Just picked up this whole kit and love it. Very high quality, can take a beating and will last for years. Thanks for the review, pointed me in the right direction. Also Lester River Bushcraft were great to deal with.
I just ordered me one, what canteen do you use?
great set up . but 265 for a canteen and cover is pretty pricey. thanks for the review.
Really yikes. That's a no go. I'll keep my $50 medical bag that has a place for my canteen
Thats 2 US 2qt canteens, 2 fiddy rocks of crack cocaine and really pretty hooker!!!
This is a canteen pouch, I would like to call my own. The best I've ever seen. But sorry, 106 bucks is way to much! Nevertheless, thank you for sharing
WOW! $106 for just the carrier (which showed as out of stock in both colors today BTW), and $159 for the canteen/cup unit!
Quality stuff I'm sure, but not for the person with a mortgage & kids!
Pimp out your wife, it's for your survival!
John Smith that would be great. But it’s easier to pimp yours instead
I tried to pimp mine. Has cost me fortune. Every time I drop her off she gets a cab back home that I have to pay for.
$150 for a titanium canteen + cook kit seems pretty standard. Anything made of titanium is gonna cost you a fair dime. I'm sure that the carry bag is bomb-proof although there are cheaper options out there, and even some USGI surplus ones made of the same OCP camo material that don't cost much, albeit I can't speak to how they match up for features. Honestly I was surprised to learn that the army still issues canteens at all.
it's massively overpriced. military surplus canteen, nesting cup, pouch, and an ifak or general purpose pouch that can carry all of the other stuff and more costs around 35 to 40 dollars total and lasts just as long
I love mine. if I ever leave camp for anything, it comes with me. I replaced the strap with one from Kifaru and I like the fit better. for those complaining about price, you get what you pay for. this kit is top notch. I've cooked so much with mine already. buy once, cry once. Don't mess with krap. this will go to my son someday.
Why is it so expensive?!
At first, upon going to the website via the link in the description, I thought it came with everything in the picture(s) on the site, and the price would make sense then. After seeing this video, I know that it doesn't, and the price point is pretty ridiculous.
I know it's made in the USA, but it's just a Cordura canteen pouch. At most I think the price should be around $50.
man you look so genuinely happy about this canteen pack, like so excited, thats awesome haha made me smile.
Bought one of these and you definitely get what you pay for, top quality. Thanks for helping me make the purchase.
All jokes aside, I do the same thing with the Maxpedition nalgene water bottle pouch. I use a smaller steel water bottle so I can fit more in. Mini survival kit for travel. Nice video.
good idea
Nice piece of kit. I have the BUSHBOX ULTRALIGHT OUTDOOR POCKET STOVE. It's a multi-fuel burning stove that is very light and small. It would definitely fit in that back pocket. The stove retails for around $45, but it is well worth the money for the space you can save and the weight too. If you can get one and do a video on it, that would be way cool. Thanks for the review.
It's a nice carrier, BUT, at $110 just for the "Mother" is just not where I need to be for web gear. I find the large 2 quart canteen carrier fits a Pathfinder canteen, cup, stove and lid as well as some basic 5 C's kit items. $160 for a Ti canteen also seems over the edge as Ti does not react well with direct fire like SS does. Like I said, nice gear, just too over budget for me for what it offers.
+Grant Glenndale for Survival Ti would have some benefits. Heats faster and will produce a boil quicker especially In climates where there aren't that many resources. Like tons of wood or wet wood. Will not freeze and crack like stainless. Doesn't weigh as much. But either will do the job
Grant Glenndale I'm curious. What do you mean by "Ti does not react well with direct fire?" Do you know that the skin of the Blackbird was made out of Ti because there was no steel that could handle the temperatures?
Everett Vinzant 1. The Ti in a SR71 was very special Ti, it was a single cell structure. It was needed not just for temp but for the stresses of pressurization and de-compression. The SR71 was built loose at the seams so expansion would seal all the seams at high alt - high speeds. When on the ground, the seams loosened up and it leaked fuel like a screen door Upon landing, you could not get around the SR71 because of the heat for close to 3 hours. 2. The Ti in the canteen is multi-cell lower quality Ti and WILL after extended use, rip apart, usually at the worse moment. Ti is ok, just not suited for cooking equipment that is in direct contact with camp fires. They do ok on alcohol, butane and propane stoves though.
two suggestions for stoves: 1 The Canteen Shop has one which will fit the standard GI canteen cup...and the Ti one from heavy Cover(which I have as well). 2. The Ti folding firebox Nano Stove might fit the pocket you had your lid in, then you could put the lid in the bottom of the bag with a bandanna between the lid and the canteen cup. It might fit in the front pocket as well.
