As always, you do a fine reaction that adds just enough acidic comments to get me to laugh and not take too much too seriously. Again, thank you, Mark. This was fun.

Great use of modal scales, imho, which sets them apart (in my limited experience) from run-o-the-mill metal tedium.
It was reminiscent for me of those dreams when you’ve played too much Tomb Raider before dropping off.
    I actually quite enjoyed it.

Edgar Winter could make the Keys look cool! He invented the strap to make the keyboard mobile in the 70’s.

Frankenstein live would be good one to react to.

I have listened to groups who have singers that growl, not my thing really, but when it’s nuanced, it can add emotion to the song, but in my opinion, a lot of growling is there for the sake of it, just because they can.

please react to "Judgement day" by Lovebites, they are a metal band from Japan

If you enjoy the music per se and just hate the growling, I would reccomend the song "Alga" of Ignea. It does not have harsh vocals in it, but an orchestra and really showcases Helle's voice.
Also just a little background on the influences of this concept album:
It is all about an ukrainian travel writer and photogropher Sofia Yablonska who travelled in around the 1920's and 30's to Morocco and China among other. This song in particular is in reference to her time travelling to new lands, being a nomad in a sense and the dangers that lurked on that journey. The "middleastern influences" in the melody are therfore no coincidence ;)

The guy on the keytar does indeed do all the synths but just hated standing around during live shows... that's why he switched to keytar. And trust me, Metal fans are used to something. You remind me of the time when I was first confronted with Metal music and I thought the same about the growling initially. Now I love it. What can I say, it's an acquired taste like whisky. And yeah Metal also knows tempo changes and such, and people love that stuff too. Crazy amirite? 🤣Your reaction made me laugh but no, they shouldn't change their stuff.

Amazing band. Arguably had the best album of 2023. If your not nice to them it'll be like you're slagging of my granny.

The background music is good, at least IMO. Would make up for a nice Hell-themed level in a Doom game or mod. The female singing is also good. Now guess what's the thing about the song I don't like. XD

Metal bands with Keytars? I've seen half a dozen or so, Alestorm being the most well known. You do know Alestorm I assume, you are Scots.
Have to agree harsh vocals are not always used to good effect and a lot of Eastern Europe Metal bands seem to be jumping on Tatiana's band wagon.

I just realized something with this song, the reason I like so many Japanese metal bands is because I can't understand the lyrics. Bands like Cran Arcanaria or Magistina Saga can sing about whatever and I don't cringe listening to them. This I liked the music, her singing voice was good, the growl wasn't my favorite but it didn't kill it for me, the black metalish lyrics being sung seriously, I just loose interest.

Yeah see, that’s where I always fall down with these kinda bands. A lot of the lyrics just makes my guts curl 😂
