In the episode where he breaks the window, he took a photo at 18:42 (I assume he takes photos regularly), I believe the reason for taking that photo was to have timestamp for himself and not Cx (as that’s what we are told that LG left the photo for Cx to enter it). By taking photos regularly LG marks the time for how long he managed to keep Cx alive. So if Cx dies, he doesn't have to start over, he can start from the last timestamp on the photo at which point CX was alive.
Lu guang keps changing the past to save cheng but when he thinks that this time his bestfriend will surely survive. On last episode. He woke up and go on about his day with cheng until cheng drop bomb the date and lu guang just froze to realized that he did not change or no matter what he do, cheng death us unavoidable becaus he is still looping in the same month and day sept 12. When lu guang try to redo the past. Someone out there someone whos very important person to them died because of the butterfly effect that his been looping time and time again to make cheng alive again. It's sad but life is not fair Meaning, you cannot brought the dead back to life. Move on. Sooner or later lu guang will die too and join cheng in near future. So season 3 must be about learning to move on in life. Wheather u got rejected, death, fail in class etc. U can cry about it but learn move on. Easier said than done Season 2 is more of how severe trust issue can destroy a relationship. Very toxic trait on person and domesric violence awareness. Season 3 is about learning to forgive and move on. If the author made Cheng alive then it's fair that all season 1 and 2 character thst dies need to revived. Which i don't mind. I love happy ending. Bcus if author only make cheng alive then it's unfair . Why does cheng get the exception cus his main character? I like cheng and lu guang and wantthem to have happy endings but . Everyon deserve happy endings not just the two of them :) I don't think that guy wearing blck hat is a bad guy more like anti villain. Have to kill one person in order to save many lives.

So it is very possible that atleast the ending would be with just one of these two mcs standing. Lu is a reluctant character who is very strict in his rules and it makes sense, the past cannot be changed. But the fact that he willingly cheated death to save his best friend again and again, contradicting everything he stood for, changing time and space, knowing the consequences he himself has repeated several times...it just blows my mind. As much as I'd love for this season to be about acceptance, forgiveness and moving on I feel like it could also take the route of mental spiral. Having to see your bestfriend die and then revived again and then die again can't be a fun experience and I'd love to see a cool, calm collected character like Lu to crack because of this, struggling to accept that this is just too out of his grasp. Like sand through fingers. And THEN finally accepting that he can't save him.
This is why I love Link Click so much. The world is so interesting and the deep dives and theories are really fun and has viewers really trying to pay attention to every detail. The writers did an amazing job thinking 10 steps ahead on where the story is going and keeping us all in suspense. I cannot wait to see what twists and turns season 3 will hold ❤
When li tianchen said he could never fool her I never really thought of "her" being li tianxi, I always thought it was landlady who he was talking about, like a "you guys know eachother so much and for so long that you can just figure out when you're lying to eachother"
honestly your questions about tianchen's behavior between s1 and s2 make a lot of sense, his actions and motivations seemed to have switched, unless it really wasnt tianchen possessing everyone, and we're given a red herring that its tianchen ( + tianxi ), when it's actually liu xiao. especially the repeated use of "friend" that red eyes liked to use in s1, and liu xiao using in s2.
About the tianchen theory, i think we are missing smh. In season two, when tianchen was controlling xiaoshi he found the gps device. And when he took it and said “how will we cooperate like this?” Xiaoshi, who was still under tianchens control, apologized for it and said “it wont happen again”. Again, when he was controlling chen bin, when his control weakened, chen bin started to apologise to his unborn child. His eyes were still red, he was still under control, but his personality came out. After xixi broke tianchens control over chen bin, chen bin backed a bit with a confused and seemingly newly awoken face, just like what happens when tianchen stops the controlling thingy. He indeed didnt remember a thing and was confused, but he was crying and apologizing when he was under control. Its like when ppl are control, tianchen can actually take over the whole body or just simply make them obey while the victims keep their own personalities/conciousnesses. And one more case like this is liu mins case. When they were in the dark room, after liu min got on top of xiaoshi we hear him say “i didnt kill them” but then he leans down and says “i killed them”. I think before saying “i killed them” liu mins conciousness was awake, and tianchen was controlling him so that he could actually walk. Bc before that, when liu min was drunk he wanted tianchens help to kill shanshan, liu min knew what tianchen could do and was using it. When he got caught and said “my friend did it” its bc when tianchen controls them, even i ftheir conciousness is awake they dont remember a thing after the control breaks. Liu min killed ppl bc they were attention seekers to him, and he wasnt killing “innocent ppl” in his perspective. After liu min was under full control and tianchen started talking saying “i killed them” xiaoshi asked why and he said “hatred? jealousy? etc. i wouldnt care, its not my ideal”. It was liu mins ideal to kill those “attention seekers” and the first victim of liu mins enemies was the guy that tianchen hated, so he agreed to that “hunting game”. Liu min wanted to kill his enemies, and tianchen obeyed, but when he realized that xiaoshi had powers, it piqued his interest and i think the little game was about “dropping each others’ mask”. My point is, the twist was there sure, but wasnt that big. The one who said “i wouldnt do smh so pointless like killing innocent ppl” was liu min, and in the tunnel qian jin said i “i raised you and your mute sister like my own children”. Tianchen killed them but throughout the episodes he slowly showed that he was just forcing it, and in the tunnel he actually said “what about your own child” to qian jin. Plus, if he were to success and actually save his mother, that would result in that murder case to nonexist, or simply ending with only his fathers death. Which would prevent tianchen from snapping at that night, and qian jin wouldnt be able to discover his psycho side. That way he wouldnt be able to adopt them or use them, resulting in liu min getting caught early or just those homicides never happening. That could be the reason too for his uncaring murderings against the innocents. Plus his mentality is obviosly twisting, we saw him cry two times and he smiles while crying both times. When his mother was dying and when xixi started to talk again. When he opened lu guangs scar, he was already out of his mind, saying kill me and stuff. His personality was already twisting after the hammer hit him. After his parents’ death he laughed and said “ i killed them” like that night he completely lost it. so even his mentality alone could explain his twisting personality and his actions being contradictory. Specially when xixi started talking, he reached that breaking point again and started crying while laughing again. Even before that night he was always protecting xixi, and had to be the one bearing his mothers cries and his fathers screams. At least, thats how i explained those holes and stuff to myself. But ofc probably my speculations have holes or mistakes too and this is just what i think of the events, just another theory
As a trainee Forensic psychologist, I find your theory fascinating. The show hooked me with the ending of episode one, when it's revealed that Emma had died, and I noticed Lu Guang almost not reacting to it. I took it at face value but if I look back now, it's almost as if he knew it'd happen. Anywho, back to the theory, yes, you're correct, a lot might have happened because of the trauma from his mother's death and the concussion caused by the hammer, but it still has some questions unanswered, like- why did red eyes while possessing Qiao Ling not know about how his powers work, etc. (basically everything mentioned in the video). I could make a theory that he might have developed some sort of dissociative identity disorder and have another personality or person inside his head, and that might be why, and yet he should still be able to use Xixi's powers. Idk, it bothers me, I still think Red eyes is a different time traveler. Veeery interesting series, looking forward to season 3 (It's confirmed to come sometime in late 2025, hopefully it comes in fall 2025 and not winter 2026...jeez, we have some waiting to do, bois)
This is my big theory. I believe that Liu Xiao is basically someone who lives at all points in time. I don't know what his actual power is, but it seems that Liu Xiao, is the only person (for now) that understands what the "true" timeline is. He is someone who knows how to actively change his fate by making sure certain events happen, which is why he subtly manipulates things in his favor. While I can't predict how the story of season 3 will play out, based on what we know so far, I think CXS's goal will be to break free of the manipulation of Lu Guang and Liu Xiao, so he can change his own (and others?) fate how he wants. I feel like only due to the amazing writing of Link Click, I can make predictions like this. I like your theory about Red Eyes' iffy identity, and I mostly agree with it, because I doubt the writers would leave strange inconsistencies like this, considering how careful they are with handling other plot points.

