My favorite little factoid about this game is that the studio's previous title was Bubsy 3D. However clunky Syphon Filter is today you have to admit that its an amazing progression
This was my favorite series back in the PS1 era. I think if they really figured out how to bring into the modern era back in ps2 and ps3 a lot more people would have been talking about Syphon Filter.
My mom randomly bought me this game when I was like 16 and I instantly became hooked! 1 and 2 are 2 of my favorite games. Such an awesome game for the time and I'll always love it

The voice acting was great too. I spent many nights playing it. I run 3 hour walk throughs in the background to fall asleep to. It is super relaxing and comforting. I also will play the soundtrack alone to ease my tinnitus while reading. Playing in God Mode was especially satisfying while replaying those levels that seemed impossible.
I also played the second one on PS2. The first one was one of my favorites when I was a kid. It wasn’t as complex as MGS, and the first Syphon Filter had cheat codes, too!
I was 11 when Syphon Filter came out. I Love this game and it's sequel so much, I'm replaying it on my steam deck reliving the good ol' days. Sadly didn't get a chance to enjoy Syphon Filter 3 as we saved up to get Grand Theft Auto 3 that Christmas instead. I wonder if that was a mistake. GTA3 still an awesome game and was mind blowing at the time and remember Edge magazine giving it 6 out of 10, I laughed my head off 🤣. What a golden age in video gaming.

This game series woww… a friend of mine (she was like 7years older than me) that showed me this , got addicted to drugs shortly after showing this to me as a kid . It was one of the best memories from us growing up . Video games can really be nostalgic and bring up some memories youd never yhought mattered sometimes
Syphon filter was way better then most people have it credit for. I had so much fun using the grenade launcher to make entire city blocks completely dark!
I remember playing the demo all day on the ps1 demo disc. Loved it. Eventually got the full game but never played it properly. Need to revisit this on my ps4
Syphon filter was fantastic back in the PS1 days I loved the 2nd one the multiplayer death matches were a blast. Be great if we could get a 1-3 remaster trilogy for PS5 if Sony could do it. 🙏🌟
Played the hell out of this. Never got past the level with the blue and grey guys fighting though. Had too much fun running around killing unlimited enemies

Completed the Ps1 trilogy Last year for the first time. I was surprised how Well it all tied together, second starting story wise within hours of the first game and the third giving you lots of flashbacks and even the jungle map from the first games intro video. Lot of small upgrades had been made like comparing sf1 To 3, the small objectives were visible with text if you were close enough so no More tedious guessing and burton spamming hoping To Hit the objective trigger (the crate marking In sf1). Yes the first hits really Hard with nostalgia running In the streets and getting out from the Subway but i didnt feel More than once that the games Lost something in the 2nd or 3rd game, More they improved just enough To make things smoother but never slipping top much To hand holding, and of course the 3rd games almost poetic ending To Completed the trilogys circle. Dont want To spoil it for anyone Who dont want To know. 😅
I have bought Syphon Filter and Syphon Filter 2 in addition to Metal Gear Solid. They look great via a cheap S-Video cable on my Sanyo HT32546 SD CRT. They’ll probably look even better with a proper S-Video cable that doesn’t replicate the Composite Video signal like my current cable does.

It blew my mind as a kid when I hit the enemies with the tazer and they eventually caught on fire if you held it long enough.
Played it on the ol school demo discs that came in the gaming magazines. Miss those demo discs.
Yeah it was the street level. I played it for hours then bought the game on release day, and they said demos didn't work.
I played this demo in early 1999 at a Toys R Us. Me my dad and brother were amazed. We eventually got it some months later. Good times.

You can zoom in sniper rifle while aiming with triangle. Also pistols work better when not handled upside-down.
