Great wisdom and insights. Sleep is very important. It's essential for physical and mental health. Going to bed early and waking up early is healthy and will help us be more productive.
I am currently listening to the audio book, read by the author. A very interesting takeaway is that the word “priority” was first coined in the 1400s. It was singular. Only ONE thing could be a priority. Fastforward 500 years and you will often see it as plural: “priorities.” McKeown says to strip that back down.
Father time gets all of us but you will keep the light in your eyes longer by eating healthy and drinking less alcohol. Treat yourself like an athlete.
Great video Tae, like a lot that you are brodering the content not only talking about financials but also great advices and information for a better life in general. Keep it up!!
Hahaha! We’re on the same path: finished listening to Atomic Habits a couple weeks ago and started listening to Essentialism this morning! Am reading From Strength to Strength. I like having a book in my ears for commuting, walking the dogs, cooking, etc…and another for my eyes when I have time to sit and actually read.
Thank you for your advice on life. Here are mine: My personal philosophy has 20 beliefs I strive to live by: 1. “Love is the only rational act.” -Stephen Levine 2. We are all teachers, we are all students. We grow and evolve together. 3. Nothing about me, without me. 4. “Make Life Beautiful” from the song Beautiful by Storm Large 5. "Work is love made visible." -The Prophet by Khalil Gibran 6. I can like you, even though I am not like you. We are equals even though we are not alike. -inspired by the book A Wrinkle In Time. 7. The Universe provides. 8. Pain is (often) ignorance leaving the body. -paraphrased from the Tsunami Rangers 9. As you are art, so am I. 10. “Joy is the gift of love, grief is the cost of love, anger protects your love.” -Valarie Kaur 11. “That which is moral is that which feels good, (during and) after.” 12. If you don't heal from those who hurt you, you will bleed on those who didn't cut you. 13. "You can ask for anything in the world that you want, as long as you are willing to accept no for an answer." -Steve the Hippie 14. “Sit with reason, move with passion.” -paraphrasing Kahlil Gibran from The Prophet 15. “Those who have a 'why' to live, can bear with almost any 'how'.” -Viktor Frankl, 16. It doesn't have to be fun, to be fun. -from an unknown rock climber 17. We live in a world where anything is possible. 18. There is pretty much just one question in life to answer, and that is, how do you want to spend your time? -my step father Paul 19. The best way to predict the future, is to create it. -Peter Drucker 20. If you want something you've never had, you gotta do some thing you've never done. -Carlos Anderson, the Minister, from Hope Church
I recently made further purchases. Saving for a market slump is also a bad idea. There are different perspectives on recessions and depressions; we cannot always expect significant rewards; and taking risks is preferable to doing nothing. The bottom line is that by diversifying your portfolio and making sensible judgments, you will accomplish exceptional outcomes. In just 5 months, my portfolio's raw earnings increased by $608k.
Despite my conviction in your direction, my recent stock purchases, and the fact that I am an AMC shareholder, I have not been able to amass anything. I had been in debt for far too long before the collapse. What are the steps required in investing?
I completely agree, which is why I think it's important to delegate decision-making responsibility to an investment coach. Underperformance is essentially unimaginable given their specialized experience and education, as well as the fact that each of their skills is focused on harnessing risk for its asymmetrical potential and controlling it as a buffer against certain unfavorable events. Working with an investment coach for over two years, l've made over $1.5 million.
That is incredible! If She's this talented and has A-list skills, I'd like to speak with her. Even when I clone transactions using a MAM account, I continue to lose 20% of the time. Where can I locate her contact information?
Mr. Tae Kim, I just watched your video on IUL and totally agreeing with you. Have you also done a video on annuity? This agent is saying Nationwide is having this 30% bonus right away on the whole initial amount and then 8% yearly thereafter. This is too good to be true, and I am being skeptical.
Hello Tae! How have you been doing? I would like to ask you to make a video about Shariah Complaint Index Funds. Since your channel is followed by muslim people, I think that would be beneficial for us.
Will you ever do a video on Bitcoin? So many of the financial literacy channels I follow dismiss it as speculative but there is math that proves it’s value. From a 1% allocation decreasing the sharpe ratio of a portfolio to bitcoin following the power law, a lot of financial literacy proponents haven’t done their due diligence on the value of bitcoin. Hoping you research it and do a video. Saving in Bitcoin the last 3 years has improved my net worth exponentially
King Solomon, the wisest and richest man who has ever lived wrote the best lessons/principles about money in the book of Proverbs and it’s still applicable up to this day.
Bond claim. I'm lucky if a book changes my life in one way for more than a month or two. Phelps likely sleeps so much due to his training load. Most of us are lucky to get our heart rate up once or even walk 2000 steps in a day.
Peter Drucker's response amounts to "I don't mean to be rude but..." and he proceeds to be rude. That ain't the way to behave. It's okay to say no and we can do it better.
Sadly, this book attempts to usurp the very useful philosophical term by the same name. Fortunately, this book will be all but forgotten in the next few years, as happens to almost all self-help works. Learning about the REAL essentialism (and why it is faulty thinking) is MUCH more important than reading something like this.

Excellent video. Clear, concise, and doable. Thanks!

Sleeping is great but some of us can’t…(insomnia)
This book is just tons of water
Make a video on what the Bible says about money
King Solomon, the wisest and richest man who has ever lived wrote the best lessons/principles about money in the book of Proverbs and it’s still applicable up to this day.
Man, great lessons. But I hated the No one. Especially Truckers quote. Not my vibe
❤❤❤

First and foremost we have to cut down on screen time, including this video.
If it doesn't add to your life, you absolutely should!
❤
Bro, that's okay if you don't dare to pronounce Mr. Csikszentmihályi's name but at least spell check it before you write it on screen. "Mihaly"
Too long intro then straight into an ad. Lost one

Terrible book. One of the worst I've ever read. 100% cannot recommend.
Why?
