But he often gets meh directors and writers (Suicide Squad and apparently Morbius now) giving him iffy stuff to work with. Like the Joker's main problems weren't his fault ("damaged" tattooed on the forehead, ghetto grill for whatever random reason, etc, none of which were things he could control.)
Morbius was good, just good, it wasn’t as bad as people said… i but it had soooo much more potential. The storyline was basic and predictable and the pacing was trash. But it was fun and entertaining for the most part.

The Joker, I can say it his his fault indeed, but you need to cut him some slack because it must've been difficult for him especially after Heath dominated the role. And Morbius is not his fault at all, he did really good in the movie and did as he was asked to, but it was a bad movie was because of the bad writing and delays.

Watching the movie, my friend (screaming over the currently morbing croud) said the movie had no CGI, which made me morb harder than I ever have. I found Morbius really entertaining to watch. I did enjoy it. Jared Leto and Matt Smith did really well in their roles. But, the storyline was very basic and predictable. Thankfully this could just about be camouflaged by some really cool and tense action scenes. It’s just a shame that the writing let the film down.

I honestly feel like people just love to hate Jared because of his Joker character and people blame him for his look in the movie but he didn’t write the jokers character. He just acted as how they wanted. And I mean after Heath I feel like anyone would also feel very overwhelmed because if he made his joker like Heath’s people would just call him a rip-off so he does something different and I think more fitting for the look that was wanted and he still gets trashed. Every movie I’ve seen with him I and my husband love. Suicide Squad was okay but he wasn’t a lead role. He was a supporting actor in Blade Runner and still did amazing! Currently watching Morbius and it just shocks me that people hate it so much. I love it. My husband loves it and he reminds me of a Hollywood critic sometimes, lmao. I have to say, I REALLY enjoyed Leto's and Smith's performance in Morbius. I told a friend about five minutes into the movie that I immediately just wanted a buddy comedy with those two character. Like, a psychotic horror buddy comedy. But still. They were such a great pair.
However...the writing and editing of the film...
This was one of those films that's frustrating to me because I feel like 90% of people's complaints about the movie could have been fixed with five to twenty extra minutes of character development and scientific explanation. It was not that they lacked great material. It was that the writers and editors missed opportunities.
I couldn't agree more w/your opinions. I felt as the the writers could've made this movie at least a hour longer if they had done their jobs better. They left out critical need to know information that would've filled a couple of narratives in the movie so much better. There's no info about Milo, no explanation about the true romance between Michael Morbius & Martine, there's no clear explanation of the disease Milo & Michael have & how Milo can support Michael's research & we need more info about Michael's young life in general. Basically, the plot & entire rest of the story is good but, it's just so unnecessarily thin. The entire story is too thin & not very well written. Luckily, the movie is brilliantly acted by Leto & the rest of the cast.

Dr. Michael Morbius was the perfect role for him 🦇🖤💜
Such a great actor and has so many roles that he absolutely killed. The list is long but a few of my favorites were as Steve Prefontaine in “Prefontaine,” obviously Rayon from “Dallas Buyers Club,” Vitaly in “Lord of War,” and Harry Goldfarb in “Requiem for a dream.” The stunning thing about his acting is how he truly inhabits the characters, beyond his method acting. He captures a persons inner torment so immaculately that it makes you truly care about the character. One of the truly best actors of his generation or any other generation for that matter!

He gave me such a good time at his 30 Seconds To Mars concerts in the past. Now every time I see him on screen he makes me want to find out more about his character. I think he got it in him to portrait a very interesting multi layered character. I just feel that Marvel and DC did not tap into that potential with the scripts and the execution (editing) of the movies. I wish him the best and hope that he has a good time doing the stuff he does.

I was working as a VIP escort at the Hongkong airport back to 2014 and no offense, but Jared wasn't that famous in HongKong, so me and my team didn't know him as a celebrity, I was waiting at the gatedoor of flight and hold a sign with his full name on it to waited for him. i feel stupid now when I think back. He saw the sign and whispered a F word, he didn't mean to be rude coz we weren't being professional and didn't even check his name on internet, and the flight was from mainland China, no many ppl know him but it still had some foreigners approached us and asked him for pictures, he was being humble and told them not a good time. my job was to escort him to another flight fly to LA. and we had a few hrs before his transit flight, so he asked me to sit down with him at a restaurant and waited for his vegan pizza. I still rmb he asked me "do you love your job", like i said, i was a customer service and he was my VIP, so I replied "yes, I enjoy working as a customer service" but I know I don't, he asked me do I not know him and never heard of 30seconds to Mars, these question were quite embarrassing, but i told him the truth this time that i really dont know any of it. So he showed me a few pictures of him being on stage and said I should go to his concert someday. Before he got in his flight, he asked if I want to talk a selfie with him. And of coz, I did, it was my pleasure and I still keep those selfie with me. Anyways, this is a memorable experience and yrs later, I am working as a special needs educator and I perform on stage as a hobby, finally doing sth I enjoy to do, nothing much, just want to share with you guys, "do what you love".
