Not exactly, but close. Some drugs cause a release of our own neurotransmitters, like MDMA triggers a release of serotonin. Things like Psilocybin and LSD are neurotransmitter analogs. They trigger nerve cells like a neurotransmitter but do not really trigger the release of existing transmitters. In either case you are causing your brain to process things differently, and the brain is plastic, new connections and patterns of firings are formed and can be retriggered long after even without the help of psychotropics.

Keep it going OTT! and I wish one day I can make it to at least half your level.

As a music composer , albeit a rusty one, making music like this can be difficult to get inspiration and even harder to put that down into a track. You have an idea of what you want the track to sound like but can offen end up on a completely different path. Be interested to know if Ott keeps to the plan or if he goes off on tangent as I do....

Masha Mizzi I have to agree. I respectfully think Shpongle is the most over-rated musician in psybient music. I don't know why Shpongle has always been king in this genre. I'm not hating, still think Shpongle is good, but there is so much beauty out there in psybient/psydub. Shpongle is not even in my top 10 for psybient producers/music... But, as the saying goes: Different Strokes For Different Folks.

"The instrumental tracks are typically drenched in sound effects such as echo, reverberation, with instruments and vocals dropping in and out of the mix" (wiki). more "The many-layered sounds with varying echoes and volumes are often said to create soundscapes, or sound sculptures, drawing attention to the shape and depth of the space between sounds as well as to the sounds themselves" etc etc. bass, drums, echoes, many effects, re-works. this is dub, and OTT is psychedelic too, Psydub, for friends ;) IMHO ...
Ott has always been one of if not my favorite Psydub Downtempo Artist of all time, I love his music so much, and i love every song hes ever produced so when i go to listen to his stuff I always just pick whatever album of his I'm feeling and then just listen to the album all the way through, His Music is that good! His stuff is so unique to even it's own genre! It's a shame that that this music is considered weird to Normies that listen to Mainstream stuff, not that theres anything wrong with that, people can like whatever music they want I just use the word normie because well...i dont know about anyone else but for me personally I'm the only person I know that likes this stuff, and whenever I show this stuff to someone they always say my music is weird lol pretty much everyone I know isnt into this type of music or even knows about it and it kinda makes me feel different lol, its whatever though I honestly just wish more people could see and appreciate this Psychedelic music cuz it's just such a masterpiece, I can say the same for Shpongle as well!

There are many erudite & eloquent synopsis of the music of OTT here but when all's said & done it's shitkicking stuff that has your feet dancing on the ground & your mind dancing amongst the stars , audio majesty at it's very best
I've just discovered OTT, via Shpongle and Infected Mushroom (two sides of my coin, as it were). Loving all of these - Skylon, Mir, and now this. Have to say this one sounds like it was mastered a bit hotter than the others. I hope it isn't too fatiguing to listen to on headphones, as I do that a lot at work (I write software, and this sort of music is great for that, as it happens!).
I would love to know what inspired you to compose 'Unit Delta Plus.' I'm amazed that a song can cause the same sensation as being on acid. That chord progression, the instruments, and the sounds you chose are the living feeling of being on a trip. God is incredible. I had to tell you this for a couple of years now. I'm not sure if you'll read this but hank you, OTT.
Sounds like OTT has gone back to his roots and infused his style with the techniques that he has experimented with over the years. Very nice and a solid entry from one of the pioneers of dub.
ott is a first electronic music artist who made me start to listen electronic music when i was over 50 years old. I loved any good stuff on the dance venue but to actually listen it home was something ive tried and disliked. As with any style of music theres a lot of crap music and i was lucky to come across ott in right time( i clicked on his album by pure chance). My, as i thought just belief that real music must be perfomed by people on instruments was so silly. Now i love beside Ott few others: beatfarmer, beats bizzare, allwoods, smooth, johhny blue...All these artists are real music and not some sound makers to enhance substances effect as i thought of all electronic music. Of course thats too. Im not bitter that until recently this music wasnt on my usual list as punk, post punk, rap, rock, metal at all and new found stuff didnt replace my favs. One person dont have a chance to hear all great music in his lifetime anyway. If anybody read it do tell me ott1 track on fair children is such a similar idea and a tune of song by braian jonstown massacre, not whole of otts track body but a middle part. Song is a tune for a serial called Boardwalk empire. So my steps: I deided few couple of years ago to try listen dub because ages ago i was at some dub gig with some people i was frienldly with. Was strange for me because vast majority of people were black( it was in oxford so as you imagine theres not that many blacks in oxford uk. Not many whites like music or what,i didnt figured out, moreover in oxford clubs ive seen one or two blacs on dance night that all. I loved music, it was dub, rhytm not for energetic dance. I didnt listened dub before and i checked it out since maybe 20 years. It was ok but a bore me quickly and for some reason i typed psykodelic dub, tried few artists but didnt stopped on any just hopped them. Then ott hooked me and i after 1 album i listened all of his available. I dont care if a description of my doings sounded boring. It was a pleasure to retrace my steps which lead me to huge land of music which simply didnt exist for me until recently. Love and respect to Ott. He is great. And i think im not alone at my age to think that electronic music somewhat in separate box because my usual tastes in music narrow. I mean clash is really is different from fine young cannibals but i never cared if someone was telling me that they think its pop therefore crap. Im not even ashamed that i could listen some greenday or offsping, Dont tell me of theyr value as an artists. I know, its simply some of theyr songs well done and catchy and dont induce puke. Sometimes its enough. My mate a proper brit punk and a musician himself hated these fake american punks but liked avrile lavigne. Neither of us would buy these soundmakers but didnt jumped to stereo fast to switch it off when played. I mean some of these people are real pain inducers. Like jenifer lopes black eyed peas and a lot more is a torture to accidentally come across. But aha is really nice( still never buy it or pay to see) but nice guys. Peace and Love to you.
I loved everything Ott did (including the various collaborations) before this album came along. Fairchildren just never clicked with me like his other 3 studio albums + the Baby Robot EP did. I know many probably prefer it to his earlier work, but I sometimes wonder if anyone else was disappointed with it? I just listened to Baby Robot & Mr. Balloon Hands before trying this one again just to see if it sounded any better after a break. No change (except that Baby Robot sounded better than ever!).