Why not a surplus gi canteen pouch? It's a fraction of the cost, and you can find them in multicam.
TactiKoolStuff 1) Two pockets on the GI canteen pouch versus the three on the Mother 2) one side pocket on the Mother carries as much as both pockets on the GI canteen pouch. 3) straps on the bottom 4) shoulder strap 5) New versus used
Just off the top of my head.
My favorite daily carry setup for summer, incredibly versatile, especially when you want to just pull over and check a spot out on the way home or something like that. It’s expensive, we all know that, but it is quality gear that will last decades, at least, the canteen will be heirloom material.
you can get an old USGI canteen cup stove slids over the canteen cup, hard to find now a days but they are great use can use wood or fuel tabs or both, i have made many cups of field coffee that way
At 4:07 you were wondering whether there was a stove that would fit into the sleeve for the canteen cup lid. Yes, my Firebox Nano with X-Case fits into that little sleeve. It's a snug fit, but it works! Btw, enjoyed your review; gave me some new ideas. Thanks.
These's the most amazing design I like the most with the titanium canteen, will surly get one for myself. Thanks for the video!
100% awesome kit and Gear. You could fit any number of stoves in there. A few for example would be.. the Firebox Nano, the Emberlit Fireant, the Bushcraft Essentials Ultralight or The Bushcraft Essentials Busbox. I watched this video once and enjoyed it. Had to hit it up again. Take care man.
Love it! SOL blanket in the front pocket and the ultralight Bushbox wood stove.
This would be a great kit to build for a light scout. I built my scout kit using a Maxpedition Water Bottle Carrier. The 12X5 worked out so well I'm building a second one. If I could afford this carrier (too many projects at the present time) it would definitely be used. Made in the USA is a big plus as well. Thanks for showing this.
👍 Have one for my stainless steel USGI canteen & cup. Works great for walks in the woods, fishing trips.
I carry a folding BUSHBOX pocket stove where you stowed your canteen cup lid. I stowed my lid beneath my cup. It's a fine set up with loads of usefulness.
I think that is the sweetest setup of its kind that I have seen. I would make the front pouch a little wider for carrying food, or whatever.
Just got mine today and love it. The Emberlit fire ant in titanium fits perfect in the back pocket and i put my lid on the bottom under the cup. this was exactly what i had been looking for as well.
the problem is that its too small, i would just prefer a small backpack, then have my canteen/cup/ fancy cover, cause thats not enough carry space for when i go hiking, i like to carry a lot more stuff, medical kit, snacks, plenty of water, extra socks, knife, flashlight, etc, so its cool but a small rucksack is my preference, it holds more and is still light.
Looks well made and practical but the price is ridiculous. $100 for a water bottle pouch!??! You can get a good small backpack for that price! Too bad because it looks like a perfect minimalist survival bag but the price is a killer deal breaker.
I can buy a med Alice pack and frame completely rigged for 49.00 us dollars then buy a Pathfinder kit to Mollie on the side and add a fire kit and wool blanket for a total of just under 200 dollars. That's just way to expensive for what it is. If you have money to burn it looks like it will work.
Great review my friend. I like the set up. It is very compact. Thank you for sharing. Be safe out there.
🤗
I have a military style rain poncho that would squeeze into that setup, it's not a GI issue , it is lighter but still nice, comes in its own pac
Fantastic piece of kit!
I like the Pathfinder kit better in about a dozen ways, including the fact that I can carry both a wood burning stove, and an alcohol stove, inside the kit. Having used the Pathfinder kits, both canteen and bottle, there's just nothing here that would begin to make me want this. To me, at least, both Pathfinder kits have a huge number of advantages over this kit.
+James Ritchie you can put the pathfinder kit in this carrier genius. LISTEN TO THE VIDEO AND I STATE THAT
The only thing i would add to the kit you have already is medical, fishing and more fire capabilities. Great set up and design. Thanks for the video.
At $110 um no, I bought a whole military surplus kit with a canteen cover/dump pouch, 1 qt canteen, cup, cup stove, and the cup lid. All for $30 I find it a much better deal and I can customize it to whatever I need it for and I won't be afraid to use it as I would for this kit that's a total of $200. Just my 2 cents
Hard to argue with THAT!
Years ago, I added clip on strap to a GI canteen pouch so I could throw it over a shoulder. I then added a GI canteen cup to a non GI thermos canteen. Great to take out with hot coffee or tea. I make this point to illustrate that mission dictates equipment, not gear. I have also built a old GI SS canteen and cup, then made a cup top and added a spork, fire kit, and some water pure tabs to a newer model canteen pouch for normal use with any kit (as an addition to a Camelback). BSS, in your front pouch, I did not see the smaller Sawyer water filter and squeeze pouch (disclosure: don't recall when they came out to apply to the video. If so, this would be a fine water system suggestion). I like your videos and subject matter. Thanks. Semper fi
Awesome piece of kit. Wish I had the money to pick it up
+TheTranq yeah, loved it until i saw the price...smh
That would be cool for a day hike! Sweet!
