    Not seen your vids in a while, great to see the Alfa being used. That underside looks mint 😎
    In stead of using WD40 .. why not try the Bilt Hamber Atomac, great product and keeps that dreaded rust away 😁

    I don't think mine has been that clean since it left the factory. You are welcome to come wash mine anytime, Pizza and beer is on me :D But seriously nice condition, if you ever take it to a garage for service they must be over the moon happy and surprised to work on it.

    Looks so good! I really enjoy all these clear detailed clips of the GTV underside. Are you happy with that clarke trolley jack? I had an SGS one that blew the seals after the second use. I have a COMPUCLEANER ORIGINAL II - ELECTRIC AIR DUSTER that is great for blowing away water and dust. on the third brake light cover I changed the steel screws over to No.8 x 19mm stainless steel torx pin button head self tapping security screws.

      Thank you for the tips! Yes, the Clarke trolley Jack has been one of my best investments. I’ve had it a long time with zero issues. Highly recommend 👍🏼

      I've had an SGS trolley jack for about five years and I've had no troubles with it, even using it entirely outdoors as I don't have a garage.

    May I ask if you have a video of your full spec and what you have done to date on the car? Noticed that you have some galvanized parts on the suspension? Unless I am wrong!

    Interesting about the wd-40. Never thought to use that for the underside. Suppose it would attract dirt but easier to then wipe off. Have to say this is hardcore: axle stands and wheels. But you gotta do it. Recently done a three 3 review of the underside of my 145.

    • @_RicksGarage

      Yes there are pro’s and cons to using WD40. It’s great for the purpose it was intended…….displacing water which is great after a wash down. It’s easy to apply, wipe down, remove, then apply again and again which is something you just cannot do with other products such as waxoyl or Dinitrol etc. Not without a lot of hard work anyway! WD40 isn’t so great as a rust preventative especially for a daily driver car but it has always been good for my seasonal projects that don’t see the winter or rain if I can help it.
      WD40 can be harmful to rubber but it isn’t much of an issue for me especially since most of my bushes are Polly. So yes, some people rate it whereas other people hate it and can’t understand it. I’m sure there are much better products out there nowadays but I guess I’m just stuck in my ways haha. Whatever works for each individual I guess 👍🏼

    Love this car Rick, credit to you.
    Approximately how long did this take for the full clean?

    • @_RicksGarage
      @_RicksGarage  3 года назад

      Thanks Mark. Approximately 2 hours With filming otherwise it would be much quicker!

    Hi Rick, shines like new. You have spent a lot of time, labor and money for this condition of the car. Yes this was hard but to protect this, is harder. You are doing right to wash the underside. One question. How are the bushings from powerflex? Can you make a video only for the bushes. I will change my ARB bushes from Eibach to Powerflex because the Eibach s are sqeching although the was lubed. Back and front ARB are from Eibach. Thanks.

      @_RicksGarage  3 года назад +1

      Hi there. Yes, Polly bushes are renown for squeezing over time. Fitting Powerflex ultimately won’t be any different. Eventually they can also squeak. The trick is to fit polly bushes using Teflon tape as well as the supplied grease. Wrap the ARB with a very thin layer of Teflon tape before applying the grease and it’ll never squeak again 👍🏼.

    Hi Rick cracking job but being a fairly new subscriber is the paint work original or a repaint ?

    • @_RicksGarage
      @_RicksGarage  3 года назад

      Hi Dean. It hasn’t had any paint whilst in my possession but I would say the car has most certainly seen a bit of paint in its lifetime.

    This does look superb Rik i must admit.....noticed all your new suspension bolts did you manage to get new metric fine bolts or used standard metric coarse? One thing i did notice thought you might have done replace old rusty wheel bolts i have stainless on mine looks much nicer

    • @serenahansen2394
      @serenahansen2394 Год назад

      You have stainless steel wheel bolts? Stainless steel isn't as strong as high tensile steel so you are running a serious risk of them shearing and you losing a wheel. The forces put on the wheels and suspension components are huge and you should only use grade 10.9 steel bolts at a minimum. Please change them back before you cause a serious incident.

    • @handyandy71
      @handyandy71 Год назад

      @@serenahansen2394 Serena i have been asked about these bolts a few times they are Super Duplex 109 grade stainless steel 109 grade has the same tensile and yield strength as a 10.9 carbon steel bolt. Been on my car for 16 years without any incident whatsoever!

    • @serenahansen2394
      @serenahansen2394 Год назад

      @@handyandy71 I personally think that is worth specifying as others here with less engineering knowledge might think any old stainless bolt is safe enough.
      Thank you for doing it properly x
