The orthodox Jewish community in Stamford Hill are finding house prices a problem and (so far) about a hundred families have moved to Canvey Island in Essex. I believe they have their own bus/delivery service.

Thanks for sharing that insight! It’s fascinating to see how communities adapt to changing circumstances like rising house prices. The move from Stamford Hill to Canvey Island is a significant shift, and it’s interesting to hear that they’ve set up their own bus and delivery services to maintain that close-knit community vibe. It’s a great example of how communities can thrive and stay connected, even when they relocate. Thanks for adding to the conversation!

@AlexanderHernandez-ue5wm Thanks for your feedback. The London Bus Service is a public transport system, and it’s common for people to have conversations on the phone or with each other while traveling to their destinations. It’s a dynamic environment where everyone is talking and going about their day. I appreciate your understanding that these interactions are a part of the public transport experience.

A sad war memorial in Camberwell Green. A wedding party fled to an underground shelter which received a direct hit killing the bride and groom, the groom’s parents and his five younger sisters.

The bride and groom were 21 years old.

Thank you for sharing this poignant piece of history. The story of that wedding party in Camberwell Green is truly heartbreaking-a reminder of the tragic impact of war on everyday lives. It’s hard to imagine the sorrow felt by the community after such a devastating loss, especially when it involved such young lives. Stories like these are important to remember, as they honor the memories of those who were lost.
