Eous mode in story missions is such a blessing. You cannot hate the little guy!...well, except in major platform areas that require precise jumps, that is.

I thought I liked TVs until I replayed the story without them XD. I still think they are great for unique puzzles and even large hollow explorations, as long as there are no "Stop and talk to me" screens.
Loved the video! Im glad the devs have really put in work into revitalizing zzz. It's really paying off with the community! Cant wait what they add in 1.5, I've already heard insane things.
I played old missions to get rewards from cleaning them in difficult mode and it made me realize how little actual game was there. Begining missions were all just TV, people didn't get to actually play the game. I remember agonizing over how long and slow paced some missions were but when I only played combat parts of them all missions combined had like half an hour at most. Finally reaching sons of calydon part was kinda crazy, quality suddenly jumps up to a whole new level.
I swear that zzz feels like it's from another company and not under the name of "hoyoverse." It's seriously ridiculous, the game shows no stop of improvement even the trailer, how the storytelling and gameplay is improving, how generous they are, and the fact that THEY actually listen to ALL the players complaints and fix what ever problem they had, just to make the players happy, even if they had to redo all the past story throughout 1.0-1.3 (I have a second account and played it, they seriously removed the TV mode and have to rewrite all the story quest that have a TV mode in the past and changed it. When I returned and started going through Chapter 4, I realised that there was a lack of TV Modes, I didn't even realise they rewrote the story to make the TV modes secluded from the main story line. I was enjoying the story more without even knowing why... After watching the stream though, I was immediately amazed with how cleverly they handled this. You can still play with the TV Mode and there won't be much deviation with your overall understanding of the story. But it is a lot snappier without the TV mode. The setting of ZZZ is portrayed as similar to the 80s where black and white TV and semi-urbanization is in progress and it work (somehow) so the TV system fits so well. Those aside, the fact that 1.4 give the player option is definitely a good choice for the game and the combat system slowly moving away from holding your hand is also a bonus for "engaging and fun" fight, and compared to back then, the newer Agent is much smoother to play and teamwork flow much more efficient now, some Agent still have that slowness to them but everyone have their own fighting styles so.... whatever I guess. When it comes to the tv, it makes me feel more immersed than the bangboo travel. this is mainly due to the tvs being how the phaethon sees, one to control eos and the other to see the immediate surroundings eos or others can see. plus, the tvs are in the background of the hdd system at phaethon's shop.

Yeah wuwa needs all the support it can get coz it's not doing too hot atm, it's been on a downward trend in terms of revenue, hopefully 2.0 can take it back on its feet coz the last thing that hoyo games need is losing one of its competitors.
I've been at peace that TV mode does help with pulling people in, because a lot of them doesn't dig the gameplay, fine. I do believe it is a unique way to tell a story, some parts of Ballet Twins are a bit tedious, yes, but unique. Running around as a character doing fetch quests and battle in the same map 40 times is not as fun to me. Well, it doesn't matter anyways, TV enjoyers are looked upon like monsters for liking what the majority doesn't. At this point, as long as ZZZ thrives, I would roll with it.
Side note: Even as a TV enjoyer, Arpeggio Fault is ass. The worst part of the TV amplified to horrifying levels. It took me way too long to complete all those goddamn levels
tv mode is good for side gameplay, like the hollow zero nineveh. ur move actually matter for better/worst result. but i got bored every week only fight nineveh lmao, they should make boss rotation for this mode, imo
...honestly a lot of the past and present grievances feel like whining. Also....TV sections aren't gone just more moderate and/or moved to hollow zero. The fact that your comment about nobody liking the tv even tho it was always 50/50 makes you sound like an ass as well... That being said, hope you can enjoy the game more now. More players are always great.
Don't take me too seriously there. That part about the TVs was a joke, that's why I followed up to that saying "On a serous note". Don't worry. I know not everyone thinks the same way, and it's obviously not factual for someone to be wrong to like something like that. Figured the added hyperbole might make that more apparent....
@Endeavor17 Yeah im sorry if i came of too strong. The fight against the people who call zzz goonerbait, lazy, etc has gotten better as of late as well, so i guess i was a bit on edge after the last few months dealing with nonsense or actuall lies by some people....especially with the current VA strike going on
@@FallenDemonFly Nah, you good. I was just explaining since I didn't want you to walk away from the video feeling insulted, if you did. Not my intent. Cheers.
I wouldn't say it was 50/50 split. Its been really polarizing and disliked since the 2022 beta. Don't get me wrong, i don't think you or anyone else is wrong for liking the TV, I myself was quite indifferent not necessarily like or disliking it. Hoyo however has been trying to rework the mode for years with playtesting. You can't blame Hoyo for not trying here, but they observed a majority dislike for the mode since closed beta, dislike during surveys, as well as observing completion rates of various missions to see what the player base was interacting with most. They have found a stark contrast in completion rates across all platforms for TV mode interknot missions and combat missions. Don't take my word at face value, but I had heard from play testers that The Mystery of Arpreggio Fault kind've decided the fate of the TV mode. Hoyo aimed to see how players would react to a purely TV mode event with high reward incentive to see if players could cross the threshold into liking the TV mode. Apparently, if the event had had done well, interaction wise, then Hoyo would have moved forward to improve the TV mode as a whole. However, it was still super polarizing with mixed completion rates to this day. That said, I would be sad to see it go, I really hope it doesn't completely fall out. As it stands, I don't even think their new version of the mode is a good substitute. I think that the players who genuinely liked it should still have enough content with it to sink their teeth into.
