    Well said. I would add, a woman should never let her gender or age keep her from her passion or just trying something new.

    I am a disabled homemaker and #8 touched my heart. I don't have children but I have a husband and aging parents. Because of my disability I would be considered worthless in the workforce, but as a homemaker I am priceless to my family. All people have value. ❤

      I agree... My son is disabled and he is priceless to me, my husband, and the rest of our family. His worth (and yours) is not measured by how able bodied he is for work. He has accomplished so much when doctors said he wouldn’t/ couldn’t and brings joy I couldn’t imagine in my wildest dreams. I’m positive your family feels the same about you 💜. Thank you for sharing 😊

      When you tear others down it’s oretty much going to lower your own energy frequency. When you wish bad upon others it’s gonna come back to you. What goes up comes down, what goes around comes around. You are what you think and will manifest that I’m your life.

      Katerini INFJ When I was in college, almost all of my friends were waitstaff, and the horror stories they told me absolutely floored me. I was raised by people who taught me to be kind to everyone, and I wrongly assumed that everybody else behaved this way. Now that I own antique stores, I take up for my workers. They will never have to put up with verbally abusive customers as long as I'm around!

    • @iluvubb247
      @iluvubb247 5 лет назад +13

      They say, you can pretty much judge people’s character the way they treat people who work as customer service anything. Especially, if you’re out on a date and wanna know who you’re dealing with quicker. Anyways, the point is, if they treat your waiter bad, they will eventually treat you as such.

    • @Mads270791
      @Mads270791 5 лет назад

      Right!! Even if I’m in horrible pain, when I was younger I had the mad at the world syndrome since I wasn’t diagnosed (endometriosis severe,ovarian cysts and kidney stones) and I would always try to be as nice as I could at the time, but now as I’m older, I especially try to do everything to be do whatever/answer quickly and politely to be as nice and easy going, but now it’s easier bc I’m diagnosed and I would have a very hard time before with doctors not thinking anything was wrong, or we started in the wrong spot... (GI). I can also say this goes both ways, I think sometimes it’s sad bc, nurses especially in the ER, and who’ve been around a long time (just SOME NOT ALL) get hardened in my opinion... just bc they see so much of it..... but young nurses/doctors can harden (not be so compassionate) quick too. I’ve had a lot of ups and down with different doctors and it can be frustrating so it’s great when they understand that also, I’m not always in my perfect state of polite mind when I’m in intolerable pain, but I always try to smile and be as kind as possible, esp to make up for time when I was younger and wasnt as patient (regardless of what I was going thru no excuse) now, one of my fav things, (since I see diff doctors on the reg and if I have to go the ER) I love writing them thank you notes to the hospital doctors and the nurses....

    I really agree with tip 10. My aunt was in a verbally abuse marriage for years, and she was greatly affected by it. She managed to get out of it and is now remarried to a wonderful man that treats her as she deserves. I can see the giant change in her, and her life is so much better and she is so much happier.

  • @LorenaHernandez-zl7fg

    I totally agree with 9 out of 10 things mentioned. The only one I do not agree with is cursing when you’re not angry, especially as a Mexican, 'cause our curse words are extremely cathartic.
    Let me explain myself: Throughout my life, I’ve been an introverted insecure person. My family taught me that saying bad words was wrong and tacky, so I made a commitment to myself to never ever say a bad word and that made me feel superior from others... you know, like a more civilized person. But when I started going to psychoanalytic therapy, I discovered that I was repressing myself SO much, that it was tearing myself apart from the inside out. So then, I started cursing just a little bit around my friends, and it was hard, everyone looked at me like "wow, you said a bad word? I didn’t think I would ever hear you talking like that, it feels so weird", but overtime I began to feel better and more confident. Now I curse when I feel like cursing without any sense of guilt, even when I’m joking or telling a cool story and it is SO liberating, but the important thing is that now I can say I always stay true to myself while I remain respectful to others.
    Thanks for reading me, I just wanted to share my experience :)

      Happy Cheli You know what's interesting? I own two antique shops and a property appraisal firm, and I am 26 years old, though I am often told I look younger than I am (this is pertinent to the story). You wouldn't believe how rude some people can be... until they find out that I own the stores. A customer will berate and belittle me, even going so far as ad hominem attacks, until it is revealed that I am not "just an employee." Something clicks in their head, and they see me as more of an equal. Their tone changes completely. It's quite an insight - a sad and unfortunate insight - into how certain people act toward others depending on social class.

