I really enjoy that you are not as hyped as many youtubers feel they need to be. Your excitement seems genuine so it's not as draining to me to watch your builds, if that makes sense. I also enjoy how you explain why you build something, for example to make an attention grabbing point. I studied filmmaking and your views are spot on :) I love thoughtfullness like that!

Thanks for giving us high quality and relaxing time Rudi! Just for answering your question, what makes me click the most is uniqueness. I know unique projects require a lot of time and creativity but after hundreds of videos I believe it is what it's needed to keep people entertained and get more views

Learning things as I watch you build and design is what made me click and stay. Worked through Zoo Sicily and now making my way back. I have learnt so much already! Grouping still kicks my ass sometimes, but will learn.

Yet another amazing build! To be honest, I watch every single one of your Planet Zoo videos regardless of the thumbnail. You're my favorite PZ creator and I love to watch the way you work in creating such thoughtful, beautiful, functional habitats and buildings. It's inspiring! Keep on doing such great creative work, and I'm positive you'll reach 100k in no time at all.

Great wolf habitat Rudi, plenty of space for them to run around and the viewing area's are spot on, all the rocks and decorations just make it look so real. to answer your question about what makes me click on your video, well, all it really takes is the notification to say that you've put up another vid, I don't need to be drawn in by a thumbnail, because I know that whatever you build it will be well planned/designed and executed, I really like the fact that you try and make it as realistic as possible and you do your research. I've learnt so much from watching you and Deladysigner building habitats, I wish Paulsley would come back to RUclips, I have OCD and watching his vids was a relief to know that i'm not the only person that tries to line things up perfectly.
but, if I hadn't watched your vids before, the thing that would pull me in so to speak would be Uniqueness, as Andall suggested already.
I tried making an under ground creepy crawly cave, it came out ok, but I'd love to see how you would create an underground cave system for exhibits leading to different habitats.

Adding to that last sentence, I'd love if you could show in a more detailed way HOW you build things. It's hard to see, which pieces you pick (and use for a completely different purpose) in the sped-up speedbuilt videos. Your builds are awesome, but I can't really use them for inspiration because I can't really see HOW you do it. If that makes any sense. Show us your secrets!! 😉

The videos i find myself clicking on the most have 3 things in common; 1: Titles that imply creative ideas, ex. Planet Zoo Jumanji habitat. 2: Thumbnails that aren't over cluttered with text, logos, faces, arrows and it has an image that relevant to the tile. 3: The video is under 30 minutes. If 1&2 suggest an interesting enough topic/idea, i will often click the video.
That probably doesn't help you much since you cover all 3 points most of the time.

Regarding your question on what makes me click your videos over other creators. I'd say its a combination of interest in what you've accomplished creatively in the game (Planet Zoo, JWE2, etc) and personality. I started watching your content about 2 years ago and stuck with your channel because you clearly dedicate a lot of thought and time into your projects. But on top of that I enjoy your relaxed approach to commentary (I think speed builds are naturally relaxing so your approach to commentary works really well for this kind of content). I also like that you generally stick to your projects, as I think seeing a zoo or park develop into something amazing is a great experience for the viewer. Thumbnails aren't personally that important to me, but the title can definitely draw me in if it describes something I haven't seen before. Hope that addresses what you were asking! Thanks for all the great content over these years :)

    Really love this!
I watch every PZ video on your channel since I found you. So as most of the comments say already, I don't need a catchy title or whatnot to click lol. But I reckon new people need it. Sorry I can't help you much in that regard :/

Hey Rudi, don’t worry to much about Thumbs or what images to post. I like your vids bcs of the gentle person you seem to be. I love it even that in your early videos sometimes it’s a bit chaotic or things don’t work out as they should, I think it’s funny cause I recognise those moments so much. At the same time I learn a lot. As of your question about human behaviour in zoos compared to natural reserves I think ppl in zoos consider themselves as paying customers for a good they claimed good money for compared to natural parks where their goal might be to reconnect to nature. As for what more viewers is concerned I have absolutely no idea since I’m not a RUclipsr and I don’t even have an instagram account, what generally seems to make me happier. I would however very much like to enter a contest if you have one 🙃. I stay a secret fan, good luck and thx for your vids. Liebe Grüße aus Belgien

Suggestion for your thumbnail, Deladysigner has hers much more zoomed in either with the animal in foreground or the animal missing completely
I think the newer style you're using for thumbnails lately should draw in more viewers, but for games like JWE2 (newer games) Have that written in the thumbnail, that should boost the algorithm rather then just a logo.
Aside from that I have been watching you on and off for over a year due to my laptop not being able to run Planzoo + GCSEs, your great to listen to and watch whilst chilling between revision, love your channel and your lost aqualand series, keep growing the channel 👍!

