Honestly, I am sorry to say but I think that we are about 10 years away from actual murderous Chinese Red Guard levels of violence in this country. I just the stuff that my neighbors 9 year olds are learning in school, in 10 years these 9 year olds will be 19 year olds, And this revolutionary ideology will be their entire worldview and the core of their identity. I think we are headed to an American Holodomor.

Jesus… “they know from the moment they can express themselves”. Really?!
I just turned 34, and I’ve been on cross-sex hormones for 18 years. I’ve had a Colovaginoplasty. I’ve been wrong about my “gender” twice! And now de-transition is on the table.
Everything I’ve learned about psychology and how the human mind works directly contradicts this idea that “we just know.”
    We don’t know shit.
I’ve been tired of depression and chronic procrastination, so much so that this month I’ve let go; no more fighting. I dived so deep into my emotional troubles and childhood trauma caused by my dad something finally clicked.
Here is what I found out just today after talking with my mom about my dad.
When I visited him, I could never predict when I would get into trouble, What was ok or not. Because it depended on whether or not they were having meth withdrawals. I would get screamed at. Seeing no apparent pattern, my only option was to retreat inward. When I would shut down and retreat into my imagination, he would shame me and tell me to be a man, over and over. He would then repeatedly poke, push, and provoke. Like I was some dog in a cage… pure survival mode. The more he repeated it, the deeper I would go, “I wish I were a girl”, “if I were a girl, maybe he wouldn’t treat me like this.” The man was sadistic. His girlfriend was precisely the same.
My whole life, when things got bad, I would fall deeper and deeper into gender dysphoria. Ancient legacy survival software installed deep. Because he kept poking and provoking me until I would snap like a dog. I was 7 years old…
I had to comb through the entirety of my "lived experience" just to see this knot of trauma. It’s taken me 25 years to get to this point.
    It’s been a hell of a fucking day…
My Street Epistemology journey begins now. I can’t stand on the sidelines anymore.

I get that too, albeit the opposite way as I'm female. I'm sorry you had to experience that, it really sucks to be pressured into old gender roles that aren't even healthy or even realistic isn't it.
I got betrayed & molested on 4th grade, betrayed & almost groomed in middle school by a private guitar teacher, not to mention being limited in what I'm allowed to do, to have, to say, to wear, to be etc just because I'm a girl, and so at middle school I kept thinking "I wish I was a boy". So I don't have to be molested, underestimated, limited.
Thankfully I got out of that by highschool, where my crush who's a girl told me "but if you were a guy, then we wouldn't have been friends and everything". Slowly realizing that what I don't actually wanna be a guy - what I really wanted was to just not be molested, underestimated and limited. Which I can fight for without changing myself entirely.
Ironically though, from the beginning I already was a tomboy. As I grew away from the thought of being a guy, the people who emphasize gender in everything still baffles me all the same. By society's definition, I'm barely a girl & closer to a guy, without even trying.
In the end, whenever my surrounding people are very gender-minded people who like to box people into 2 distinct gendered traits, I bid good luck to them as I'll not fit in either of them. lol.

So sorry you went through that. Many--maybe even most--kids have gender dysphoria because of some form of trauma. We used to know and accept that. But now, acknowledging that fact and trying to find out what that trauma is/was is called "conversion therapy." It's infuriating, because they aren't getting the help they need. Godspeed on your street epistemology journey, btw.

The idea that we can so easily fix what nature got so obviously "wrong" by using medication and surgeries. Of course humans are medically and psychologically flawed, but before you intervene the burden of proof needs to be met. When it comes to chopping healthy body parts off of children, the bar needs to be incredibly high.

Thankyou so much for the conversation. Im in the UK, i have always been a lefty and a feminist. I dont belive i could ever vote Conservative but im truly ashamed of the current hard left, whom, i had previously always associted myself with. This ideology blows my mind, its abhorrent. I appreciated hearing some of the optimism from some of you, as we have hang on to hope. I do belive it will collapse in on itself eventually. Im crossing my fingers that once the NHS ( Tavistock) is sued it will begin to collapse, because money talks and if we can debunk gender affirming care via the law suits, we open the flood gates for the department of education to be sued too...i think it will take time, but once those floodgates open, institutions will put the breaks on promoting the ideolgy out of fear of being sued, i like to think this will a ripple effect through other countries. That is my hope. I also think that the key to this is the separation of the LGB from TQ etc, this is a huge blind spot of the left - believing that the two are the same and anyone being negative about the ideolgy is the equivalent of the homophobic and therefore fear the prejudice of the past repeating itself. We have to keep trying to uncouple the LGB from this and Educate people that it is completely different and at odds with sexuality. Im currently a silent and frustrated onlooker too scared to publicly speak out because of a particular project i run in partnership with a very captured organisation. But i really do thank all of you who are speaking up. Im rooting for you all.

You don’t want children targeted and harmed, but also say you could never “bring yourself to vote conservative”? The left fully intends to continue trans surgeries for children. The left/right team mentality is how this has flourished 🌊This evil has become rooted in the politics of the left - they’re 💯 captured by gender ideology activists. If you tell your lefty friends you’re against gender ideology they’ll let you know you’re a fascist & need to be re-educated. The butchering of children will continue until we make it stop 🛑

Wow! Great conversation. This is so helpful and meaningful. Taking an issue like this and examining it from the perspectives of those who have literally been in the trenches facing it.
Peter did a fantastic job of facilitating the conversation and guiding it. I tthink it's important we try to look at these issues as honestly as we can. No matter how uncomfortable it gets, no matter if there are aspects we even vehemently disagree with - we have to strip it down and see it for what it is, and try to find genuine paths forward.
This has become such a huge issue in our society, it MUST be discussed.
    Well done, to all involved.

When these people who support transitioning kids say “you are on the wrong side of history “, they are saying you are not part of the in-crowd. They have seen the social trend in favor of “affirmation” and transgender activism and they didn’t want to miss the bandwagon of consensus. It isn’t about learning over time what is right, it is about being part of the in-crowd. They don’t want tides to turn because that would put them back in the wrong camp from a social perspective, not a truth seeking one.

Peter B. made excellent arguments for the panel to answer and this perfectly drew out the illegitimacy and danger of transgenderism with regard to gender affirming care. Peter and the panel did an excellent job of revealing how radical the transgender advocates are and how willing they are to sacrifice children in the name of their 'cause'.
Chris made a powerful point about the fallacy of transgenderism from the perspective of both religion and evolution! His most powerful point was, "The human mind is very weak psychologically. We're easily manipulated. We're easily persuaded. We're prone to cults. We're prone to group think and mass psychoses."

"Zero Genders"...I'm so glad someone is finally taking this approach. The "cisnormative" view is what needs to be attacked as it informs their entire perceived power structure that such identities are based around. That such societal identities are to be personally assigned to a system of perceived "norm/acceptance" ("gender") versus a group categorization of a much more basic, static element for societal understanding (sex). It's a difference in schema formation itself. It should be that abnormal preferences don't dictate one's identity to labels conveying norms.
