One-on-one time with kids is so golden; you can actually enjoy them that way.

Gratitude truly works. Be Grateful for a nice breeze. A meal with your spouse. A nice view. Having work that impacts people. Ive been lucky that I can truly feel grateful for these things, some people struggle a bit more. They are missing out!

In some ways it was easier when someone else told you how much you had to work

Great podcast! Love the philosophical discussion of how much is in enough? 🔥

Interesting topic, Jason. I don't think I understand the angst with getting or creating wealth and I certainly don't feel guilty about it. You are correct on many fronts that there is a point where one has enough income or wealth so why continue to accrue it? For me, it was and still is, a competitive thing. I'm measuring myself and the firm vs. last year and or last month or whatever and that is satisfying. I don't think I realized it on the front end of my career, but I have a competitive nature that needs to be engaged. However, along the way, I've interacted and assisted and helped clients achieve their goals which is just as satisfying. Economic independence is what I call it and I've instilled that in my now grown children.
I do get that it's not the row for everyone's boat. The profession can always use good accountants that don't want to get into the higher levels of a firm or to create their own. Keep up the good work.

Really good video this and bang on. I think my Strive is to set the kids up because otherwise a daily walk to Greggs for my morning mocha doesn't require great wealth, yet feels me with great happiness!! Kids provide a great comfort because whether your rich or not, all they want is your attention, in their eyes not much else matters! Status or proving a point (the latter I think I'm guilty of) don't really mount to anything at the end of the day, other than time away from the things that give us true joy.

100% it is so refreshing how kids don't have the baggage we do, and you can simply take joy from the things they see that give them joy

Love your point about 1 on 1 time with the kids. Mine are 3 and 6 and when 1 on 1 they are the most enjoyable companions.
    When together… that’s another story

It's not enough to be " f u rich." you need to be "my son used my credit card to buy Robux, and it didn't financially cripple me"-rich

I've been rewinding parts of episodes of the Jason Daily pod to see if he pre-plans the specific placement of the ad break each episode with the way he structures these podcasts. I have come to the conclusion that they're not designed that way, 10:30 for example is still addressing the previous thing mentioned before the ad-break. ✍️✍️✍️I AM TAKING NOTES JASON.