I can not only learn something new about the game and get inspiration but aalso I like your voice. The reason I watch your video's is not for the thumbnails, or even the notifications, but just because of your great work and passion for what you do. It makes me relax and forget the troubles of the day.
So every evening, I go to youtube and check your channel. Even if you didn't post a new video, I look through the playlists and watch an old one (that I have already seen 100x, but that doesn't even matter)

I think people behave better in reserves is mostly because of stereotypes regarding zoos. Zoos are much more popular, movies portray it in some way, it's more accesible and less restricted. Reserves and rescue centers sometimes open for the public and I think this people visit the place as a group with someone guiding them. Reserves are also more secluded meaning that animals have more private space and sometimes barely even appear in front of people

If it is possible, can you upload those amazing shop counters to the workshop, you made in this video? :) They are perfect!

  • @TheLittleJotunn

First of all, great video and a beautiful build!
As for the clickbait question; I might be a bit unorthodox as I don't fall for generic clickbait very often. When it comes to videos, I'm more likely to click something that looks cinematic or staged in a scenographic manner. I'm a theatre kid who used to read National Geographic as a kid so that might give you a better image of my preferences 😅. Titles also play a part of course. I prefer titles that are direct, but not too direct. Wordplay makes titles more fun, for example, but if they're not relevant to the video itself, it'll have the opposite effect in the long run.
But all in all, something beautiful that looks almost staged will always pull my attention. Scenography is a passion of mine. Just ask the throne in my living room 😅

Hey, Rudi!! I just wanted to say that I really love your videos, and honestly what I really love about your videos are how chill and relaxing they are, and also just how insanely beautiful your builds are. I really love your combination of speedbuilds and some real time touring as well! This series is actally my favorite series of yours because of that, but also because of the uniqueness of the park. Not only are you doing a more natural, reserve type park, but you are also drawing on stuff that you actually know and have expereince with, and that makes it even more fun! Hearing you talk about the wild life reserves and stuff is really awesome, and makes me wish we had something similar in my area.
So, yeah, what originally drew me to this series was that! But all your ideas and concepts are very unique, and that's some of the best part of your channel.
    Good luck growing your channel!

on the theme of behavior, i think it's due to a reserve's purpose, they're not primarily dedicated to entretain or teach, that's a secondary thing, the main goal being conservation efforrs. This affects what kind of people will go there and the kinds of attitudes held, since reserves are "doing their part for the community" people have respect towards them. Just a thought tho, i may be wrong

I love the PlanZoo series you do. I think recreating a real-world thing in another game (like planzoo) always peaks my interest most and is how I usually "meet" new channels and yt'ers. But the ones I follow have chill, kind and sometimes chaotic vibes. (For example the Simstuber James Turner is both chill and chaotic as hell)
    Hope this helps!

I like watching your builds while I'm working. Its easy to follow. I mainly watch the videos that are of this length, but that depends on my mood and what I'm doing, so I can watch longer stuff sometimes. Thumbnails don't really sway me one way or the other, as I'm subscribed so I'll always consider watching regardless.

  • @OGSmurff

I watch every single one of your planet zoo videos regardless of the thumbnail and title because of what i know about you from your previous videos. Your projects are always realistic enough that they believable and they way in which you create those projects are always very inspiring. The main reason I found your channel all these years ago is I always like watching people’s zoo tour videos of when they go to real life zoo and the algorithm put a video of the the first tour you did of Yosemite valley in my feed and of course it peaked my interest because I thought it was a real zoo tour and the I came to find out about you and the game planet zoo. I still like watching zoo tours of other members in the planet zoo community to get inspiration for my own. A small goal of mine is to have one of the planet zoo creators do a tour of my zoo with every animal in it when I eventually complete the zoo. I don’t make my own planet zoo content currently as I focus on creating content on other games but maybe I should do some planet zoo content. Always love your work. Keep it up!

    (subconscious message: OTTERS)
I believe it's not so much as that people are more respectful in wildreserves; but rather that wildreserves attract more nature-respecting people. People who have little respect for nature's domestic beauties (deers, rocks, trees) and aren't happy untill they at least saw some lions, elephants and crocodiles directly served to them on a silver platter, are not gonna be visiting a woodland wildreserve.
May I suggest adding a family of otters to the river? They are rare, but native I believe. I hope there are otters in the game, I don't own it myself

re: 9:23 I feel like there's a vibe with zoos as entertainment/consumerist spaces versus parks being more respectable as places of nature and such, if that makes sense? like at zoos you've got merchandise and food/drinks and other stuff so I feel like people act like jerks because they feel entitled to the space rather than parks where they may feel more like they're guests or that it should be respected cause they're in "real" nature.

I also watch just all your planzoo video's. That said, I like your current thumbnails better than, say, DeLady's for example. They seem too bright and that subconsciously tells me that the episode will be loud and fast. Which is bs, because DeLady also makes quiet and calm episodes. But that is why I click yours faster, they seem like they will be relaxed.
