Only two minutes in, but wow, how clever is Nuno? I was just trying to figure this out in my head and thought it was straight alternate picking, but that little hammer on just to give it that little skip in the rhythm. Brilliant. Great playing by yourself too!
Nuno is THE man! Thanks for checking the video out and your kind comments :)
I have been a fan of this virtuoso solo since first watching 'Bill & Ted', and this is the clearest breakdown of each element of its construction and execution! Thank you for this analysis and tuition!
I’ll come back to this when I’m not drunk, and have a guitar in my hand. I love how you demystify what sounds otherworldly. Thanks for this. Nuno is an incredible player/composer 👍🏻
Did you come back to it?
@@flatlandrory Maybe he's still drunk :P
Hah,
Thanks for explaining how to do the intro in detail, without alternate picking! Great jam, and a great lesson
Another killer lesson.
The fretboard diagrams with the intervals is SICK. Love how thorough this is. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Very helpful. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
This is the best I’ve ever seen this broken down. Great lesson!
Glad it helped!
Fantastic tutorial. Thank you for this.
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome thanks!!!! More nuno please
Thank you so much for sharing this 🙌👏
You are so welcome!
Good Lesson 😎👍🏻
Don't often come across any prominent guitar channels from Scotland! Great content and great playing!
Great lesson, thanks. This makes learning it seem not as impossible as before. Solo lesson request: Friday by Autograph :)
Thanks for another amazing lesson.
I see you like to do
the impossible🙂
Around about 8 minutes in, that diminished string skipping arpeggio doesn’t actually end on the 9th fret of the g string before it switches to the b minor arpeggio, it actually lands the last note on the 7th fret so it changes arpeggio 1 note earlier than the ear expects. Don’t mean to nitpick as your videos are ace, but it’s absolute genius by Nuno and such a small nuance that shows how he thinks differently
Correction. It’s right in your tab and other video. Great work
Please do the whole song 🤘🤘🤘
Absolutely amazing job! Really good to see someone slow it down and give clear instruction on how to play it. I think the link to the TAB might be broken though.
🙏 thanks so much man, appreciate it :) Thank you for the heads up about the TAB link, should be working now.
@@mastertheguitar Yeah tabs work great. Gotta say that I remember looking at this solo at the beginning of lockdown and the intro just didn't sound right. As soon as you said to do a hammer on and pull off and then pick it sounds so much better and I can actually get it to flow really nicely. Now to work up that speed lol
Just watched Bill & Ted's Excellent adventure and found myself here... superb!
Righteous! *guitar twiddle*
Bodacious.
You have the greatest lessons man. Thank you... especially for Bark at the Moon! (No one wants to touch the Silverhawks cartoon intro. Just an idea for you sir! ;)
So glad the videos are of help! Thanks for taking the time to check them out. :)
I play this with a slap back delay however I saw from your lesson there was a section I had wrong.
Hi mate amazing lesson. I'm really having a hard time bringing section 4 up to speed. Are there any tips you could provide regarding tension / how much pressure you apply when pressing down onto the fretboard etc. Or do you feel as though this is movement that some perhaps naturally have? You absolutely nail it! Thanks :)
Hey man, as you mention lack of tension is key for moving quickly in that section, that percussive legato technique of Nuno's requires a lighter touch, almost flutter like. Working on the first two bars will get help work on that touch before moving to the trickier string skipped arpeggios after. The movement of the index finger can be the bottleneck so focus on that feeling relaxed and smooth when moving from string to string. Relax, breathe and I'm sure you'll have it nailed in no time! 🙂
@@mastertheguitar Thank you so much, that's incredibly helpful. I did notice actually how focusing on having the index finger in place almost sets you up for successful execution the subsequent notes that follow on that respective string; phenomenally delicate and (like you said) 'flutter-like' movements. I'm stilling bringing this up to speed, albeit with more confidence and motivation now thanks to you. Cheers once more! :)
Absolutely stunning bit of guitar jiggery pokery there so well done to you Sir , how about you do the solo from " L'il Jock Horny " next . Yeah I know but couldn't help myself , but anyways so nice to see someone do such a sterling job who isn't American .

Superb. Is that the new Jack Butler guitar?
It’s similar but this is a 1986 Japanese Charvel Model 2. I did see that Jackson had done a run/reissue of the Jack Butler guitars though :)
mastertheguitar Interesting. Yours look very cool. 👍🏻
@@mastertheguitar You just reminded me I have a red 1980s neckthrough Charvel model five 🙂
which I haven’t played
in a long time.
Ty Tabor drew both of his dogs
on it for me.
I was rubbing them off as I played.
I've been practicing this for weeks but I'm stuck at 140bpm, any idea on what I can do further improve the speed?
Try playing beyond what is comfortable to get a feel for what you have to physically do nearer full tempo. e.g if your current limit is X bpm play it at X+10 bpm, even if it all comes of the rails, then go back to Xbpm. Hopefully you'll find X bpm easier than before. HTH
Sounds like flight of the bumblebee.
only took me a million hours to tune my ffloyd rose down a half step llol
I don't know... the fingering is so inconvenient...
