    I'd never really thought about how you can manipulate the battlefield to make good use out of 'Mass Sabotage'... until watching this video. Great use of this ability and has got me tempted to setup a playthrough to fully utilise this.
    Loved how you abused Anathema to the effect I feel it deserves of being a true God killer weapon. Do you know which weapons would be best for use prior to this seeing as Anathema can only really be used once?

    • @samboha5583
      @samboha5583  3 года назад +14

      Only problem is that there's a lot of enemies in the game that can't be pickpocketed. Otherwise, yeah it turns fights into an AP/movement puzzle which can be fun if you're patient. What's also fun is giving one enemy a stack of charm arrows so if they survive they'll finish the others off, and since Sabotage is only on a one turn cooldown you can proc it every turn for just 1AP to basically have a permanent charmed ally. Also worth noting is that the green tea also reduces the cost of entering stealth by 2AP so you can get down to 1AP with tea and Guerrilla, making it much easier to pickpocket mid-fight in some of the more difficult arx encounters.
      As for which weapon to use, short answer is still Anathema because Sabotage and Mass Sabotage don't count as attacks for Anathema's brittle stat so you can keep abusing its high base damage for those skills and it won't break as long as you don't use other attacks. Long answer is that pretty much any weapon can be used effectively before you can get Anathema. You just want high base damage if you want to go for OTKOs, preferably a two handed weapon so you can scale both base damage and crit damage with the two handed ability. So any unique 2H sword, axe, etc. while you level would work well. But when I was first trying this out, when fighting enemies that you can't pickpocket I would normally just use a bow so I could still use the arrows normally, and it opens you up to use Elemental Arrowheads for extra damage when you use Sabotage.
      If you weren't trying to OTKO the whole fight every time, and were using this more as a way to initiate fights on a couple high priority targets, you could choose weapons for other reasons. Like using weapons with multiple "chance to inflict x status" stats and Torturer. With the right combo of non-unique daggers you could inflict something like 6+ soft CC and DoT statuses to anyone who survives the initial blast. Or you can combo off the arrows you use, like having a weapon with shock chance and using water/steam arrows to try to ensure anyone that doesn't die is still stunned.

    1. Doesn't the teleportation skill cost 2 AP
    2. How was he able to move so much with 0 AP spent?
    3. also how come pickpocket does not cost any AP?

    • @samboha5583
      @samboha5583  3 года назад +99

      1. It does normally, but since I have the Ambidextrous talent and a 2H weapon equipped, which qualifies as having my offhand free, the cost of Teleport scrolls is reduced to 1.
      2. I have the Sneaking Civil maxed out to improve movement speed while sneaking, Scoundrel maxed out to improve base movement speed, Haste for an added boost, and The Pawn talent to make the first 1AP worth of movement on my turn free.
      3. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    can someone explain, why did this do SO much damage? i am a new player and i have no clue why did he pickpocket them, put cursed fire arrows in and then deal that damage

    • @samboha5583
      @samboha5583  3 года назад +38

      Hopefully I can explain all of this in a way that makes sense..
      * Mass Sabotage detonates up to two arrows/grenades in every enemy's inventory in the AoE.
      * The cursed fire arrows deal more damage than other arrows. 100% of your weapon's base damage rather than most other arrows that only deal 70%.
      * Each of those arrows makes its own AoE. Ideally, by grouping the enemies up you can try to make every arrow hit every enemy.
      * When detonating arrows, the game uses your currently equipped weapon for the arrow's base damage. Sort of like if you used a bow to shoot the arrow but since you're using a sabotage skill instead of shooting them normally you can benefit from using any type of weapon, not just a bow.
      * So I chose the weapon with the highest base damage in the game, Anathema, to deal the most damage I could. Detonating the arrows with Mass Sabotage uses the weapon's stats so I maxed out all of that weapon's relevant stats: Strength(because Anathema is a sword), Warfare(because the sword deals physical damage), Two Handed(because it's a 2H weapon, to increase both base damage and crit damage), and Scoundrel(hoping that most of those arrows would crit to further increase crit damage).
      So I have 6 enemies, each enemy has 2 arrows in their inventory for a total of 12 explosions. If they're all close enough together, each enemy is getting hit with up to 12 explosions that all deal between around 1.6K to 6.6K depending on the enemies' resistances and whether or not the arrows crit.

    • @samboha5583
      @samboha5583  Год назад +1

      Yeah unfortunately, slowdowns are always just single-target so each arrow would only hit the enemy holding it and you wouldn't get the stacking AoE damage like you see in this video.
