I think I sensed a true panic from Trucker Farmer Dan when you had the remote control for the hopper bottom in your hand and asked if you could push it. LOL!

Enjoyed the video very much. I liked the way he has the truck and trailer set up with, lights, the way he can see the weight on each axle.
They were documentary trips, thank you. You also shed light on those remote areas there in IAWA and Nebraska of the U.S that we here in California absolutely have no idea what do they look like.
This was a good one Kurt because you and Farmer Dan were in my part of the country and I recognized so many of the landmarks you passed. I’ve lived in Blair, NE for 40+ years and my lady friend lives in Fremont, plus we ride our M/C all around the Loess Hills, Sargent Bluff, Pisgah, Mondamin areas during the riding season. If I had seen you and perhaps recognized you in a “strange” truck other than yours I probably wouldn’t have reacted fast enough to even wave. Thanks again though...I really enjoyed the subject matter of this episode!

Super cool your branching out. Hey about the gloves on the hood mount, if you get some cotton gloves, and soak them in hot wax on the oven it’ll work great. Takes that noise right out. Until the glove wears out just re dip them. Love the horn duel too. Love the it don’t float comment.

Loved this video Kurt you and Dan make a good team to watch. You two together are funny. Loved it. Of course he's family so ya get along easy. Shout out to him I love that truck. The stuff he has changed and put in that truck yep she's good to cross the US. I'm with him on the grain hauling time is money and I like those runs. X was grain hauler we didn't run any major roads either. Usually overloaded and wanted to avoid the scales. Think about grain hauling Kurt. Haul what you've got to keep the semi rollin.
I use to do that job. Loaded rail cars, ran an elevator in Cherokee and Larrabee.

Nearly 13 Years ago I went from a box refer down to a grain trailer. Having grown up on the farm and all, I enjoyed the work but that gig wasn't going to work long term....at least for me. Too many fingers in the pie before I got what's left 3 weeks later. That didn't work. I'm sure there are much better deals to be had today.
You're probably right, it's not the best place for Opie, but you'll never know for sure until you try it.
All things considered Kurt.....I think you've got a pretty good deal where you are....but then I don't know the particulars either.

That was a neat video. The old black and gray locomotive was neat. It was a classic GM from the 1950s with a two stroke diesel. Before being retired from the main lines it was one of my favorites types to run.
I’m telling you Kirt, go hazmat. It’s one aspect of trucking where you get treated well. Also the other drivers which you interact with seem to be a higher caliber of person.

My Mom And Dad had 05 379 with that Boat Anchor ⚓️ MBM Accerrt .. there good friend Bruce Mallinson owns Pittsburgh Power in Saxonburg Pennsylvania , Bruce Mallinson tore the motor down and redone it top to bottom teflon-coated ceramic top pistons.. bigger turbo I don't remember what brand .. over 1000 horsepower to the ground.. that truck was a 2005 with a 144 inch ICT sleeper sundowner series from LaGrange Indiana 12 feet long

Farmer Dan and I could sure pick each others brains on this stuff. I haul grass seed and hazelnuts/filberts , cattle feed. with live floor and belt trailers. I have a 2003 w900 with the mbn that I’ve done a lot too and it’s been good. But I also was looking into the 6nz and do a c17 big bore kit. Great video

No they don't. It's a electric pump I think for the traps
Only reason i asked was paperboy trucker recently started at oakley which they had to put a wet kit on, he mentioned when you start there you have two options as newly leased on as end dump or hopper bottom. The way he made it sounded was wet kit everyone got starting out and you picked either of the two i mentioned trailers.
He mentioned pneumatic trailers equipment cost more so only people thats leased there for years get offered that gig.

Grain hauling reminds me of hauling frac sand in a pnuematic. Time is money. And man that truck idles like my t600 I had to sell it had a cat in it.