19:00 It's not surprising to me. Li Tianchen has been mentally unstable since their mother died and he began killing people. However, his sister has always been his top priority and what keeps him somewhat sane. When she dropped the photo and he read that she misses his old self-when he was a gentle, caring brother-he snapped back. At this moment, he gave Lu Guang the photo, hoping they would change the past, save their mother, and allow him to remain the gentle brother his sister misses. He did this mostly for her, so he wouldn't turn out the way he did. However, he was disappointed because Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang didn't change the past, and his present remained the same. As he said, his future was lost that day, and the only way forward was to go back and change everything. 21:20 It's mentioned several times that his own family wants him dead, so it's not surprising they took the risk to use his body. Cheng Xiaoshi also made a promise to Li Tianchen that the police wouldn't be called, which is why he calls him out for cheating and punishes him by stabbing Lu Guang. At that moment, he was confident, plus he was thrilled to meet someone with similar powers as him and his sister. Lastly, I believe Liu Xiao has been monitoring Li Tianchen all this time to ensure the timeline flows as it should, as he seems to know the future. This explains his possession of Emma at the right moment. Additionally, Li Tianchen doesn't seem to be influenced by the feelings of the people he possesses from a distance, unlike his sister. This suggests that while his sister allows him to control people remotely, accessing their memories and feelings is exclusive to her. Li Tianxi might signal her brother that someone is lying with a hand wave, but due to her inability to speak and reluctance to get too involved, she couldn't explain Cheng Xiaoshi's powers in detail, even if she knew. A little more on the Li Tianchen is not Red Eye thing : I'm sorry, but he definitely is. As I've mentioned, he is very mentally unstable, and his temper can change rapidly. He is heavily influenced by Liu Xiao, who has shaped his worldview since childhood with the hunter/prey ideology. Unlike what you said we've seen Li Tianchen exhibit psychopathic behavior multiple times, both in person and while possessing others. For instance, when he was talking to Lu Guang and mentioned he shouldn't have gone easy on him and should have killed him, he had a crazed smile on his face, similar to the expressions he had while possessing Emma or Liu Min.
I feel like Lu Guang's attempt to save Cx will be something like Homura Akemi's attempt to save Madoka during their anime. It's impossible to prevent their fate, and might just end in something worse.
I want to believe red eyes is not Tianchen but one thing that is impossible to ignore is the upside down kick possessed Xiao Ling did during the fight which was ALSO a move that Tianchen did in his final fight at the end. I think it might be him but Tianchen in the future. I do agree it seems strange and like you I believe there is more here than meets the eye. my thoughts for the questions asked at the end * why the murders started sticking out : emma was the first victim that stood out and that happened within the past year, when we see li tianchen and Qian Jin meet Liu Min for their first target, lian tianchen and Qian Jin look the same age as they do in season 2. so, they probably started working together recently within the past year and thats when things got sloppy. liu min was already going to murder emma, as himself, and freely giving away his identity when mentioning the company's and his money. after he became paralyzed that gave him a perfect alibi for committing crimes as himself. a reason why they would use liu min and not some random persons photo is bc they dont know where/what that person is doing. they can use a photo taken at any time but it doesn't show what situation or location they'll be placed in. by using liu min that can accurately prepare (especially for showing up at their time studio bc cheng xiaoshi told him to meet exactly at 10pm, so they needed to predict how long it will take them to get to studio from where the person in the photo is. and they can only do that by havjng that person in front of them) *why it got more sloppy i think is bc li tianchen and liu min were working without Qian Jin. Qian Jin works for liu's father and liu's father had no idea what was going on it seemed. like when liu got arrested and then died, his father had no idea why. Qian Jin would also know the situation and be reporting it to his father if they were working as a trio. also it seems like liu min only calls for li tianchen (the times hes shown shouting "come my friend" / "help me kill them my friend"). so Liu Min just naturally being unhinged and chaotic could make the murders stick out more. theory: Liu Min might have powers as well. he's mentioned also going on an overseas trip in the past and it seems like he can just call out for li tianchen and become possessed, giving him the ability to walk again and an abili for committing murders not sure how that would work though

As far as the many Lius in the show. Liu Xiao is the little brother of Liu Min (blond wheelchair guy), and they are both sons of Liu Jing. Liu Lan and Liu Siwen aren't related to the brothers or their father. Even though Liu is transliterated the same, the Liu of the two brothers and father are actually written in a different way than the Liu in either Liu Siwen or Liu Lan's names. The surnames are pronounced very similar but they could also be written as Liu, Leu, Lew Liu Lan didn't take her husband's surname when she married, but her children Tianxi and Tianchen have her husband's surname, Li (as is traditional in China and other Asian countries). Tianchen and Xiao are childhood friends, but aren't blood related. (Xiao's dad and Tianchen's mom have pronounced-the-same-but-spelled-different last names)
in the 'dive back in time' intro, Lu guang is seen holding shredded parts of a photo and cxs is then shown lying on photos... Lu Guang told cxs to hold on to the photo of ltx and her mum so it is not lost and their current future is not disturbed.. almost as if he has destroyed photos himself to destroy a future he left. after all, when cxs goes back he comes back by clapping his hands, and there's no way lu Guang can go on without mistakenly clapping his hands and going to the future, so he destroys the photo he used to dive back, so he doesn't end up back in the timeline he left. this is further fueled by the fact that when cxs controlling lg was touched by ltc, only cxs gets thrown out but future lg doesn't go back. after all Ltc's powers seem to overwhelm dive also, in the ss1 basketball scene and that part where lg"s face blurs out, it could actually be the time lg went back to, going along well with the "go back to the beginning" thing lg said in ep 12 ss2, as that was literally the first time cxs and lg met each other
also in the 'retroverthink' song, there's a scene in the beginning where cxs walks towards 3 other cxs's and then there's a very very brief glimpse of many cxs's, a few lying on the ground, dressed in cxs's ss1 attire (his death that lg witnessed?) and a cxs in crutches, and some cxs's standing at the back alone and one cxs in the right back that is standing in a very... wierd manner (trigger warning)
If Lu Guang was actually a time traveler, what if he mets Cheng Xiaoshi later in the timeline? If they didn't meet earlier I would assume that Cheng Xiaoshi would have no knowledge of his powers so what if he only finds out about them at the last minute? Say, he gets caught up in whatever conflict Lu Guang would have caused by breaking the "don't change the past" rule (assuming that it isn't him saving Cheng Xiaoshi that causes the conflict in the first place.) What if he died in this conflict and Lu Guang went back in time to meet him earlier and sort of teach him about his powers? (Could it be that him knowing about his powers is somehow linked to his survival?) It's been a while since I rewatched season 1 but what if the reason Cheng Xiaoshi seemed so hesitant (if I remember correctly) to stay in the past after 12 hours wasn't because Lu Guang can only see that far, but because he didn't know he could stay that long? If Lu Guang wanted to keep an eye on him, knowing how brash Cheng Xiaoshi can be, it would be better to intentionally let him believe that he could only stay in the past as far back as Lu Guang could see... idk that's just an idea
About the "lu guang's hair is white because of travelling back in time" theory So i just went and rewatched the scene where they supposedly show "qiao ling"'s hair as white, but what i noticed was something we call a "rim light". Rim light basically tries to differentiate the image from the background. And which closer inspection, the color was more yellowish-brownish. this may be due to the colouring, and putting white would be make it stand out a lot, but i think that was just use of rim lighting. (yes i dont want to get depressed after knowing how many times my baby lu guang had to dive 😭)