"The instrumental tracks are typically drenched in sound effects such as echo, reverberation, with instruments and vocals dropping in and out of the mix" (wiki). more "The many-layered sounds with varying echoes and volumes are often said to create soundscapes, or sound sculptures, drawing attention to the shape and depth of the space between sounds as well as to the sounds themselves" etc etc.
bass, drums, echoes, many effects, re-works. this is dub, and OTT is psychedelic too, Psydub, for friends ;) IMHO ...
Ott has always been one of if not my favorite Psydub Downtempo Artist of all time, I love his music so much, and i love every song hes ever produced so when i go to listen to his stuff I always just pick whatever album of his I'm feeling and then just listen to the album all the way through, His Music is that good! His stuff is so unique to even it's own genre! It's a shame that that this music is considered weird to Normies that listen to Mainstream stuff, not that theres anything wrong with that, people can like whatever music they want I just use the word normie because well...i dont know about anyone else but for me personally I'm the only person I know that likes this stuff, and whenever I show this stuff to someone they always say my music is weird lol pretty much everyone I know isnt into this type of music or even knows about it and it kinda makes me feel different lol, its whatever though I honestly just wish more people could see and appreciate this Psychedelic music cuz it's just such a masterpiece, I can say the same for Shpongle as well!

There are many erudite & eloquent synopsis of the music of OTT here but when all's said & done it's shitkicking stuff that has your feet dancing on the ground & your mind dancing amongst the stars , audio majesty at it's very best
I've just discovered OTT, via Shpongle and Infected Mushroom (two sides of my coin, as it were). Loving all of these - Skylon, Mir, and now this. Have to say this one sounds like it was mastered a bit hotter than the others. I hope it isn't too fatiguing to listen to on headphones, as I do that a lot at work (I write software, and this sort of music is great for that, as it happens!).

This is the third album I have listened to from OTT today. I love the low bass notes, along with all the other sounds that get thrown in the mix.

I would love to know what inspired you to compose 'Unit Delta Plus.' I'm amazed that a song can cause the same sensation as being on acid. That chord progression, the instruments, and the sounds you chose are the living feeling of being on a trip. God is incredible. I had to tell you this for a couple of years now. Sounds like OTT has gone back to his roots and infused his style with the techniques that he has experimented with over the years. Very nice and a solid entry from one of the pioneers of dub.
ott is a first electronic music artist who made me start to listen electronic music when i was over 50 years old. I loved any good stuff on the dance venue but to actually listen it home was something ive tried and disliked. As with any style of music theres a lot of crap music and i was lucky to come across ott in right time( i clicked on his album by pure chance). My, as i thought just belief that real music must be perfomed by people on instruments was so silly. Now i love beside Ott few others: beatfarmer, beats bizzare, allwoods, smooth, johhny blue...All these artists are real music and not some sound makers to enhance substances effect as i thought of all electronic music. Of course thats too. Im not bitter that until recently this music wasnt on my usual list as punk, post punk, rap, rock, metal at all and new found stuff didnt replace my favs. One person dont have a chance to hear all great music in his lifetime anyway. If anybody read it do tell me ott1 track on fair children is such a similar idea and a tune of song by braian jonstown massacre, not whole of otts track body but a middle part. Song is a tune for a serial called Boardwalk empire. So my steps: I deided few couple of years ago to try listen dub because ages ago i was at some dub gig with some people i was frienldly with. Was strange for me because vast majority of people were black( it was in oxford so as you imagine theres not that many blacks in oxford uk. Not many whites like music or what,i didnt figured out, moreover in oxford clubs ive seen one or two blacs on dance night that all. I loved music, it was dub, rhytm not for energetic dance. I didnt listened dub before and i checked it out since maybe 20 years. It was ok but a bore me quickly and for some reason i typed psykodelic dub, tried few artists but didnt stopped on any just hopped them. Then ott hooked me and i after 1 album i listened all of his available. I dont care if a description of my doings sounded boring. It was a pleasure to retrace my steps which lead me to huge land of music which simply didnt exist for me until recently. Love and respect to Ott. He is great. And i think im not alone at my age to think that electronic music somewhat in separate box because my usual tastes in music narrow. I mean clash is really is different from fine young cannibals but i never cared if someone was telling me that they think its pop therefore crap. Im not even ashamed that i could listen some greenday or offsping, Dont tell me of theyr value as an artists. I know, its simply some of theyr songs well done and catchy and dont induce puke. Sometimes its enough. My mate a proper brit punk and a musician himself hated these fake american punks but liked avrile lavigne. Neither of us would buy these soundmakers but didnt jumped to stereo fast to switch it off when played. I mean some of these people are real pain inducers. Like jenifer lopes black eyed peas and a lot more is a torture to accidentally come across. But aha is really nice( still never buy it or pay to see) but nice guys. Peace and Love to you.

I loved everything Ott did (including the various collaborations) before this album came along. Fairchildren just never clicked with me like his other 3 studio albums + the Baby Robot EP did. I know many probably prefer it to his earlier work, but I sometimes wonder if anyone else was disappointed with it? I just listened to Baby Robot & Mr. Balloon Hands before trying this one again just to see if it sounded any better after a break. No change (except that Baby Robot sounded better than ever!).
