MUST SEE: UP 1038 Plows Through 7 Feet Of Snow!

No train to see here! Just a moving snow wall. A few days ago, 2/15/21, Union Pacific’s Troy Grove local, UP LPJ05 got stuck in the snow at BX crossing back on Presidents Day on the way to Troy Grove, so the train went back north to the DeKalb wye and tied down at DeKalb. 2 days later, 2/17/21, they tried going all the way to Troy Grove again, and succeeded. Because no trains have gone through this portion of the line for a couple days, overtime, with the large amount of snowfall that fell in that time frame, it made for amazing snow drifts along the Troy Grove Subdivision south of BX crossing.
Just south of BX crossing, there is a decent sized cut in the land where the UP Troy Grove Subdivision goes through. Since the line hasn’t seen trains going through there for a few days, overtime blowing snow from gusty winds would blow into the cut and would cover the tracks in snow. At least 4-7 feet of snow covered the cut.
2 days after, LPJ05 would plow through the cut on its way south with UP GP60 1038 leading solo as seen here. (well, behind the snow!) There would also be some other snow drifts all over the line from blowing snow all the way to Troy Grove, but not as good as Shabbona Grove.