Vein is a friend of Liu Xiao aka Xavier and his eyes are red. He could have been the first red eye because he kept going on about some game and punishment in S1 when he stabbed Lu Guang and he repeated the same line in the trailer. It must be why he chose to stab Lu Guang, because of his frustration that he keeps changing the timeline. Perhaps he is the time keeper of the game (the time lines must all just be a game to him). Or it could also have just been Liu Min himself. Liu Min wanted to kill and humiliate the victims unlike Qian Jin who wanted to make their death seem like a suicide because he’s a law enforcement officer and lawyer and hence doesn’t want to be found out. I think TianChen’s killing style has more to do with the personality of who is hiring him. Killing them brutally is in correspondence with Lui Min’s personality while Qian Jin would have been a more covert killer so making it look like a suicide suits him well. These are just my theories though.
s2 ending was like a hint. I thought she would get lu guangs powers but once i watched the last ep it, what if he can still dive? cuz the other guys were trying to get cheng xioashi's powers

My theory is once’s Lu Guang changed the past, his future from where he come stopped existing OR he stopped being of that future timeline that makes possible for him to possess his memories from future while being in his body from past without being knocked out to future while being possessed by someone else. Why am I saying this is that when Chen was in body of Li Tianxi and Li Tianchen’s mother he was kicked out by combined power of twins. This wasn’t the case for Lu Guang after being possessed by Chen Xiaoshi. This proves my theory UNLESS he really jumps back in time back and forth reviving the same day of Chen’s death.

My working theory is that CXS getting involved in Emma’s case is what leads to his death. Lu Guang working so hard to hide the fact that Emma died from CXS delayed the inevitable for a few months until CXS eventually found out and got involved. Hence why the dates where Lu guang travels from in the future and when lu Guang gets stabbed being a few months apart.
1:17 I like to think Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi were being chased in the forest and Cheng Xiaoshi got shot from someone else, 9:12 In S1 Ep 1 Lu is the youngest of them all and Cheng and Qiao are in their early 20s

I think that Tianchen is a sincere boy who wants to protect his sister and was used by this sinister ex cop guy. And 'red eyes' is what posseses people and activates their worst side. So when it possesses Tianxi it can't do much harm, because she is too innocent. When it possesses Tianchen it latches to his trauma and teenage boy rage and disappointment in adults and it turns him into a feral killer. As a 'power' wielded by Tianchen it can turn the possessed victims into killers as well (secondhand possession).
I had so much fun watching these video💜 Thank you so much, you did amazing putting all these theories together. There are many that I had already thought about and many others that you just made me discover and left me with a lot to think about. the last theory about Li Tianchen not being "red eyes" didn't convince me enough at first since I simply associated all those inconsistencies with the fact that Li Tianchen due to trauma and hatred seems to have developed two different personalities and only sometimes he had episodes of sanity thanks to his sister. But then you mentioned red eyes' overuse of the word "friend" and how it resembles Liu Xiao's way of speaking... and omg ngl, that would actually make a lot of sense! Anyway, what a great show to comment on and let our imagination flow thinking about all the possibilities. For now we can only hope that the movie comes out asap since we don't have any manghua to answer all our questions while we wait for the 3rd season🥲😭

maybe the 12 hour rule didn't apply to lu guang since when he went back he changed it so Cheng Xiaoshi doesn't die meening lu guang never got the power therefore lu guang technically never travelled back in time since he didn't have the power.

Li tiachen doesnt know abt cxs ' powers because li tianxi literally doesnt tell him, and also, for him killing was like a coping mechanism, the hell he was describing is his present with his sad sister and his past, which is why he likes murdering but doesnt like seeing li tianxi sad, so he kinda stops killing ig??? And also, his first murder, was meant to be covered up, making it look like a suicide, he was making is so that the death of the cheater and qiao's wife had no connection to them, plus, he was saying that the people he killed weren't innocent to please qiao, since he had him by his side, but when qiao pointed the gun, tiachen revealed he never was never actually sided with him and told him the truth, the truth he couldnt accept, that his wife was innocent. Also, the man who leads li tiachen and li tianxi in wolf mode, is most likely qiao, bcz of their interactions after the police came to tiachen's house after the murder.

So cheng xiaoshi's death happend either during the end or shortly after the end of their overseas trip, OR before season 1. its gotta be one of these two, but there's anothet thing i dont really get, if in the scene of cxs' death, we see a forest behind lu guang, then why is lu guang in their room when diving into the past?? About red eyes: I recently rewatched s1 of link click, and there is DEFINITELY more than 1 red eyes. This is because, Qiao Ling stabbing Lu Guang (while being posessed) and Liu Min chocking himself to death (while being posessed) happened at the EXACT same time. This would also explain the discrepancy between the behaviours of the crazy red eyes we see and how Li Tianchen acts. Maybe the reason why there are 2 red eyes is because there is someone whose power is to copy the powers of others?? Who knows Also, I think red eyes purposefully stabbed Lu Guang in a way that he would survive, since he did it just to punish Cheng Xiaoshi for cheating in the 'game'.
And with “taking” CXS’ powers it’s made for us to assume that it’s tianchen possessing qiao ling at that point. But while they’re fighting whoever is in qiao lings body seems to be genuinely trying to hurt/kill CXS. So maybe they were planning on killing CXS and having the powers transferred to them that way? Idk
@@sonja84755 I’ve been rewatching it lately and it also seems that when li tianchen possesses Chen bin it doesn’t appear to at all be similar to how emma or qiao ling acted. Chen bin acts like he’s in a trance and doesn’t talk at all. Almost like li tianchen is just influencing his actions instead of directly possessing him. Like when he is in physical contact with CXS at the police station.
@@alpacalips4887 ohh interesting! although, when li tianchen posessed both CXS and wang juan, he did make them talk to some police officers when they were sneaking out (like the guy right outside the interrogation room and the other one outside) but it's true that they were talking in a way less unhinged way than when emma got posessed for example.... so far i think emma, qiao ling and liu min (when he went into the dark room) were probably not posessed by li tianchen 🤔

