    Good stuff. Continuity cadre for new members of the Bn. You said before that some of the guys had been in Bn for a year or so. Is it also a sort of upgrading cadre for those guys? Do you still even have different classes of Infantryman?

    • @Rangermedia
      @Rangermedia  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah so for those more senior are placed in there to aid with bringing on brand new guys. It’s not selection or anything like it more of a train in. Now it’s up and running again (covid & then operations) it’s an annual course. If a Ranger has completed any form of promotion course (Lcpl) or arduous course then they don’t need it. The infantry just has the next phase up (class 1). Fully trained

    What does it take to pass do you have to meet a certain time based on how far you swim for example 500M

    is this course like the old class one infantry soldier course we used to do back in the 80's ?

    As your part of 16 Bde are you able to do P coy & do many lads go for it ?

    • @Rangermedia
      @Rangermedia  7 месяцев назад +1

      It’s not impossible to get on but it’s not a must or priority. Parachute Regiment are priority for jumps etc.

  • @nonamegiven2024
    @nonamegiven2024 7 месяцев назад +3

    for the non swimmers, have the staff taken time to actually teach them how to swim?

    • @andyisthebestest
      @andyisthebestest 7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, if you can't, you get extra lessons in basic training

    • @Rangermedia
      @Rangermedia  7 месяцев назад +4

      This assessment is where that gets highlighted. Then a plan can be put in place to get the individual up to scratch with swimming.
      Its used to be a compulsory test to pass to pass out of basic, I’m not sure when it changed but non-swimmer’s are arriving from basic.
      My advice to anyone looking at joining would be to learn prior. As it does limit opportunities being a non-swimmer.

    • @Rangermedia
      @Rangermedia  7 месяцев назад +2

      Your Exactly right, I’m not trying to portray anything that it’s not. Perfectly achievable to anyone that applies themselves. They will start to get abit more fatigued as the field phase begins.
