The Pichincha Volcano is right next to Ecuador's capital city, Quito. From the cable car station, it's easy to find the path that will lead you to the top of the lower summit of the volcano, the Rucu Pichincha (4698 m).
Even for a good hiker, the ascent can be really challenging if you are not acclimatized well enough to the altitude.
The ever changing weather conditions, strong winds and cold are not helping either!
But when you finally reach the top, all the hardship is forgotten and you are left with really cool memories.

Awesome job getting to the top! Climbing at those heights can really take a lot out of you! But those views! Worth it!

Thank you for your comment, altitude is really hard, specially when you just arrived 2 days before and have a very average acclimatization!!

Yes it was far from easy but when you reach the top you forget all the hardship!

Loved the opening edit! Those views look absolutely drop dead gorgeous and I can only imagine how much more breathtaking it must've been in person!!

Wow the views are cool. Super windy though, but you were really up there. Very cool to be amongst the clouds.

Yeah the weather is not your friend at this altitude but it's true that it's quite an experience to be walking in the clouds

Congrats, looks like a tough but rewarding hike! And hey - I took a week to climb Kilimanjaro and had much the same view 😂 Great video, look forward to seeing more!

Yes it was far from easy! Unfortunately mountain tops are often caught in the clouds but at least we can say we did it!

Yeah that looks very exhausting! I did a similar hike in the Galapagos Islands in Isabela Island and I ran out of water. I could only imagine how hot it most have been. Nice informative video. Keep it up.

Thanks! Indeed it's very easy to underestimate the food and water you will need when you go for such a hike

This hike looks pretty brutal! I did one challenging hike at Mt Batur in Bali and that was pretty tough for me (I'm not much of hiker tho). Congrats on making it to the top! Must feel incredible :)

Hey thanks for your comment! I also climbed Mt Batur a few years ago and I confirm that the Rucu Pichincha was much more difficult haha! BUT the view from Mt Batur is really beautiful and it's already a good hike

That looked pretty trecherous at points, coupled with the altitude and cold. No surprise you were exhausted! I think I'll stay at sea level when I get to Quito this December!

Haha! You can still go ride the cable car, it's really worth it! Enjoy your trip in December!

Wow! 4698 meters! That must have been a challenging climb. I've only been up to 3200 meters. Here in the Austrian Alps the highest mountain is only 3798 meters. Great video! I subscribed and look forward to more.

Thank you! It was challenging yes, and I think I was still lacking some altitude acclimatization so it was even worse!

An insider view of the clouds is all I could get at the top, but it was still a hard but cool experience!