I thought it was already confirmed that dives could last longer than twelve hours. In the Earthquake episode, Cheng Xiaoshi starts off at a basketball game in the evening, with the sun up, and plays the whole game. The whole game would probably be 1.5-2 hours, then he went home, then, we see he's still in control for part of the time as he'd being rescued in broad daylight the next morning. The Earthquake was in May, meaning the days were longer, but even so, that would be cutting it close, what with the night time taking up a whole ten hours.
Just me trying to cover plot holes but you mention Red Eyes should be knowing how everything works because of their memory thing. But if you think about it Cheng Xiaoshi also has that power! It is clearly mentioned he inherits the memories and feelings of the people he inhabits, but why doesn't he know certain details? I'd like to think it's because only key or very important memories are shown. Like Xiaoshi's death to Lu Guang, I'd like to say that's pretty key memory for him. Emma spending time with her parents, etc. So perhaps the exact way Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi's power wasn't really an important memory for Qiao Ling. Uhhh but this also kind of leads to another plot whole, if Cheng Xiaoshi inherits people's memories why the heck didn't he inherit Lu Guang's memories when he possessed him? Since I'm desperate to prove this show has no plot holes I have more lol For Cheng Xiaoshi, the way memories are presented to him is when he's in desperation or not really focused on something. Desperation could be like when he was fighting on top of the mountain and not being focused on something could be when he was falling asleep as Emma. You get what I'm going for here? I'd say Xiaoshi was pretty occupied when he took over Lu Guang's body so perhaps it didn't come to mind. For Xixi I'd say she isn't as occupied when she uses her power. Her power is to see what a person is doing in the present time as well as see their memories, right? Perhaps because she herself isn't possessing someone she isn't as occupied to not see their memories. While this is probably just me being desperate for reasons how XIAOSHI DOESN'T KNOW HE'S DIED and how Red Eyes doesn't have memory loop holes it is something. Also if you combine the twins powers it is literally Cheng Xiaoshi's power but in the present. I wonder if the hat guy, Xiao, I believe? Has some power related to the future, perhaps it is like Cheng Xiaoshi's power except he can jump to the future. But how would that work considering you can't get photos of the future? Would it be like a certain time limit he can jump? Just thoughts... Anyway, now that I've put my thoughts into words the fact Cheng Xiaoshi didn't inherit Lu Guang's memories is bothering me.
Man.. I will get a lot of hate for this but god. This series is awful. The pacing is weird. The character keep making weird decision. Police super useless. And just the time travel, I swear it feel like it keep breaking its own rule. And before anyone, hate me for this. Atleast you gotto admit that the pacing for season 2 is really really bad. @@taawesome2949 I do think the pacing for season 2 is worse than season 1. It surprised me because season 1, especially episode 1, felt very fast-paced and set very clear rules. The fight scenes of season 2 and some of the flashbacks/conversations felt very slow to me in comparison. I think they messed up the pacing because they wanted to write a "complicated" plot but just added unnecessary scenes As for writing about time travel being hard... they seemed to do a great job of it in season 1. And there was actually so little time travel in season 2. CXS and LG did their first dive like 3 eps into the season. CXS only used surveillance cams once, and it turns out the pink-hair twins can't time travel at all! However, I do think the writers did genuinely plan some things in advance. There are certain things they haven't told us, like how CXS and LG met and how they got their powers. It feels like they were foreshadowing things since season 1 (CXS asking if he and LG will ever stop getting along, LG's face "glitching" in a flashback in ep 4, etc.). So I'm hopeful that they at least have some answers written in advance

Oooh and there's a theory that is quite popular Pin the Chinese link click community, "Lu Guang don't actually have natural white hair" Some people pointed out that Qiao Ling in the last episode had a strand of hair that is white in colour.( during the scene when she wondered why she saw Cheng Xiao Shi dying in Lu Guang's memory) They say the strand of white hair exists because Qiao Ling uses other people's (Tian Xi's) powers. They think that maybe every time someone possesses others power, they will get a strand of white hair. The theory suggests Lu Guang has been reusing Cheng Xiao Shi powers over and over again just to save Cheng Xiao Shi, till the point his hair is completely white. If this is real, I would honestly feel so sad for Lu Guang.

I think Lu Guang has always had Cheng Xiaoshi’s powers. What I mean is that we’ve never seen Lu Guang before he obtained Cheng’s power. Think about it. Why would Cheng Xiaoshi’s power trigger when he high fives Lu Guang? It’s because it’s the same power in both of them. Otherwise why is Lu Guang specifically the only person who activates Cheng’s power when they high-five?
I think cxs can activate his power with anyone he wants. It’s just that if the other person has no power that can collaborate with his, then it’s no use 🤔 Or maybe he will maintain the ability to telepath with the other person, but only the author knows wether the other person will be able to telepath with cxs too (normal person with no ability)

I wouldn’t say its hinting anything about the english pronunciation but I like your notice of how the words sound. I think its more towards the chinese definition, for example, Cheng Xiaoshi in chinese is “程小时”. Cheng程 meaning journey, Xiao小 meaning small, and shi时 meaning time, which I think connects from whats happening.

I'm a bit late, but everything about this series reminds me of Omniscient reader's viewpoint. It's a (finished) korean novel, it also has a manhwa (ongoing) and is supposed to be adapted into a live series and an anime. It has a very different plot, but the caracter dinamic and their thinking is very similar+ the ones in orv also have associate black/white. Without spoiling, I'm just gonna say that there's a caracter that lives many MANY lifetimes just to save another caracter. I wholeheartedly recommend omniscient reader, it's so so good and fandom is so very talented.
About that plot, I think we might do have some by now, Even homura in magica madoka did that, and that became the reason why the ending of 1st season possible 🤔 it’s a 2011 anime.
Yeah the whole time travel confusion and not being able to tell what exactly is the actual starting point really reminds me of ORV. ORV left me confused in the exact same way lol. I just hope Cheng Xiaoshi doesn't have this dying kink like Kim Dokja lol.
After watching this I came up with a theory and it's related to episode 5.5, the episode where they help the old martial artist couple. Here's my theory: I think it's kinda weird how the episode number is 5.5 to begin with, I don't know if there's a non canon motive to that or if is a common thing to do but I believe it's on purpose and I theorize that they didn't took that case on the "original timeline", because they made a bet with QL to only help her with the case if they beat her on the fighting game, wich I believe LG did won originally so they ended up skipping it. So in this "original timeline" CX died somehow (Probably killed by Red Eyes IDRK) because he didn't learn martial arts with the old man to defend himself properly. I can't think exactly how and where CX died and why LG survived to hold CX in his arms but later LG travels back in time to try to save CX. I don't know if LG tried multiple times to save CX on this theory but at one point he figures that if they learn martial arts to defend themselves CX probably would survive. So on the day of episode 5.5 on this new timeline, when LG grabs CX phone to go against QL LG face turns dark and purple shadows appear around him and an eerie sound starts to play. I believe that's him remembering CX dying so he takes that chance to change the "original timeline" outcome, he losts the game on purpose so they would take the case. (Don't know if he knew that they would eventually get martial arts training that way or if it was just one more blind try out of multiples, I would say it's the latter.) And now going back to the episode number, I believe the episode is numbered as 5.5 because It didn't happen originally, they didn't take that case and didn't learn to fight. LG inserted it between 5 and 6 and made it happen and it worked in the end, but with that he changed an unchangeable point that is death and made the parallel lines of fate uncertain. Wich on S3 Liu Xiao with Li Tianchen's help will seek to bring the lines together and make the uncertain certain, as he say he will on the end of season 2. (Probably to prevent events of the butterfly effect on the future) That's my theory, there's some holes about exact time points and how exactly the events went down like CX death and I don't know how this holds itself on the grand scheme of things but It made a lot of sense to me after rewatching the scene that I mentioned on the 3rd paragraph. It would portray time travel butterfly effect perfectly like, losing on a silly game is what saves CX and maybe brings disaster in the future and maybe even the trolley problem if it comes to choosing saving CX and let other people die in return or not. Now with that said I wish the boys end up alive and happy together, like for real, NO MATTER THE COST THEY ARE SOULMATES I DON'T CARE IF IT WOULD BE PREDICTABLE OR CLICHE PLEASE LET THEM BE BOTH ALIVE TOGETHER OR ELSE

I think when they get back from the hospital is when he actually dives back in that why he says something about his last chance so probably in-between the time they get back and in the next few days is where he dies because if he could time leap before he would have gone with him every time they clapped so that means that the reason for his death is because he time leaped backwards to the past with a different plan.
I think the phone that pink haired boy hands over (sorry I’m not good with names) has to do with photos needing to be kept vs the whole family’s financial corruption thing…also I think that same guy being the “hunter” is an obvious assumption cuz of the way he looks and what he says which means he’s been the one ordering deaths
the reason that ltc knew about cxs's powers being to dive back in time is probably because of that altercation they have when cxs is in xu shan shan's body and says that ltc will get a hint about their location the next day
I don’t really think so. For all he knew CXS possessed xu shan Shan’s body one day when they had their altercation and then waited til the next day to send the message at 10 am. He didn’t have to know time travel was involved.

