On Shackleton: most of my mates are Leeds fans because of where I live* (probably quite similar for you Jimmy). The opinion from them was that they're sad to see him go but more because hes a great first backup in about 6 positions rather than because he's going to go on to have a big prem career or whatever. They describe him as someone who does a LOT well, constantly gives 100%, never less than a 6.5 or 7 out of 10, very few mistakes and hes good at recovering if he does. However he's not likely to get many minutes fornleeds because they have one or two players ahead of him in all his positions. *Speaking of where I live, I'm sure I'll see some of you in here in the away end at Harrogate Town on Tuesday... I know, I'm a plastic fan, only going to away games when I can walk it from my flat 😉
“Biggest summer in years” “Huge rebuild needed” and yet we have less players that we started with!! Players are leaving because we’re not paying them what they’re worth. Transfers and contract renewals are all subjective. However, look at the facts… Point deduction ✅ Transfer embargo ✅ Lack of investment in the club ✅ * Borrowing against future earnings ✅ Agreed to sell to 2 criminals ✅ You disagreed with virtually critical comment. Appreciate you want to maintain a relationship with the club…but how can anyone defend this owner? Look at the state of the squad! The club is an utter shambles and has been for last 2 / 3 years! Price was very fortunate with CW & Hecky. We haven’t got a new training ground. Has building even started? We have permission to apply for planning permission.
I sit on the fence when it comes to owners but after last year's summer transfer window, the embargo, the Shirecliffe pitches debacle, the manner of relegation and the points deduction for this season the Prince has lost any credits he had. The money from last season went on the hotel and land at Dore, increasing fixed assets, making the club more attractive to investors. Now we have a self imposed transfer embargo at such a crucial time and still people say he's the best owner in our history. Wake up and smell the coffee.
The man puts everything he can into the club, not his fault he’s not a billionaire - you focus on the bad with no mention of the good. 3 out of 5 years in prem. over 100m spent on transfers. Season tickets constantly fair priced under his ownership, they’re about twice as much in S6. I get there’s been bad, but I guarantee you it hurt him more than you. He wants the club to do well, he gives every penny he can to make that happen. Now since it’s not enough to keep us in the prem and being a self sustaining club can’t work when your competitors are willing to take multi millions in losses year on year, he’s been trying to bring in investment for years to push on to the next level and fix all that. He only wants the club to do well, and is as big a fan as any of us, trying to do everything he can to see it do well, without risking the clubs future - I know all this because he’s open and Frank about it if you’ll take the time to watch the interview he did with Ingood Nick. Same with Bettis interview from last year. Careful what you wish for, he absolutely has been the best owner of my lifetime and I’m happy and proud to throw my hat in that ring.
Though it grieves me to say it: with the lack of progress in the take over and thus by extension the knock on effect on player recruitment, I can see the truffle snufflers of S6 taking over as the top team in the city. Have we learnt nothing from a year ago. I hope I'm wrong.
Wednesday will batter us this season mate. Momentum's with them, they've got a better manager, players who want to be there and they're adding more players too. We're a mess with a manager who's been useless for years, unfit ownership and players that aren't good enough
I said ages ago that the owner is playing all Blades fans for fools, just like the other two failed takeovers,he does not want to sell he wants to keep his fingers in the money pie at the same time as spending as little (new money) as possible......so now you will see the exodus of Bogle,Hamer,Anel,Souza.....and even Arblaster late in the window.....the rest of the squad are safe as no other club will be coveting/wanting them.
Anel and Souza don't even want to be here judging by their performances last season. Get rid. Bogle is a right footed Max Lowe and has never been good enough defensively.
Every player in every club is available for the right price. Souza going out on loan probably makes sense, Bogle, Ahmedhodzic & Hamer could raise a profit on each deal. Bogle’s value is falling by the week, last 12 months of his contract & he’s not a defender anyway, his best moves are in the final third.. Change of system needs a change of staff on the wings. I’ve no problem with trading players, recent signings are good. Takeover situation is interesting, not panicking though. Deals are still happening.
Hi Jimmy, please don’t take this as criticism but more food for thought as you develop the channel. I personally find your content to long, I know others may prefer, so it’s hard to please everyone. That said, have you considered edited highlights of same or ‘shorts’ I think they call them. Ten minutes is my attention span and I often find myself scrolling through your videos to find the info I’m looking for. Thanks for all the effort you put into the ramble, I’ve watched from day one and you’ve come along way UTB UTR
So if we gunna be patient then no sign off takeover we can't sign players for money .... We will struggle big time .... Can't keep getting loans or free transfers all the time only can happen at this club
I like to think there is a point let's say 2 weeks before the first game where Plan B is implemented, which irrespective of somebody saying the takeover is nearly complete United proceed to sign players with the funds we have. If the 'takeover' is then completed they can start funding for January.
@eightw5783 all what ifs pal.Worth the risk imo. We should be signing players on multi year contracts so they can play those multi years, not selling them off early to cash in. Always been utd's way selling.
Bogle's awful. Right-footed Max Lowe defensively. Bit better going forward but that's about it. Why do we never sell players when their value's high? He's never been anything special and has been at fault for so many goals so it's not really a loss
Unpopular opinion: Souza is a better player than he showed in the last third of last season. He took a month or two to get going and he finished the season mardy as owt, but between October and Feb he was probably one of our only players who ever came out of that period with any credit (him, Bogle, Hamer). It's a shame he got so mardy and when the fans turned on him he took it badly, unprofessionally, and that was disappointing. But there's definitely a player in there, and I reckon he'd be a real asset in any side that weren't by a distance the worst side in the league. I'm happy with Moore and O'Hare, especially if we keep Hamer. If we let Bogle, Anel, and Souza go that's got to be AT LEAST £40m, so we should be able to resist any offer for Hamer that isn't whatever his release clause is (which is reported to be "significantly higher" than the £15m-ish we paid for him), and even with him being out best player last season I don't see anyone chucking 20m+ on a soon-to-be 28 year old midfielder who's excellent for an hour but has massive drop offs in the later part of games that look like he uses too much energy early on and gets knackered by the hour mark.
I have nothing against Americans becoming the new club owners per se, IF and it's a big 'if' it should actually happen (and I'm not yet fully convinced,) providing they're 'wedged up' and happy to sprinkle some of their wealth on the team and the club in general (increased stadium capacity anyone?) The problem is Americans don't appreciate the traditions and history of both the game and the club here, often preferring the opportunity to make a 'buck' or two instead. As a club we are in a clique of clubs that actually own their stadium, I wouldn't take kindly to it being sold off or selling naming rights etc. The idea of 'Disney land' Bramall Lane Stadium would be too much - even if sometimes we turn in cartoon performances.
Sold Ohare the dream? 🤣🤣 Sheffield United just offered a huge signing on fee but I've heard from sources he wanted to go to Burnley but they weren't willing to match the money being spent. Considering the financial state you're in with the takeover not going through, not sure it's anything to shout about! Sorry 😅
Jesus stop clutching at straws regarding how well Wilder has done. You’ve no idea how he has done. It could be him that’s failing to make signings for all we know, which is nothing. Impossible to say he’s doing well. But yes he’s having a difficult time

Keep bogle and let him go next season on a free. If he helps us to promotion, then it's a no brainer.
and if we don't get promoted we've lost 5m or whatever the figure will be.

Hi Jimmy if Gus has clause in his contract they is nothing utd can do about it .Gus team would have had that put in before he signed
Looks like gus is going his house is for sale
Sheff Utd 2.0? More like Sheff Utd 52.0, with the number of false dawns we've had over the years!
