    It’s bittersweet, I must say. While I’m happy to see Caro playing again. I always enjoyed watching her style of game; she’s a clean ball striker. However, I have come to really like her commentating and analyzing matches. She a great commentator, knows what she talking about. Great insight. I didn't even know she was coming back and I'm impressed. In her first tournament back she plays a match like this against the Wimbledon champion. That shows how the level of the WTA has dropped in the last few years but also what an athlete Caroline is. She'll be a top player again and she is inspirational. That's how you should play when you get a wildcard :)

    • @amerajanovic4841
      @amerajanovic4841 Год назад +4

      WTA level certainly hasn't dropped, and anyone who's been following them for the last 20 years can tell you that. Yes Marketa's Wimbledon win was a surprise and should have never happened on this tour, with the big 3 + Ons, but it did, and she has a great potential to back that victory and not go away. These couple of matches she won in Montreal are positive signs, as she's a huge talent. On the contrary, the period of Woz's number 1 reign was by far the most inconsistent and mediocre wta level of the last 20 years. Today, it's very good, and one could only wish Naomi and Ash were still playing and Vichka, Simona, Petra, Garbine and Kerber were peaking to challenge the beasts of 1ga, Saba and Rybka! But we can sit back and enjoy these top 20 incredible players :)

    • @user-qu8qe5io1i

      The worst wta level was when Wozniacki was 1st in the world without any slams lol

    • @milvao3400
      @milvao3400 Год назад +3

      @@user-qu8qe5io1i No, when Wozniacki was no.1 there were great players around:Kim, Justine, Maria, the Williams sisters, Ivanovic, Jankovic and many great players. That's why she couldn't win a slam, she was consistent but she could never beat a Kim or a Serena in a GS final. When Serena was dominating after 2013, the level was much lower than that. Now the level is extremely low, anyone can win a Slam, there are no rivalries and no great matches to watch, and it shows when players like her (Caroline) and Svitolina come back and win matches so easily or play a match like this against a fresh Wimbledon champion who is 10 years younger than her. I think that Caroline is coming back also for this very reason. She knows what she's doing and she knows that these times are easier than past times.

    • @milvao3400
      @milvao3400 Год назад

      @@amerajanovic4841 It has dropped. The proof is that we don't even have a rivarly, a great match that you want to go back and watch again. And we have a lot of surprise Grand Slam winners, they are so many that we even forget their stories or their names (who won the 2021 French Open?).... we have Trevisan in the RG semis. Please, as much as I respect her as a player, it would have never happened not even in a million years in the era of Kim, Justine, Barty, Naomi, Clijsters, Maria... And also... Svitolina and Wozniacki coming back from recent moderhood and already beating or competing against the world no.1 and the fresh Wimbledon champion? I'm sure Caroline has come back also for this very reason: she knows that, on this tour, she can still be competitive. And she proved it in Montreal.

    Even though Caroline isn't 100% ready physically, she has demonstrated the most resilient, robust and forceful performance in order to boost her capacity on the pitch. It really proves her comeback. She needs more time to contend against the powerful adversaries. It is early to reach the zenith of her form at this point.