I have a theory! Notice that we see very few instances of Lu guang getting panicked. When the Nodes change, the future changes. That explains why Lu guang was shocked about the powers, he changed a node. Maybe, in another timeline, at a certain point, they never told Qiao Ling about their abilities and because of that they never find out about the other abilities, or something like that. I think one of the only other instances of Lu guang being panicked was when Cheng Xiaoshi got shot, because he was scared of having to restart but that’s besides the point. Those are Pretty much the only times (if I remember correctly) Lu guang was ever that shocked in the series (excluding small shocks, I mean shocks that cause like big reactions) He knows a lot of this, knows whats happening, knows exactly how to orchestrate everything. I also think it’s important to consider that his flashback was only one instance of Cheng Xiaoshi’s death, he could have died at many different times in many different ways. In the scene of Lu guang diving, he has blood on his clothes but not on his hands while in the memory his hands are so coated that you can barely see skin. It’s highly likely that, similarly to Madoka from Madoka magica, Cheng xiaoshi has died many different deaths in many different circumstances, and, like homura, lu guang has seen all of them. This also explains the season 1 clothes in the flashback TLDR; Lu guang’s extreme shocked reactions may come from different nodes being changed, and Cheng Xiaoshi’s death happened in many different circumstances and poor Lu guang has seen all of them
Fun fact: Chinese title is Shiguang Dailiren (Time Agent) and MCs names are Cheng Xiao Shi and Lu Guang. Their first names set together create Shiguang (Time). Cheng Xiao Shi means: Journey Little Time. He has little time left in his live journey. I have no revelations for 'Lu', it can mean land or shore though and is just a popular Chinese surname.
To me the personality change of the serial killer of season 1 and season 2 seems like they had a different plan for who was Red Eyes. Like im 100% sure Red Eyes is the pink hair guy from season 2 but they simply didnt have it all planned from the begginign or whatever they had wasnt that interesting so they changed it. Maybe in season 3 its actually revealed that someone else if Red Eyes and then its like BOOOM mind blown but who knows.

In the episode where he breaks the window, he took a photo at 18:42 (I assume he takes photos regularly), I believe the reason for taking that photo was to have timestamp for himself and not Cx (as that’s what we are told that LG left the photo for Cx to enter it). By taking photos regularly LG marks the time for how long he managed to keep Cx alive. So if Cx dies, he doesn't have to start over, he can start from the last timestamp on the photo at which point CX was alive.

When lu guang try to redo the past. Someone out there someone whos very important person to them died because of the butterfly effect that his been looping time and time again to make cheng alive again. It's sad but life is not fair

Lu is a reluctant character who is very strict in his rules and it makes sense, the past cannot be changed. But the fact that he willingly cheated death to save his best friend again and again, contradicting everything he stood for, changing time and space, knowing the consequences he himself has repeated several times...it just blows my mind. As much as I'd love for this season to be about acceptance, forgiveness and moving on I feel like it could also take the route of mental spiral. Having to see your bestfriend die and then revived again and then die again can't be a fun experience and I'd love to see a cool, calm collected character like Lu to crack because of this, struggling to accept that this is just too out of his grasp. Like sand through fingers. And THEN finally accepting that he can't save him.

honestly your questions about tianchen's behavior between s1 and s2 make a lot of sense, his actions and motivations seemed to have switched, unless it really wasnt tianchen possessing everyone, and we're given a red herring that its tianchen ( + tianxi ), when it's actually liu xiao. especially the repeated use of "friend" that red eyes liked to use in s1, and liu xiao using in s2.
About the tianchen theory, i think we are missing smh. In season two, when tianchen was controlling xiaoshi he found the gps device. And when he took it and said “how will we cooperate like this?” Xiaoshi, who was still under tianchens control, apologized for it and said “it wont happen again”. Again, when he was controlling chen bin, when his control weakened, chen bin started to apologise to his unborn child. His eyes were still red, he was still under control, but his personality came out. After xixi broke tianchens control over chen bin, chen bin backed a bit with a confused and seemingly newly awoken face, just like what happens when tianchen stops the controlling thingy. He indeed didnt remember a thing and was confused, but he was crying and apologizing when he was under control. Its like when ppl are control, tianchen can actually take over the whole body or just simply make them obey while the victims keep their own personalities/conciousnesses. And one more case like this is liu mins case. When they were in the dark room, after liu min got on top of xiaoshi we hear him say “i didnt kill them” but then he leans down and says “i killed them”. I think before saying “i killed them” liu mins conciousness was awake, and tianchen was controlling him so that he could actually walk. Bc before that, when liu min was drunk he wanted tianchens help to kill shanshan, liu min knew what tianchen could do and was using it. When he got caught and said “my friend did it” its bc when tianchen controls them, even i ftheir conciousness is awake they dont remember a thing after the control breaks.
Liu min killed ppl bc they were attention seekers to him, and he wasnt killing “innocent ppl” in his perspective. After liu min was under full control and tianchen started talking saying “i killed them” xiaoshi asked why and he said “hatred? jealousy? etc. i wouldnt care, its not my ideal”. It was liu mins ideal to kill those “attention seekers” and the first victim of liu mins enemies was the guy that tianchen hated, so he agreed to that “hunting game”. Liu min wanted to kill his enemies, and tianchen obeyed, but when he realized that xiaoshi had powers, it piqued his interest and i think the little game was about “dropping each others’ mask”. My point is, the twist was there sure, but wasnt that big. The one who said “i wouldnt do smh so pointless like killing innocent ppl” was liu min, and in the tunnel qian jin said i “i raised you and your mute sister like my own children”. Tianchen killed them but throughout the episodes he slowly showed that he was just forcing it, and in the tunnel he actually said “what about your own child” to qian jin. Plus, if he were to success and actually save his mother, that would result in that murder case to nonexist, or simply ending with only his fathers death. Which would prevent tianchen from snapping at that night, and qian jin wouldnt be able to discover his psycho side. That way he wouldnt be able to adopt them or use them, resulting in liu min getting caught early or just those homicides never happening. That could be the reason too for his uncaring murderings against the innocents. Plus his mentality is obviosly twisting, we saw him cry two times and he smiles while crying both times. When his mother was dying and when xixi started to talk again. When he opened lu guangs scar, he was already out of his mind, saying kill me and stuff. His personality was already twisting after the hammer hit him. After his parents’ death he laughed and said “ i killed them” like that night he completely lost it. so even his mentality alone could explain his twisting personality and his actions being contradictory. Specially when xixi started talking, he reached that breaking point again and started crying while laughing again. Even before that night he was always protecting xixi, and had to be the one bearing his mothers cries and his fathers screams. At least, thats how i explained those holes and stuff to myself. But ofc probably my speculations have holes or mistakes too and this is just what i think of the events, just another theory

As a trainee Forensic psychologist, I find your theory fascinating. The show hooked me with the ending of episode one, when it's revealed that Emma had died, and I noticed Lu Guang almost not reacting to it. I took it at face value but if I look back now, it's almost as if he knew it'd happen. Anywho, back to the theory, yes, you're correct, a lot might have happened because of the trauma from his mother's death and the concussion caused by the hammer, but it still has some questions unanswered, like- why did red eyes while possessing Qiao Ling not know about how his powers work, etc. (basically everything mentioned in the video). I could make a theory that he might have developed some sort of dissociative identity disorder and have another personality or person inside his head, and that might be why, and yet he should still be able to use Xixi's powers. Idk, it bothers me, I still think Red eyes is a different time traveler. Veeery interesting series, looking forward to season 3 (It's confirmed to come sometime in late 2025, hopefully it comes in fall 2025 and not winter 2026...jeez, we have some waiting to do, bois)
This is my big theory. I believe that Liu Xiao is basically someone who lives at all points in time. I don't know what his actual power is, but it seems that Liu Xiao, is the only person (for now) that understands what the "true" timeline is. He is someone who knows how to actively change his fate by making sure certain events happen, which is why he subtly manipulates things in his favor.
While I can't predict how the story of season 3 will play out, based on what we know so far, I think CXS's goal will be to break free of the manipulation of Lu Guang and Liu Xiao, so he can change his own (and others?) fate how he wants.

