  • "Oud" or Agarwood is one of the most prized natural incense materials utilised in exotic perfumes. It has been used since thousands of years as incense/bukhoor/agarbatti and also as Itr/Dahnal Oud/perfume oil.
In this video we will talk specifically about the most precious "Hindi" or Indian Oud and how within India how different regions carry different olfactory profiles (Upper Assam, Lower Assam, Naga, Kalakassi)
Agarwood Assam is a family owned, traditional, artisanal distiller and vendor that produces high quality, natural Indian Oud oils and Attars.
Oils I talk about in this video are: Lushai Hills, Arem Süng, Manek, Kalakassi Naga, Kalakassi Agaz, Halflong Mahuldar, Oud Gulzar, Rajah Laos 1995. I have collected these oils over the many years of exploring Ouds in great detail.
You can explore their materials here: www.etsy.com/i...

I think Zakir's brand moto says it all "Let the oil speak ...". I also like the fact that he's a man of few words when it comes to product descriptions - i.e. precise notes breakdown. Thank you very much for another informative and passionate video. 🤗

A wonderful introduction to the many complexities that the world of Oudh contains. I’ve only tried Oudh perfumes like Dahn Oudh al Shams. I’m looking forward to trying some Oudh oils.

In UAE Thai oud oils invaded the market 8/9 years ago. They are very popular among oud fanatics, but i discovered Indian oud last year and cant go back to Thai ones. I've been seeing Philippines oud pop up in adds lately which is relatively expensive because of its rarity and quality.

    Indeed!!!
Oud is complex.spiritual.abscure.something which is the foundation to a stairway that leads to divine serenity.
I stepped into perfumery when i smelled something peculiar, smokey, sweet and really really unique ,when a tall emarati passed by... In the quest of that perfect aroma *Exotic scents* happened to me!!
The one thing that your channel and all my experience with oud taught me is that so called perfect aroma can never be recreated nor be found unless I'm way too lucky ( as every oud smells different). Yet, i found something much more beautiful, spiritual, and something that i will preserve, cherish for my life time.
(Now i often layer my self with Hindi, combodi ouds and natural bhakoor.)
All thanks to nikhil and his exotic scents/perfume guru.

I don't want to buy wild for ethical reasons, but the best cultivated agarwood seems like it might be getting snatched up by perfumers. How can you find farmers who've grown a twenty year old crop, made a batch of oil and just left it raw with zero additives? I think if I found the right one I'd just buy a whole litre and have it slowly age with me.
