadays. I'm curious to know how that happened.
His mannerisms are so good! It's like a Trump impression, but rather than exaggerating he just mimics him perfectly from the way his hands move to the way he purses his lips.
whoa yeah crazy its almost like hes an actor or something
2 minutes in and it’s already one of the best Trump portrayals I’ve seen. Even if the voice doesn’t quite match, the mannerisms are perfect. Mad respect Seb Stan
i agree its great - people go too comical its much better this way
It’s good that the voice doesn’t match, that’s what makes it not look like a parody
The way he moves his lips when he speaks…so believable
Absolutely terrifying performance
AND NOW HES YOUR PRESIDENT 🎉
@ Not my president lol I live in France
Watching this it’s insane to think that this is The Winter Soldier from Captain America.
What a great actor
Bro!! Sebastian Stan tramsformed. I only saw Big D. Wow!!..Oscar is getting heated now!! I thought maybe Challomete.. not sure now. And Adrien Brody. Holy shit!
Wow the way Stan does the eyes...just crazy acting.
Sebastian Stan is a beast! Haven’t watched the movie yet, but from the clips, he’s nailed it! Hope the screenplay of the movie isn’t agenda driven but I’ll watch this movie!
I saw the movie in theaters and I described his performance as “eerie”. Because you see him gradually adopt the grandiose attitude, the posture, he does the lip thing Trump does. He must’ve studied Trump’s micro expressions like crazy because his facial movements were Trump.
Stan´s performance is just excellent.
Stan is very good at getting the little things right, like how he says “supawtive” at 1:28 (which is exactly how Trump says it)
I'm getting a bit of a Scarface vibe in this scene, esp with that great music.
Sebastian Stan nailed it at 2:18. That's exactly how and what Trump would say
Damn. That is some excellent acting.
Donald J Trump - greatest genius of last 50 years
I believe Trump is a genius wrapped in an odd character. ❤
It’s like watching Tony Montana talk to Sosa when the dude is hung from the helicopter, same vibe.
They should’ve played the celebrity apprentice theme at the end, talk about missed opportunity
Love the Scarface reference in the end!
Sebastian Stan is the man. Whether he plays Luke or the Donald, he's amazing.
Im watching this one clip at a time....lol
😂 same bro
If he doesn't deserve an Oscar, I don't know who does.
I don't disagree, but you just know the person it is based on will want to run away with ALL the attention. He'll make it look like HE won the Oscar ot whine about how he deserves a special one for himself..... And that's the LAST thing the world needs... Ugh!
Probably Adrien Brody for The Brutalist.
This is why businessman needs to learn sales
damn Bucky, looking good aye
this movie looks good! love the acting!
Bucky ?
Id be damn proud of this performance if i was Trump. Sebastian Stan gives one for all the time in this one. They knew just what to do with this gold. It didn't have a strong narrative, but it was very competently made.
The close-up at the end was to show us his make-up.
He's got that side profile spot on.
I just got done listening to the audiobook of the art of the deal. His three rules from this scene are not in the book.
You either born a sociopath or you're not. It's good to be a sociopath. Feels good man.
Do you speak from experience? Are you a sociopath?
Imagine if they had cast Shane Gillis
I feel like all Stan had to do to get the part was show up with Don’s hair and move his face around just like Trump.
And I’m not complaining.
Some parts of this scene I literally think Im looking at the real Donald trump for a second
I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a biopic where the actor actually moved their face to mimic the facial mannerisms of the person. Even Austin Butler didn’t do the famous lip curl that Elvis was famous for.
Is this him?
No
Great and true portrait of Trump. No matter if u like the guy or not, u have to admit that even he doesn't have brains he's got the cunning and balls with drive to win.
Where's the famous Queens accent?
He obviously doesn't need it.
1:36 what’s up with his eyes!? They almost look CGI…if that’s all him that’s insane!!!
Why not make a movie about pizza gate or frazzle drip? Where producers could help expose politicians that are human trafficking little kids?
Scarface theme???
This movie was fantasy
Trump is gonna be on Mount Rushmore in 50 years max.
Interesting.
Sounds nothing like him - looks and acts like him, but the decision to not change voice is a mistake
Trump's three rules are crucial for anyone entering the proverbial arena-he's probably right that some people are simply born with the urge to compete and fight their way to the top. Others, like myself, would rather take a different path-get a good job, build a family, and enjoy a peaceful life.
Stan is mewing.

Thanks a bunch Seth Meyers. I blame you
Trump is the Winter Soldier.
I'm so confused now.
a con man out and out .. lies and bluster..

No wonder people votes Trump. He's the Winter Soldier
Donald
wow
What made me laugh is that bit about having thick skin, he like has the thinnest skin in the world.
this looks terrible. like a school play. wtf
Hi Toronto! I see you, University Avenue!
this movie was a flop
Satan ;-)
😮💨More Trump hate...don't you people ever stop.
Terrible trump impression
I can see why no one has heard of this crazy liberal masterpiece....
its so biased but the acting is so good at the same time
@@harrisonc985What are the examples of bias?
@ the forced lines about “welfare queens” and “blacks”

HAIL to our new dictator TRUMP ✊🏻🇺🇸👌🏻✝️
Isnt a dictator is someone who abuses there power against the people?
@ nope. That doesn’t apply to Trump
@@cranklabexplosion-labcentr8245
Get a cigarette and wait...
@@aotearoa24-79 No, a dictator is the leader of a state who has exclusive total control over all government operations and decision making.