However, his sister has always been his top priority and what keeps him somewhat sane. When she dropped the photo and he read that she misses his old self-when he was a gentle, caring brother-he snapped back. At this moment, he gave Lu Guang the photo, hoping they would change the past, save their mother, and allow him to remain the gentle brother his sister misses. He did this mostly for her, so he wouldn't turn out the way he did. However, he was disappointed because Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang didn't change the past, and his present remained the same. As he said, his future was lost that day, and the only way forward was to go back and change everything.
21:20 It's mentioned several times that his own family wants him dead, so it's not surprising they took the risk to use his body. Cheng Xiaoshi also made a promise to Li Tianchen that the police wouldn't be called, which is why he calls him out for cheating and punishes him by stabbing Lu Guang. At that moment, he was confident, plus he was thrilled to meet someone with similar powers as him and his sister.
Lastly, I believe Liu Xiao has been monitoring Li Tianchen all this time to ensure the timeline flows as it should, as he seems to know the future. This explains his possession of Emma at the right moment. Additionally, Li Tianchen doesn't seem to be influenced by the feelings of the people he possesses from a distance, unlike his sister. A little more on the Li Tianchen is not Red Eye thing : I'm sorry, but he definitely is. As I've mentioned, he is very mentally unstable, and his temper can change rapidly. He is heavily influenced by Liu Xiao, who has shaped his worldview since childhood with the hunter/prey ideology. Unlike what you said we've seen Li Tianchen exhibit psychopathic behavior multiple times, both in person and while possessing others. For instance, when he was talking to Lu Guang and mentioned he shouldn't have gone easy on him and should have killed him, he had a crazed smile on his face, similar to the expressions he had while possessing Emma or Liu Min.
I feel like Lu Guang's attempt to save Cx will be something like Homura Akemi's attempt to save Madoka during their anime. It's impossible to prevent their fate, and might just end in something worse.

I want to believe red eyes is not Tianchen but one thing that is impossible to ignore is the upside down kick possessed Xiao Ling did during the fight which was ALSO a move that Tianchen did in his final fight at the end.

my thoughts for the questions asked at the end
* why the murders started sticking out : emma was the first victim that stood out and that happened within the past year, when we see li tianchen and Qian Jin meet Liu Min for their first target, lian tianchen and Qian Jin look the same age as they do in season 2. so, they probably started working together recently within the past year and thats when things got sloppy. liu min was already going to murder emma, as himself, and freely giving away his identity when mentioning the company's and his money. after he became paralyzed that gave him a perfect alibi for committing crimes as himself.
a reason why they would use liu min and not some random persons photo is bc they dont know where/what that person is doing. they can use a photo taken at any time but it doesn't show what situation or location they'll be placed in.
by using liu min that can accurately prepare (especially for showing up at their time studio bc cheng xiaoshi told him to meet exactly at 10pm, so they needed to predict how long it will take them to get to studio from where the person in the photo is. and they can only do that by havjng that person in front of them)
*why it got more sloppy i think is bc li tianchen and liu min were working without Qian Jin. Qian Jin works for liu's father and liu's father had no idea what was going on it seemed. like when liu got arrested and then died, his father had no idea why. Qian Jin would also know the situation and be reporting it to his father if they were working as a trio. also it seems like liu min only calls for li tianchen (the times hes shown shouting "come my friend" / "help me kill them my friend"). so Liu Min just naturally being unhinged and chaotic could make the murders stick out more.
theory: Liu Min might have powers as well. he's mentioned also going on an overseas trip in the past and it seems like he can just call out for li tianchen and become possessed, giving him the ability to walk again and an abili for committing murders not sure how that would work though

Liu Lan and Liu Siwen aren't related to the brothers or their father. Even though Liu is transliterated the same, the Liu of the two brothers and father are actually written in a different way than the Liu in either Liu Siwen or Liu Lan's names. The surnames are pronounced very similar but they could also be written as Liu, Leu, Lew

in the 'dive back in time' intro, Lu guang is seen holding shredded parts of a photo and cxs is then shown lying on photos...
Lu Guang told cxs to hold on to the photo of ltx and her mum so it is not lost and their current future is not disturbed.. almost as if he has destroyed photos himself to destroy a future he left. after all, when cxs goes back he comes back by clapping his hands, and there's no way lu Guang can go on without mistakenly clapping his hands and going to the future, so he destroys the photo he used to dive back, so he doesn't end up back in the timeline he left. this is further fueled by the fact that when cxs controlling lg was touched by ltc, only cxs gets thrown out but future lg doesn't go back. after all Ltc's powers seem to overwhelm dive
also, in the ss1 basketball scene and that part where lg"s face blurs out, it could actually be the time lg went back to, going along well with the "go back to the beginning" thing lg said in ep 12 ss2, as that was literally the first time cxs and lg met each other
also in the 'retroverthink' song, there's a scene in the beginning where cxs walks towards 3 other cxs's and then there's a very very brief glimpse of many cxs's, a few lying on the ground, dressed in cxs's ss1 attire (his death that lg witnessed?) and a cxs in crutches, and some cxs's standing at the back alone and one cxs in the right back that is standing in a very... wierd manner (trigger warning)
If Lu Guang was actually a time traveler, what if he mets Cheng Xiaoshi later in the timeline? If they didn't meet earlier I would assume that Cheng Xiaoshi would have no knowledge of his powers so what if he only finds out about them at the last minute? Say, he gets caught up in whatever conflict Lu Guang would have caused by breaking the "don't change the past" rule (assuming that it isn't him saving Cheng Xiaoshi that causes the conflict in the first place.)
What if he died in this conflict and Lu Guang went back in time to meet him earlier and sort of teach him about his powers? (Could it be that him knowing about his powers is somehow linked to his survival?) It's been a while since I rewatched season 1 but what if the reason Cheng Xiaoshi seemed so hesitant (if I remember correctly) to stay in the past after 12 hours wasn't because Lu Guang can only see that far, but because he didn't know he could stay that long?
If Lu Guang wanted to keep an eye on him, knowing how brash Cheng Xiaoshi can be, it would be better to intentionally let him believe that he could only stay in the past as far back as Lu Guang could see... idk that's just an idea

About the "lu guang's hair is white because of travelling back in time" theory
So i just went and rewatched the scene where they supposedly show "qiao ling"'s hair as white, but what i noticed was something we call a "rim light". Rim light basically tries to differentiate the image from the background. And which closer inspection, the color was more yellowish-brownish. this may be due to the colouring, and putting white would be make it stand out a lot, but i think that was just use of rim lighting. (yes i dont want to get depressed after knowing how many times my baby lu guang had to dive 😭)

Vein is a friend of Liu Xiao aka Xavier and his eyes are red. He could have been the first red eye because he kept going on about some game and punishment in S1 when he stabbed Lu Guang and he repeated the same line in the trailer. It must be why he chose to stab Lu Guang, because of his frustration that he keeps changing the timeline. Perhaps he is the time keeper of the game (the time lines must all just be a game to him). Or it could also have just been Liu Min himself. Liu Min wanted to kill and humiliate the victims unlike Qian Jin who wanted to make their death seem like a suicide because he’s a law enforcement officer and lawyer and hence doesn’t want to be found out. I think TianChen’s killing style has more to do with the personality of who is hiring him. Killing them brutally is in correspondence with Lui Min’s personality while Qian Jin would have been a more covert killer so making it look like a suicide suits him well. These are just my theories though.

