    Only two minutes in, but wow, how clever is Nuno? I was just trying to figure this out in my head and thought it was straight alternate picking, but that little hammer on just to give it that little skip in the rhythm. Brilliant. Great playing by yourself too!

    I have been a fan of this virtuoso solo since first watching 'Bill & Ted', and this is the clearest breakdown of each element of its construction and execution! Thank you for this analysis and tuition!

    I’ll come back to this when I’m not drunk, and have a guitar in my hand. I love how you demystify what sounds otherworldly. Thanks for this. Nuno is an incredible player/composer 👍🏻

    Around about 8 minutes in, that diminished string skipping arpeggio doesn’t actually end on the 9th fret of the g string before it switches to the b minor arpeggio, it actually lands the last note on the 7th fret so it changes arpeggio 1 note earlier than the ear expects. Don’t mean to nitpick as your videos are ace, but it’s absolute genius by Nuno and such a small nuance that shows how he thinks differently

      @@mastertheguitar Yeah tabs work great. Gotta say that I remember looking at this solo at the beginning of lockdown and the intro just didn't sound right. As soon as you said to do a hammer on and pull off and then pick it sounds so much better and I can actually get it to flow really nicely. Now to work up that speed lol

    I play this with a slap back delay however I saw from your lesson there was a section I had wrong.

    Hi mate amazing lesson. I'm really having a hard time bringing section 4 up to speed. Are there any tips you could provide regarding tension / how much pressure you apply when pressing down onto the fretboard etc. Or do you feel as though this is movement that some perhaps naturally have? You absolutely nail it! Thanks :)

    • @mastertheguitar
      @mastertheguitar  3 года назад +2

      Hey man, as you mention lack of tension is key for moving quickly in that section, that percussive legato technique of Nuno's requires a lighter touch, almost flutter like. Working on the first two bars will get help work on that touch before moving to the trickier string skipped arpeggios after. The movement of the index finger can be the bottleneck so focus on that feeling relaxed and smooth when moving from string to string. Relax, breathe and I'm sure you'll have it nailed in no time! 🙂

    • @nigelnunes
      @nigelnunes 3 года назад

      @@mastertheguitar Thank you so much, that's incredibly helpful. I did notice actually how focusing on having the index finger in place almost sets you up for successful execution the subsequent notes that follow on that respective string; phenomenally delicate and (like you said) 'flutter-like' movements. I'm stilling bringing this up to speed, albeit with more confidence and motivation now thanks to you. Cheers once more! :)

    I've been practicing this for weeks but I'm stuck at 140bpm, any idea on what I can do further improve the speed?

    • @mastertheguitar
      @mastertheguitar  20 дней назад +1

      Try playing beyond what is comfortable to get a feel for what you have to physically do nearer full tempo. e.g if your current limit is X bpm play it at X+10 bpm, even if it all comes of the rails, then go back to Xbpm. Hopefully you'll find X bpm easier than before. HTH