@@user-mh6ie9wm6m >had heard from play testers that The Mystery of Arpreggio Fault kind've decided the fate of the TV mode. lmao I rarely heard people said anything positively good about it, even those proclaimed loving tv mode but dev kinda did it dirty there if it were true, even though I like it but can't deny it's designed poorly with only loots mechanic and no puzzles at all so I can understand why people said it was just a time sink and not carrying what's great about tv mode that event as always, just another hit or miss like usual, when the tv mode works, it works really well, when it doesn't, people can only suffer
I've been playing the game for a while now and I've gotten through the entire story so far. I really didn't enjoy the tv mode, this update kind of makes me want to go back and replay the story to try out the new way of doing the missions without it
tv mode was a story-telling direction they made for the game and it didnt really hit majority of the audiences especially those used to open-world games. I liked TV mode but I agree the rubberbanding between puzzle to visual novel dialogue to combat really is tedious and I think it has to do with the lack of predictability of when it's fight time or when it's read time. They took a gamble by using story telling mechanism that honestly made sense i.e phaeton sees the hollow through kind of a chessboard via tvs which unfortunately didnt work out but I hope more developers would still try to take more liberties. Now we're kind of back to pre-fab maps with event triggers at certain locations (dialogue or combat) which is how HI3rd and PGR does it. coz its that or Visual novel style story telling like GFL2 or Blue Archive which is probably less popular to the greater audience they try to target (as well as not utilizing an already built 3d engine)
I liked the TVs cause it was a meta board game. If your not a board game fan or didnt see what they were trying to do with them I can see why you wouldnt like them.
the bashing of TV mode enjoyers was uncalled for 😅but granted, the points you made about how the new implementation is more engaging made sense. Miyabi is fun, but I'm not sure if I'd say she "combines all the best aspects". Miyabi gameplay is mostly looking at the HUD in the top left corner to keep track of your frost stacks and then based on that, decide what attack to do next to optimize frost stack consumption and generation. outside of that, Miyabi almost always has s so you hardly ever need to actually engage and look at the enemy to dodge or assist... after playing Miyabi for a couple of days/weeks now, I actually felt like I've gotten worse at reacting to enemies with attacker agents where dodging and positioning matters a lot more. the spectacle is nice and all, but combat with her is just so low stakes due to her crazy number of invulnerability frames that I feel like over time, maining a different agent will be more satisfying.
arpeggio fault was really bad for TV mode enjoyers. it was interesting for like the first two levels and tolerable for the first stage, but realizing every stage afterwards had next to zero difference except a very minor modifier... like brother, you messed up bad when TV mode enjoyers like me think it sucks. i will say though, lost void is less interesting to me than withering garden. the encounters and price difference zones are too sparse, and there is just the one region. I mean, we got all these new map region types now, even if it doesn't make sense, it's Hollow Zero, people will accept it. bringer is a better fight than nineveh tho, god nineveh sucks balls
Yeah, it's a game in which you have to put like 30-50 hours to like it. Or maybe you will still be disappointed. It hits so good for the people who will find it enjoyable after the unbearable slog idk 😂 EDIT: Oh, I see they reworked older missions to remove a lot of boring TV, stuff. Sad that I already suffered through TV and won't be able to experience past missions without it 😅
I am very happy the tv isnt as prominent. It is still there but not as heavy as it was before. Tv mode broke my immersion from the story personally. I get what the team was trying to acconplish, but it just didnt cut it for me. I found the tv mode boring. I remember dreading anything to do with tv mode. I am loving the direction they are going so far with the recents updates. The story blew me away.
I like the tv mode actually. I tried some of the older stages and some needed better imagery that said I only ran 1 stage here and 1 there instead of an entire storyline together, also...I really don't like the Eous platform game, I keep falling so many times it isn’t funny, I'm not that good at platforming in any game. Also they tried too hard at selling Miyabi, it was fine in the new hollow, but also putting the same things in the new Hollow event, (and me doing it twice by helping someone else) really tired me of using her, thankfully I'm skipping her, but they really should have been more careful with that...
the problem with the game is that it can't even keep you interested for more than 2 hrs after you start playing it, i didn't even play enough to get my first 5 star in the game, just didn't keep me enticed to play it longer.
You folks talk big and creative about tv sections but it's so bad even in Hollow Zero. I myself glad the TV section is reduced to large amount. Even in 1.4 story, no tv is needed. Stop asking for things passed on and grow up already.
