The 465 is a fantastic route, taking you from Kingston all the way to Dorking through some beautiful Surrey countryside! I’ll definitely keep it in mind for a future journey-thanks for the suggestion!

Yeah, the 213 during rush hour can definitely be a tough one! Packed buses, slow traffic-it’s all part of the experience. Hope you don’t have to endure it too often!

@@LondonBusRider Ha, not since the early '90s. The bus would be packed with blaring walkmans, noisy crisp eaters and screaming kids. I would be a nervous wreck by Kingston. (Misophonia sufferer).Outside of rush hour it is a far more pleasant journey. Your video was....nostalgic, in a funny sort of way.

Unfortunately, in the process, I lost a bit of the route, which is why there’s a brief switch to the 321. Appreciate you pointing it out, and I’ll try to minimize that in future recordings!

Ha, I won’t lie-2 hours and 22 minutes is definitely a marathon of a ride! But honestly, I enjoy it, especially when the route is interesting like that. It’s all part of the experience, and getting to share it with you all makes it worth it!

I lived in Earlsfield many years ago & rode de 77 on a regular basis. Really enjoyed seeing my old area once more 👊🏻

Great question! The 595 travels through some pretty rural and country roads, especially around Tatsfield and Westerham, where the lanes can get quite muddy, especially after rain. That’s probably why the bus often looks a bit dirty from the side-it picks up all that mud and dust from the narrow countryside roads. It’s just part of the charm of these rural routes! Thanks for pointing it out-interesting observation!

Great observation! Yes, you’re absolutely right. The announcement system on London buses sometimes uses different voice recordings for certain routes or destinations. On the G1, for example, the name of the route (‘G1’) might be pronounced by one voice, while another voice-Emma, the more familiar announcer-handles the destinations like ‘Battersea Shaftesbury Estate.’ It’s a quirk of the system, but it’s always cool when viewers notice these small details. Your cousin is correct; Transport for London (TfL) has announced the withdrawal of bus route 347, which runs between Romford Station and Ockendon Station. The last day of operation is scheduled for Friday, 17 January 2025.  To mitigate the impact of this withdrawal, TfL has made several adjustments: • Route 346 Extension: Route 346 has been extended to cover a significant portion of the former 347 route, providing service between St Mary’s Lane in Cranham and Harold Wood Station, as well as to the Tesco at Gallows Corner.  • Increased Frequency on Route 370: Starting from 2 November 2024, route 370, which connects Ockendon, Upminster, and Romford, now operates with increased frequency. There are 5 buses per hour on Monday to Saturday daytimes (up from 4), and 4 buses per hour on Sundays and all evenings (up from 2).  • Alternative Services: Other routes, including the 174, 248, 294, 498, and 499, provide alternative services over various parts of the former 347 route. Additionally, non-TfL bus route 269 offers service between North Ockendon and Ockendon Station.  These changes aim to ensure continued connectivity for areas previously served by the 347, including Ockendon.

I also use backup cameras, including the GoPro Hero 9, Hero 8, and sometimes my iPhone camera for specific shots. To deal with sun glare, I try to film at angles that minimize reflections, use natural light to my advantage, and occasionally adjust the camera’s settings like exposure.