My theory is once’s Lu Guang changed the past, his future from where he come stopped existing OR he stopped being of that future timeline that makes possible for him to possess his memories from future while being in his body from past without being knocked out to future while being possessed by someone else.
Why am I saying this is that when Chen was in body of Li Tianxi and Li Tianchen’s mother he was kicked out by combined power of twins. This wasn’t the case for Lu Guang after being possessed by Chen Xiaoshi.
This proves my theory UNLESS he really jumps back in time back and forth reviving the same day of Chen’s death.

My working theory is that CXS getting involved in Emma’s case is what leads to his death. Lu Guang working so hard to hide the fact that Emma died from CXS delayed the inevitable for a few months until CXS eventually found out and got involved. Hence why the dates where Lu guang travels from in the future and when lu Guang gets stabbed being a few months apart.
1:17 I like to think Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi were being chased in the forest and Cheng Xiaoshi got shot from someone else, 9:12 In S1 Ep 1 Lu is the youngest of them all and Cheng and Qiao are in their early 20s

I think that Tianchen is a sincere boy who wants to protect his sister and was used by this sinister ex cop guy. And 'red eyes' is what posseses people and activates their worst side. So when it possesses Tianxi it can't do much harm, because she is too innocent. When it possesses Tianchen it latches to his trauma and teenage boy rage and disappointment in adults and it turns him into a feral killer. As a 'power' wielded by Tianchen it can turn the possessed victims into killers as well (secondhand possession).

There are many that I had already thought about and many others that you just made me discover and left me with a lot to think about. the last theory about Li Tianchen not being "red eyes" didn't convince me enough at first since I simply associated all those inconsistencies with the fact that Li Tianchen due to trauma and hatred seems to have developed two different personalities and only sometimes he had episodes of sanity thanks to his sister. But then you mentioned red eyes' overuse of the word "friend" and how it resembles Liu Xiao's way of speaking... and omg ngl, that would actually make a lot of sense! Anyway, what a great show to comment on and let our imagination flow thinking about all the possibilities. For now we can only hope that the movie comes out asap since we don't have any manghua to answer all our questions while we wait for the 3rd season🥲😭

Li tiachen doesnt know abt cxs ' powers because li tianxi literally doesnt tell him, and also, for him killing was like a coping mechanism, the hell he was describing is his present with his sad sister and his past, which is why he likes murdering but doesnt like seeing li tianxi sad, so he kinda stops killing ig??? And also, his first murder, was meant to be covered up, making it look like a suicide, he was making is so that the death of the cheater and qiao's wife had no connection to them, plus, he was saying that the people he killed weren't innocent to please qiao, since he had him by his side, but when qiao pointed the gun, tiachen revealed he never was never actually sided with him and told him the truth, the truth he couldnt accept, that his wife was innocent. Also, the man who leads li tiachen and li tianxi in wolf mode, is most likely qiao, bcz of their interactions after the police came to tiachen's house after the murder.

About red eyes: I recently rewatched s1 of link click, and there is DEFINITELY more than 1 red eyes. This is because, Qiao Ling stabbing Lu Guang (while being posessed) and Liu Min chocking himself to death (while being posessed) happened at the EXACT same time.
This would also explain the discrepancy between the behaviours of the crazy red eyes we see and how Li Tianchen acts.
Maybe the reason why there are 2 red eyes is because there is someone whose power is to copy the powers of others?? Who knows
Also, I think red eyes purposefully stabbed Lu Guang in a way that he would survive, since he did it just to punish Cheng Xiaoshi for cheating in the 'game'.
And with “taking” CXS’ powers it’s made for us to assume that it’s tianchen possessing qiao ling at that point. But while they’re fighting whoever is in qiao lings body seems to be genuinely trying to hurt/kill CXS. So maybe they were planning on killing CXS and having the powers transferred to them that way? Chen bin acts like he’s in a trance and doesn’t talk at all. Almost like li tianchen is just influencing his actions instead of directly possessing him. Like when he is in physical contact with CXS at the police station.
@@alpacalips4887 ohh interesting! although, when li tianchen posessed both CXS and wang juan, he did make them talk to some police officers when they were sneaking out (like the guy right outside the interrogation room and the other one outside) but it's true that they were talking in a way less unhinged way than when emma got posessed for example.... so far i think emma, qiao ling and liu min (when he went into the dark room) were probably not posessed by li tianchen 🤔

I thought it was already confirmed that dives could last longer than twelve hours. In the Earthquake episode, Cheng Xiaoshi starts off at a basketball game in the evening, with the sun up, and plays the whole game. The whole game would probably be 1.5-2 hours, then he went home, then, we see he's still in control for part of the time as he'd being rescued in broad daylight the next morning. The Earthquake was in May, meaning the days were longer, but even so, that would be cutting it close, what with the night time taking up a whole ten hours.

Just me trying to cover plot holes but you mention Red Eyes should be knowing how everything works because of their memory thing. But if you think about it Cheng Xiaoshi also has that power! It is clearly mentioned he inherits the memories and feelings of the people he inhabits, but why doesn't he know certain details? I'd like to think it's because only key or very important memories are shown. Like Xiaoshi's death to Lu Guang, I'd like to say that's pretty key memory for him. Emma spending time with her parents, etc.
So perhaps the exact way Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi's power wasn't really an important memory for Qiao Ling.

For Cheng Xiaoshi, the way memories are presented to him is when he's in desperation or not really focused on something. Desperation could be like when he was fighting on top of the mountain and not being focused on something could be when he was falling asleep as Emma.
You get what I'm going for here? I'd say Xiaoshi was pretty occupied when he took over Lu Guang's body so perhaps it didn't come to mind.
For Xixi I'd say she isn't as occupied when she uses her power. Her power is to see what a person is doing in the present time as well as see their memories, right? Perhaps because she herself isn't possessing someone she isn't as occupied to not see their memories.
While this is probably just me being desperate for reasons how XIAOSHI DOESN'T KNOW HE'S DIED and how Red Eyes doesn't have memory loop holes it is something.
Also if you combine the twins powers it is literally Cheng Xiaoshi's power but in the present. I wonder if the hat guy, Xiao, I believe? Has some power related to the future, perhaps it is like Cheng Xiaoshi's power except he can jump to the future. But how would that work considering you can't get photos of the future? Would it be like a certain time limit he can jump? Just thoughts...

