- The All Day Beret has been updated and is now called the Any Day Beret! It is an easy knit beret hat pattern. It's knit from the bottom up in the round.
This knit hat pattern uses an eye-catching diagonal spiral pattern, which I'll show you how to do in this video. In fact, I show you step-by-step all that you need to know in order to work this hat from start to finish. Therefore, it's a great pattern to try as a beginner knitter.

Marlybird your so great love you vids. Thanks.
I was concerned about the double pointed needles with your instructions one great cheer leading I'm going to give it a try. Now off to the store to get said needles.
MARLY, this is a great project to help Knitters learn how to follow a pattern... And... The finished hat looks great.... Thank you... I especially appreciated your hint showing us how to avoided the dreaded ladders when using DPN’s.
What brand of DPN’s were you using? I really don’t like my Bamboo ones...
❤️❤️😎
I always thought this pattern looked confusing to knit but.. watching you knit this i understand it much better. I think i will give this pattern a try soon. It is a really cool looking hat!!!
Amarky... Just wanted to say that your tips on avoiding ladders on DON’s has been a lifesaver! Thanks.. Now... How do Innit knit so tightly.. K2TOG is always a chore...
Thank you
It beautiful marquer
thank you
do you know how to adjust it I am just curious I appreciate your help!😀
Is it best to use a solid color yarn so you can see the beautiful pattern. Love your videos. You are a great teacher. Thanks so much.
Yes and thank you.
Will you also teach us men's golf hat
I would like to make this beret for an 8 year old. Can you suggest how to downsize. I am a new knitter and plan to follow your instructions on RUclips. Thanks
hi I really enjoyed watching your video .... 😊😊 I wanna ask if I can use knit two together instead of SSK or not and thanks for your efforts 😁😁😁
+Adam Mahdy thanks for the compliment! If you use a k2tog the decreased stitch will lean to the right when you want the stitch to lean to the left. That is why the pattern has you do the SSK. Having said that, if you choose to use a k2tog instead and call the look a design feature I don't think anybody would say anything :-)
+Marly Bird thanks for your answer I am gonna use yours. ... you are the best 😘 😘 😘
the SSK leans to the Left and the K2tog leans to the Rights. So for the the decreases to look correct, it is important to do the SSK ;-)
You can knit skp,or k2tog through back loop
I missed lesson on how to knit on circular needles into a flat piece. Ex...blanket. It won’t lay flat kkeeeps going in circle howfinisheach row or just use flat needles?
I'm a beginner to knit.
Can i make this beret just using a circular needle by magic loop metode till end?
PS.. Those purple DPN’s are so pretty.. What brand are they?
Sandy Grogg RED HEART® Soft®: 1 ball 9779 Berry
Susan Bates® Circular Knitting Needles: 3.75mm [US 5] 16” and 5mm [US 8] 16”
1 Set Double Pointed Needles 5mm [US 8]
Yarn needle
would you be able to knit this on straight needles??
You would have to adjust the pattern to have it knit flat then seamed.
You have to k1 p3 at row 2 for the diagonal stitch
Great
where did you get your dpns?

NO PICS? AFTER U MADE IT?
+Umm' Salamah you can see the final picture in the pattern. :)
I agree! No before or after pics of the finished hat...disappointing! Why would you not show the hat??? Looking at a pic on paper is not the same!
I agree! All the time you were talking at the end - you could easily have been holding up and displaying the finished project.
How many did you cast on
All the details for this are in the pattern. You will find the link in the video description of this video.
Couldn't you use magic loop and forget the double point needles?
Yes.
Nice work, but very confusing when you knit with both hands.
Just trying to make it understandable for everyone
Sorry to say but we see the pattern better with your lighter color(turquoise) piece. I wonder if it’s only my perception?!?
