This song is one of my all time favorites and it's from the band's debut album "Herzeleid" (1995) "Du Riechst So Gut" ("You smell so good") was their very first single and music video. Back then, in 95, as they were a new band, they didn't have too much money for the video, so it was very simple and conceptual, kinda replicating the imagery of the album cover, depicting the band members shirtless in an all-white environment, with some shots of a flower and a Doberman (that represented part of the meaning of the song, which is basically following a woman's trace/smell as if she was "prey") They became succesful shortly after, so in 1998 they re-released the song with a shorter intro and a brand new (far better) music video, inspired by a classic tale and movie, involving wolves, a castle, some late 18th century clothes and special effects. That video became absolutely iconic. Actually the "freeze-frame and the synchronized "headbanging" they do on this live 2005 version, is based on that 1998 music video 😉
The concert is excellent. They play in the Roman Amphitheater of Nimes. The Romans would have liked that, they loved the spectacle. The song is from 1995. Nice Reaction.
U should buy the live DVD Völkerball. This Gig in in France, in this old Roman amphitheater was awesome.. There was an special edition out, with a live CD and a special disc with a documentary about the band and ther World tour. Love ur reactions dude. Greetz from Germany

Great video! During some shows in the 2012 European tour the guitars from Richard and Paul were actually ONE FIRE during the solo. They did not do this every show.

I was there!!! I saw a lot of concert in this place, and of course this one was awesome, the place is really great for concerts, especially band like Rammstein. This song is their first single, and still one of their song we all wait during the shows. If I'm not mistaken, Till was sick during this cocert. Hence why his voice is lower/ more gravel than normal. He may have had a very silght pneumonia, just remember reading that at one time. Flake on that Segway turned out to be a bad idea. During a performance he crashed into Till and broke his chin. Had to cancel the rest of that tour.
The funny thing is that Till was having problems with his voice during this volkerball time. So is sick that this is their best live concert, I love his raw voice here

Till's voice is that low because at the time he was a smoker and it was causing him some health issues so he quit right after this tour and his voice came back to be great.
"Rammstein Live Aus Berlin" and "Rammstein Völkerball" are the 2 best recorded live performances of the band. "Rammstein in Amerika" its cool and "Rammstein: Paris" has the best setlist, pyro, outfits.. untill 2019 tour, but I think that Jonas (the director), ruined it with all the camera angles that he squeeze per minute and all those cheap effects that are not aging well (besides Rammstein doesnt need fx).