    Great topic! Love lots of the comments below. As women we should support each other more often.
    One thing I would like to add is that women who are mothers shouldn’t judge women who aren’t. You have no idea (and really none of anyone’s business) why they don’t have children. It can be a choice or decision, or it could break her heart to talk about it. If you’re a mom, great; and if you’re not a mom, that’s fine too.
    Way too much judgment.
    Thank you for being YOU and sharing some really good reminders we all need to follow. ♥️

    I love this Shea! I would also like to add my 2 cents in regarding the Stay at Home mom & the Career mom both working. I think people in general need to be kind and respectful of whatever it is a woman wants to do. I don’t have children and I stay at home. I still work hard. I feel so looked down upon for that constantly. IT usually comes from other women and they make all sorts of assumptions about me based on it. So I love that you made that point and this is just my perspective that maybe some other women can relate to as well.

      You may not be implying anything critical with this question, but this is a little to my point. I feel the need to EXPLAIN why I don't work or WHAT i'm doing exactly. We don't always need to explain ourselves to people to feel any sense of worthiness or that our "work" or lives are important. Some of us have a luxury of making more choices when it comes to "formal" jobs than others and that's ok and not something we should be made to feel bad about either. @@zz-ic6vy

But I can't see any other way to live. And thank you for getting so fired up about wait staff. You go out to eat for the convenience, therefore you pay for. If you don't want to, stay home. And it's usually not the wait staffs fault. If this is the way you treat a stranger, how do you treat family?

But I love your points for servers and stay at home moms I have been a stay at home mom for the past 6 years I've had a few serving jobs here and there recently just quit one because I'm pregnant with my 4th child all 6 and under and beside their dad when he is home I have zero help.. i don't have any parents and my in laws are so judgy and stuck up my sister in laws butt and treat my husband poorly when none of them have the right to judge because I could point out many of their flaws but I don't I'm always respectful to them.. but they have judge me for staying at home so much among others but all I would be working for is child care and think its important to have that time to bond with my children and love them to pieces.. but it's an extremely hard job and can be lonely in the sense of not having many mom friends and hard to meet any when stuck at home it was getting better but then we lost a car so most days I don't leave the house unless its to go to the store.. so I enjoy watching videos when u get a chance and see I'm not alone.. I'm blessed with many things even though I had a rough childhood i knew that i wanted a stable home and family and work hard for it.. i know so many broken homes and people that just have kids with anyone so it was important to me to find a good man and start a family.. but it's hard because my family does suck and I've had to cut alot of people out because they are just toxic.. rather be alone than around a bunch of fake people.. but I have worked hard and provide for my family that many don't see what I do and bring to the table.. people just assume i sit on my butt and watch tv and yes ive had my lazy days being bored at home but still constantly doing things for my children.. it's even harder now being pregnant taking care of 3 little ones.. but working is hard to and my kids would get so upset when I left for work its heartbreaking.. but it's what ya have to do to provide.. thankfully my husband works extremely hard for us.. but we do bump heads sometimes because he thinks I'm not doing anything because the house isnt perfect.. but when I was working and he stayed home he started to understand how hard it is to have a perfectly clean house with toddlers.. and now a days it's hard to find a good baby sitter that you can trust because they are all lazy and want to be paid ridiculous amount of money to sit on their phones.. so that puts stress on us never getting alone time that we need.. buy at the end of the day it's all worth it because I have a beautiful home with beautiful, healthy children and I could have turned out like alot of people I grew up around but always been a strong person to work and fight for what I want in life. And the older I get the less I care what others think because no one is perfect and it's the mistakes that make you grow and mature into a beautiful soul.. I can look back on all the hard times and truely appreciate what I have and to not take it for granted because it could change in a blink of an eye..anyway love the videos I have the same thoughts and style as you so really enjoys listening to you and also learned a few things too! So I will be a regular viewer from now! So keep the videos coming doll! Lol hopefully you read this Haha.

