how isn't anyone in the media talking about how Dario Marianelli got snubbed at the Oscars for this score? his work here is far better than most of the nominated scores.
it wasn't a part of the conversation in the so called "important" categories like best picture, director or any of the acting categories, but as far as best original score is concerned, it was definitely in the conversation and even considered to be nominated.
Just saw this movie, my dad yook me to see it as a history lesson and a way to get over my Last Jedi addiction 😂 I'd give it a 10/10 , funny, impactful and very moving, definitely worth the watch!

If been trying to find the piano melody of: "The war rooms" from this soundtrack and today, May 11th, 2018 I found some of it. Great leader you are Winston Churchill.
I really would like to love this movie. But the extra movie drama around Halifax and Winston's struggle to consider peace terms were simply not historically accurate. Churchill never seriously considered peace talks as prime minister. He was open to PRETENDING to have peace talks to buy the army time at Dunkirk if it would help on that front. But quite simply the backbone of the narrative is flawed and revolves around a debate topic that is not true to history.
One more thing, I feel like there is enough drama in WW2 already without adding fictional drama. Winston quite simply faced the annihilation of the entire British army and the imminent invasion of the British homeland. Is that not enough drama? Maybe they just wanted to make it seem like Churchill was in complete power, and it was his choice of not capitulating that saved Britain. But that is not the real truth. I think what is more true to history is that most if not all Britain had already made the choice to not surrender by May 1940. No Churchill saved Britain not by choosing to not surrender, but by fighting with every sinew of his body for victory and rallying his country to war. Let's see more of that side of Winston next time please. We saw a little in this film but not enough. It was a token in the film but not the core where it needed to be. That is where Winston shined.

And it was nominated at The BAFTA s and Critics Choice Awards for best score so yeah, it is a snub.
