I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You is the most beautifully poignant song ever. Most of us have been there--losing a special love and not able to forget. Best song ever. Thank you, Colin!
The man has perfect pitch no matter where he sings on the scale or off of it. He is his own scale. Further, let it be said that this may be the finest song crafter alive today. There have been many who have done it well, yes, and they are dear too. But none of them held it as long as Colin. Truly remarkable.
Sometimes you just have to appreciate and enjoy beautiful moments like: A beautiful sunset, seeing a friend smile and hear Colin sings such a touching song about love
I could listen to him talk about his craft and why he continues to play for hours. We have been blessed with his talent for so many years, and I'm very grateful for it. Thanks for posting this!
you probably dont give a shit but if you are bored like me atm then you can stream pretty much all of the latest series on instaflixxer. Been streaming with my brother these days xD
I love that Colin is a master singer songwriter and still humble and an authentic human. I love how he takes care to express himself as honestly as possible.
And how his style and even his voice have improved over the years! Already a legend at the time of Men at Work, he has matured over time just like good wine.
It looks so simpel but i love his complex playing. trying to imitate but i really cant, but getting better ;). Superb Colin, your music makes me happy ! And just as JD no one can imitate your voice!
This is my favorite version of "Come Tumbling Down." Love Colin Hayes' songwriting & live performances. When he sang with Choir Choir Choir he gave everyone a free concert after, nice guy too!
I can not stop hearing this. He plays every note and chord ever created. Ultimate Guitar Tabs calls it "Novice". Either I suck or there's something wrong with their rating system. I call these things.. Holy Grail songs
Talent beyond words Colin. Both lyrics and guitar playing. All delivered with absolute passion like this lost love happened only yesterday. Australia misses you. Come for a visit!!!
His second song I have listened to at least 15 times, also on another site. I continue to dissect it for it's brilliance. Here's what I have so far: -- First the alternate tuning -- Second, he talks the song more than he sings it as if he is talking directly to someone. Has more impact. -- Numerous pauses between lyrics gives further dramatic effect. -- He doesn't begin singing on the 1 chord. Starts on the 2 or 3 ( whatever you call it?) ..even more effect. -- Of course the great lyrics and just how he puts it all together. I will probably continue to listen to this song every couple weeks as I still do.
What an outstanding performance of these two great songs & the chat with Acoustic Cafe host in between was enthralling & down to earth - cheers for posting
@@CorM1 Great! Thanks for the love and support for years ♥️ Well, I opened this as my official chat account to keep in touch with my fans and also get to know how people feel about me and my musical craftiness. Have you been to any concert of mine?
You know the little dinner party game where you're asked to pick six people, living or dead, who you would invite to a dinner party? Colin Hay would be on my list. I would set him next to Mae West. 🙄
I would include Jerry Garcia, Jorma Kaukonen, Frank Zappa, Lou Reed, Dwight Yoakam, and certainly Joni Mitchell. What a full heart I would have. Boundless gratitude to the poster.

I just saw him twice in the last week. Simply two of the most magical evenings I've ever spent. What a gift.

I love sad, dark songs. GET OVER YOU is in my Top 5 for the lyrics and masterful stylings.
Saw Colin once in Knoxville Tn ,it was great ! Praying for an opportunity to witness to him concerning his atheism

First...what is the alternate tuning?? :)
@@BritRael
DADGAD or DADGBD seems to be the consensus from others on You Tube. Guess he plays it either way.

Is this DADGAD tuning? If it isn't, it's something close to it. The second song is quite beautiful.
Is the audience singing the harmonies??? Sounds so cool

I
Lyrics
I dropped a coin in the wishing well
It's been a long time dry
I watched that ol' greyhound bus kick up dust
As it rolls on by
I asked the man in the station
He said man just take a look around
We haven't had a train through here
Since it all came tumblin' down
Tumblin' down come tumblin' down
Tumblin' down come tumblin' down
Tumblin' down come tumblin' down
Come tumblin' down
I'm not a drinkin' man no more
But this one night I got lost
I've never been much of a dancer
But this I surely was
I made it out to the cottonwoods
Slept with my ear down to the ground
And in my dreams I could hear the screams
As it all came tumblin' down
Tumblin' down come tumblin' down
Tumblin' down come tumblin' down
Tumblin' down come tumblin' come tumblin'
Come tumblin' down
The corridors are all empty
And there's a child sitting on the stairs
She's seen everything there is to see
And somehow she still cares
We took a ride on the ferris wheel
Built from glass and steel and such
Now it's melting in the sun
And it's not worth all that much
Tumblin' down
I raise my hands up to the sky
Tumblin' down
As we climb to higher ground
Tumblin' down
Let's just keep on dancing
Tumblin' down
Until it all comes tumblin' down
Tumblin' down come tumblin' down
Tumblin' down come tumblin' down
Tumblin' down come tumblin' come tumblin'
Come tumblin' down