Man.. I will get a lot of hate for this but god. This series is awful. The pacing is weird. The character keep making weird decision. Police super useless. And just the time travel, I swear it feel like it keep breaking its own rule. And before anyone, hate me for this. Atleast you gotto admit that the pacing for season 2 is really really bad. We keep seeing flashback

@@taawesome2949 I do think the pacing for season 2 is worse than season 1. It surprised me because season 1, especially episode 1, felt very fast-paced and set very clear rules. The fight scenes of season 2 and some of the flashbacks/conversations felt very slow to me in comparison. I think they messed up the pacing because they wanted to write a "complicated" plot but just added unnecessary scenes
As for writing about time travel being hard... they seemed to do a great job of it in season 1. And there was actually so little time travel in season 2. CXS and LG did their first dive like 3 eps into the season. CXS only used surveillance cams once, and it turns out the pink-hair twins can't time travel at all!
However, I do think the writers did genuinely plan some things in advance. There are certain things they haven't told us, like how CXS and LG met and how they got their powers. It feels like they were foreshadowing things since season 1 (CXS asking if he and LG will ever stop getting along, LG's face "glitching" in a flashback in ep 4, etc.). So I'm hopeful that they at least have some answers written in advance
That's kinda the point, dude. It's supposed to be secretive, to keep you guessing. If everything was laid out in black and white and simple af then it'd be a boring af show. They're covering a multitude of genres, whereas most shows tend to stick to three at most

Some people pointed out that Qiao Ling in the last episode had a strand of hair that is white in colour.( during the scene when she wondered why she saw Cheng Xiao Shi dying in Lu Guang's memory)
They say the strand of white hair exists because Qiao Ling uses other people's (Tian Xi's) powers.
They think that maybe every time someone possesses others power, they will get a strand of white hair. The theory suggests Lu Guang has been reusing Cheng Xiao Shi powers over and over again just to save Cheng Xiao Shi, till the point his hair is completely white.
If this is real, I would honestly feel so sad for Lu Guang.

I don’t think the clothing is very reliable. Cheng Xiaoshi’s jacket was stained with Lu Guang’s blood so it makes sense he changed attires.
I think Lu Guang has always had Cheng Xiaoshi’s powers. What I mean is that we’ve never seen Lu Guang before he obtained Cheng’s power. Think about it. Why would Cheng Xiaoshi’s power trigger when he high fives Lu Guang? It’s because it’s the same power in both of them. Otherwise why is Lu Guang specifically the only person who activates Cheng’s power when they high-five?
and the reason why lu guang is never shown to use his time travel power is bcs he can't double dive back in time since he already IS using it

Cheng (“eng” sounds like the vowels in the word hung - like you have hung the phone up - not “ang” like you have change in your pocket)
Xiaoshi (xiao is like the beginning of the word “shall” before the L sound -- don’t pronounce “shi” like she - it’s more similar to the English word “sure)
I wouldn’t say its hinting anything about the english pronunciation but I like your notice of how the words sound. I think its more towards the chinese definition, for example, Cheng Xiaoshi in chinese is “程小时”.
Cheng程 meaning journey, Xiao小 meaning small, and shi时 meaning time, which I think connects from whats happening.

I'm a bit late, but everything about this series reminds me of Omniscient reader's viewpoint. It's a (finished) korean novel, it also has a manhwa (ongoing) and is supposed to be adapted into a live series and an anime. It has a very different plot, but the caracter dinamic and their thinking is very similar+ the ones in orv also have associate black/white. Without spoiling, I'm just gonna say that there's a caracter that lives many MANY lifetimes just to save another caracter. I wholeheartedly recommend omniscient reader, it's so so good and fandom is so very talented.

After watching this I came up with a theory and it's related to episode 5.5, the episode where they help the old martial artist couple. Here's my theory:
I think it's kinda weird how the episode number is 5.5 to begin with, I don't know if there's a non canon motive to that or if is a common thing to do but I believe it's on purpose and I theorize that they didn't took that case on the "original timeline", because they made a bet with QL to only help her with the case if they beat her on the fighting game, wich I believe LG did won originally so they ended up skipping it.
So in this "original timeline" CX died somehow (Probably killed by Red Eyes IDRK) because he didn't learn martial arts with the old man to defend himself properly. I can't think exactly how and where CX died and why LG survived to hold CX in his arms but later LG travels back in time to try to save CX.
I don't know if LG tried multiple times to save CX on this theory but at one point he figures that if they learn martial arts to defend themselves CX probably would survive. So on the day of episode 5.5 on this new timeline, when LG grabs CX phone to go against QL LG face turns dark and purple shadows appear around him and an eerie sound starts to play. I believe that's him remembering CX dying so he takes that chance to change the "original timeline" outcome, he losts the game on purpose so they would take the case. (Don't know if he knew that they would eventually get martial arts training that way or if it was just one more blind try out of multiples, I would say it's the latter.)
And now going back to the episode number, I believe the episode is numbered as 5.5 because It didn't happen originally, they didn't take that case and didn't learn to fight. LG inserted it between 5 and 6 and made it happen and it worked in the end, but with that he changed an unchangeable point that is death and made the parallel lines of fate uncertain. Wich on S3 Liu Xiao with Li Tianchen's help will seek to bring the lines together and make the uncertain certain, as he say he will on the end of season 2. (Probably to prevent events of the butterfly effect on the future)
That's my theory, there's some holes about exact time points and how exactly the events went down like CX death and I don't know how this holds itself on the grand scheme of things but It made a lot of sense to me after rewatching the scene that I mentioned on the 3rd paragraph. It would portray time travel butterfly effect perfectly like, losing on a silly game is what saves CX and maybe brings disaster in the future and maybe even the trolley problem if it comes to choosing saving CX and let other people die in return or not.
Now with that said I wish the boys end up alive and happy together, like for real, NO MATTER THE COST THEY ARE SOULMATES I DON'T CARE IF IT WOULD BE PREDICTABLE OR CLICHE PLEASE LET THEM BE BOTH ALIVE TOGETHER OR ELSE

I think when they get back from the hospital is when he actually dives back in that why he says something about his last chance so probably in-between the time they get back and in the next few days is where he dies because if he could time leap before he would have gone with him every time they clapped so that means that the reason for his death is because he time leaped backwards to the past with a different plan.

I don’t really think so. For all he knew CXS possessed xu shan Shan’s body one day when they had their altercation and then waited til the next day to send the message at 10 am. He didn’t have to know time travel was involved.

I have a theory!
Notice that we see very few instances of Lu guang getting panicked. When the Nodes change, the future changes. That explains why Lu guang was shocked about the powers, he changed a node. Maybe, in another timeline, at a certain point, they never told Qiao Ling about their abilities and because of that they never find out about the other abilities, or something like that. I think one of the only other instances of Lu guang being panicked was when Cheng Xiaoshi got shot, because he was scared of having to restart but that’s besides the point. Those are Pretty much the only times (if I remember correctly) Lu guang was ever that shocked in the series (excluding small shocks, I mean shocks that cause like big reactions) He knows a lot of this, knows whats happening, knows exactly how to orchestrate everything. I also think it’s important to consider that his flashback was only one instance of Cheng Xiaoshi’s death, he could have died at many different times in many different ways. In the scene of Lu guang diving, he has blood on his clothes but not on his hands while in the memory his hands are so coated that you can barely see skin. It’s highly likely that, similarly to Madoka from Madoka magica, Cheng xiaoshi has died many different deaths in many different circumstances, and, like homura, lu guang has seen all of them. This also explains the season 1 clothes in the flashback
TLDR; Lu guang’s extreme shocked reactions may come from different nodes being changed, and Cheng Xiaoshi’s death happened in many different circumstances and poor Lu guang has seen all of them

Fun fact: Chinese title is Shiguang Dailiren (Time Agent) and MCs names are Cheng Xiao Shi and Lu Guang. Their first names set together create Shiguang (Time). Cheng Xiao Shi means: Journey Little Time. He has little time left in his live journey. I have no revelations for 'Lu', it can mean land or shore though and is just a popular Chinese surname.

To me the personality change of the serial killer of season 1 and season 2 seems like they had a different plan for who was Red Eyes. Like im 100% sure Red Eyes is the pink hair guy from season 2 but they simply didnt have it all planned from the begginign or whatever they had wasnt that interesting so they changed it. Maybe in season 3 its actually revealed that someone else if Red Eyes and then its like BOOOM mind blown but who knows.