    The biggest thing I see is women putting themself down. Saying oh im dumb, oh im hideous, uh I'm fat. We should not be talking negatively about ourself to ourselves and others. I have an app on my phone called Affirmations. It sends me positive quotes and I can add my own too. So I add quotes or lyrics that make me smile. Helps me to think more positively. Shea you are awesome! Glad I found your videos they are super fun, informtaive and relatable!

    Agree with all points especially #6. I really hate it when people treat wait staff or sales people poorly. If someone is rude to service people it just reflects so negatively on them - I feel embarrassed for them! Thanks for the great videos!

    SHEA this was excellent and responsible! all points are great! as a muslim with a degree in biblical studies I find that the no gossip rule very important! thank you for saying that! Gossip is ugly and it breaks down your faith, it is said that angels are all ways around us; but when we engage in gossip angles walk away from us because they don't want to wittness ugliness. I agree with all your points

      Hi George, I don't know if you have ever heard of this but there are lessons in Judaism about Lashon Hara(translates to the evil tongue)which includes topics about the extent of gossiping outside of what we normally think gossip is. Very interesting and enlightening. Google it to find some good articles. Opened my eyes for sure. Be blessed!

      I agree with you, and I'm a Christian. Jesus spoke about using kind uplifting words and my favorite is "turn the other cheek". When someone is being nasty, sometimes it's best to just walk away.
      I love seeing the different areas where faiths can agree on.

    I am now a full time mom of three since I’ve had my baby in April and honestly, it’s harder for me than when I was a working mom. Omg lol at least when I worked I could take a break from home craziness and interact with other adults often. When you’re a stay at home mom, there is no break! Lol it takes a lot of patience and honestly I can’t get a break lol. I totally embrace it though. I love everything you mentioned 🙌🏽

    Totally agree with how you should treat people in the service industry, (Servers, Building Guards, etc.) My Mom always taught me...”You can tell alot about a person’s true character by how they treat someone who can do nothing for them.”

    Definitely agree, never be mean to servers. Let's also remember to be nice to gate agents at the airport. Flight delays, cancelations, and weather are not their fault. If you're late and miss your flight, don't be disrespectful and make demands. Be kind, polite, and show manners always. Classy behavior is so attractive

    Thank you for mentioning #3. I've been sick for about 2 years with various valid illnesses and some with no diagnoses. I was just diagnosed with something new and instantly i googled it. I've been doing this for two years and it probably made matters worse and caused me more anxiety and depression. I just paused this video and deleted my medical googles. Also treating your waiter waitress is a good one. My kids have all worked in the restaurant business and the stories they have come home with are appalling. People treat these young kids who are putting themselves through college like if they're nobodies. Smh

    I totally agree on the advice you gave about WebMD! I used to research my symptoms and then I'd get depressed thinking that I had some sort of terminal illness. It's never a good idea to be researching common symptoms because you are going to waste so much time thinking that you're dying. I've learned to try and live happily or schedule a doctor's appointment if I'm not feeling better after some time. Great advice!

    I’m watching this a year later, but everything you said hit home with me. I agree on the foul language in everyday conversation! I would hear coworkers at my old job talk that way, and honestly, it got old, fast! Also, the last point is so true. I was in a controlling, abusive marriage for 13 years. I finally had the courage to take my 3 sons and I and get help. It was the scariest thing I’ve ever done, but with God, counseling, and help from true friends and family, we got through it. There is light at the end of the tunnel! I’m now married to an awesome man of God who’s great to me and the boys. So whoever’s reading this, Shea is right. There are truly good people out there who will love you and will never seek to control and manipulate you...ever. Thanks so much for risking the criticism and making this video, Shea! God bless you! Hugs from a stay-at-home homeschool mom and ministers. 😉 💕 🤗