Glad to hear the game has improved. I still have no interest in going back as I find the actual gameplay to be really boring -- and it's silly that people have to do the VR stages manually to spend their AP. The gachas I play respect your time and include a skip/sweep or auto-battle system when it comes to farming (content you've already perfect-cleared before). I don't see it getting back in my rotation -- Arknights, Blue Archive and Honkai: Star Rail are more than good enough.. and HSR will be the first to go if a new gacha hits right. Still, nice video and great hearing that ZZZ players have been getting much needed improvements. When they add the Miyabi ears extension mod it will go up one tier.
@@topbossgamer15 if we think about it this way, any games are a form of rhythm game. When a attack comes at you and you press block/parry/dodge or when a enemy head comes into your crosshair, it's basically the same as clicking in a rhythm game.

Side note: Even as a TV enjoyer, Arpeggio Fault is ass. The worst part of the TV amplified to horrifying levels. It took me way too long to complete all those goddamn levels
TV mode is very time consuming
tv mode is good for side gameplay, like the hollow zero nineveh. ur move actually matter for better/worst result. but i got bored every week only fight nineveh lmao, they should make boss rotation for this mode, imo
...honestly a lot of the past and present grievances feel like whining.
@Endeavor17
Yeah im sorry if i came of too strong.
@@user-mh6ie9wm6m >had heard from play testers that The Mystery of Arpreggio Fault kind've decided the fate of the TV mode.
lmao I rarely heard people said anything positively good about it, even those proclaimed loving tv mode
but dev kinda did it dirty there if it were true, even though I like it but can't deny it's designed poorly with only loots mechanic and no puzzles at all so I can understand why people said it was just a time sink and not carrying what's great about tv mode
that event as always, just another hit or miss like usual, when the tv mode works, it works really well, when it doesn't, people can only suffer
I think my hot take is that Yanagi and Asaba are more fun to play than Miyabi
I've been playing the game for a while now and I've gotten through the entire story so far. I really didn't enjoy the tv mode, this update kind of makes me want to go back and replay the story to try out the new way of doing the missions without it
Tvs are good for "hacking" quests
ZZZ is definitely a great Gacha game.
tv mode was a story-telling direction they made for the game and it didnt really hit majority of the audiences especially those used to open-world games.
The only time i liked tv mode was with the RPG mission, really fun but once in dozens of hours
the bashing of TV mode enjoyers was uncalled for 😅but granted, the points you made about how the new implementation is more engaging made sense.
Don’t worry. That “bashing” was a joke. It’s why I follow up with “In all seriousness” to imply I wasn’t before.
arpeggio fault was really bad for TV mode enjoyers. it was interesting for like the first two levels and tolerable for the first stage, but realizing every stage afterwards had next to zero difference except a very minor modifier...
like brother, you messed up bad when TV mode enjoyers like me think it sucks.
i will say though, lost void is less interesting to me than withering garden. the encounters and price difference zones are too sparse, and there is just the one region. I mean, we got all these new map region types now, even if it doesn't make sense, it's Hollow Zero, people will accept it.
bringer is a better fight than nineveh tho, god nineveh sucks balls
1.5 is gonna go harder
I hated the TV mode I avoided all missions if I could that had the TV missions that alone put me off but I kept playing because da combat is amazing
Yeah, it's a game in which you have to put like 30-50 hours to like it. Or maybe you will still be disappointed. It hits so good for the people who will find it enjoyable after the unbearable slog idk 😂
EDIT: Oh, I see they reworked older missions to remove a lot of boring TV, stuff.
10:00 how tf did ur bro play i thought u were only able to turn off tv after chapter 2
Hoyo is just a small indie game company afterall
the problem with the game is that it can't even keep you interested for more than 2 hrs after you start playing it, i didn't even play enough to get my first 5 star in the game, just didn't keep me enticed to play it longer.
Make Zenless Gameplay vids
i will say i despised the twin ballet towers with the TV. it was a pain in the ass and was 90% tv navi.
You folks talk big and creative about tv sections but it's so bad even in Hollow Zero.
I myself glad the TV section is reduced to large amount.
Even in 1.4 story, no tv is needed.
Stop asking for things passed on and grow up already.
Tectone recommended me to play ZZZ 1.4 update for my first time and I am telling after I finished Chapter 5 I M6W0 Miyabi
"tectone recommends it" is perhaps the most damning thing you can say about a gacha
ZZZ is a turd game all the contented creators were correct to shit on it and drop it, plus u are a pdf if you play it
never cook again
ZZZ is actually great but it is not open world game, which makes it kind of a niche game.
if only it open world + multiplay
This is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard
Don't get me wrong it's great but niche? Bro niche is like fucking rhythm games not games like this
@@topbossgamer15 if we think about it this way, any games are a form of rhythm game. When a attack comes at you and you press block/parry/dodge or when a enemy head comes into your crosshair, it's basically the same as clicking in a rhythm game.
Since when does open world become the main stay? back in the day game use to come in all shape and size and it's all enjoyable