I have an old school military canteen pouch but I don't use it for a canteen, I use it for a little kit, but besides putting the canteen in it, I can't do much else with it, like carry some small items. I really dig this kit and will probably have to upgrade! Thanks for sharing!
5 Stars for centerline's "Mother" canteen kit, and excellent presentation.
Awesome piece of kit. Thanks for the vid.
Nice kit. Thanks for all your good vids.
Firebox nano fits perfectly in the lid pouch for a wood burning stove!
Very nice kit. I agree with you about needing to carry the stove
On my short list for new gear. Great concept for light and ready kit.
I have been looking for a canteen carrier like this for a long time.....but the price is higher than I can personally justify.
When I can't find the exact type of gear I want I just design and make my own!
MCC + strap wrap costed me as much as canteen itself, but definitely worth it. A great piece of gear. Probably the best canteen carrier I've seen so far. Has a room for improvements though.
Also four months is a very long time, so think twice about that color or any other options you want, cause you gonna wait 4 more in case for some reason you gonna need to order another one.
awesome kit! TY For sharing. Man those birds wanted "in" on your video lol Great review per usual ;)
OMG I love it :)
Woah survival lily follows bss? I just found and subbed to you yesterday!:)
+Survival Lilly it is awesome.
Oddly enough, I thought of you and was going to mention it to you.
omg well if Lilly likes it...!
There are a lot of factors in survival.
One place I discovered that successfully combines these is the Survivor Crusher System
(check it out on google) without a doubt the most useful survival website that I have ever seen.
look at the awesome free video.
That's an awesome piece of gear!
Just a lil too pricey for me tho...
great piece of kit, a little out of my price range though. maybe one day I can change up my system and try this out. thanks for sharing this
Quit whining an complaining if u don’t want it don’t buy it , it’s a quality kit
Good chance the Emberlit fireant will fit that sleeve in the main compartment it's 3"x5". Great video. God bless you.
From what you shown. I like the kit too.
The verdict is in, looks like an awesome product but way too expensive!
The Firebox nano will fit perfectly in the pocket. The trangia burner fits in the side pocket.
Great piece of gear, thanks for the video.
Doesn't come with a stove? Still checking these types of canteen kits out but think Pathfinder kit's got me sold.
Every time I discover something new and awesome you've already done a review hahaha. Great minds, I guess.....
Great kit, I love mine too.
Do not let that canteen freeze, the seem will split. It is waranteed, but I found out the hardway
get the military stove that fits right over the cup, you can burn natural materials or fuel gel or tabs. Throw in space blanket, the little fold up ponchos, a couple packs of cup of soup mix, tea, purification tabs
Looks great, thanks for sharing!
Looks like a great piece of gear!
The only thing i would replace is the chem-light with a krill light . I’ve recently converted a USB carcharger (or whatever it’s called) to be directly connected to the carbattery . So even after an EMP i should be able to recharge my batteries . And yes i have a faraday cage for my electronic “must” haves , like my red cross cellphone just in case part of a network survived . 3,4 or 5G would be out but a basic network might still function plus my phone runs AA batteries . And my waka-waka solar light/charger is holding up pretty good so i have two spares . BTW those Jordan blade you love so much come from my old home- town .
Great video on this pouch. Thanks.
An altoids tin type stove should fit, or maybe an esbit stove, in that inside pocket. Either would fit in the front pocket. Just a couple ideas. Cool piece of gear, thanks for sharing.
I'm getting one...thanks dude. I appreciate your videos.
That bird is not Nut🔫, they are Beautiful....bless from Haven.
I think an Emberlit fire ant stove would fit perfectly in that back sleeve
I realy like fire box nano with the x case.
Nice And I Like To Buy Three Canteen Kits.
Wow, good video! Thankyou
I don't really understand why everyone on here needs to post a comment about how cool this piece of gear is, but how it's not worth $100... If you don't want to buy it, then don't buy it, but don't try and sway other people away from purchasing it. I can speak from experience, that this is by far one of the coolest pieces of gear I have. And I not only use it in the woods as a minimalist day hiking kit, but also as part of my EDC kit. I can also speak from experience when I say that this is ridiculously better then the cheap Condor bottle holder that comes with the Pathfinder bottle kit. I destroyed that thing after one hunting season and a week-long backpacking trip.
How is this canteen cover relevant to a backpack? Also, if you have a ton of packs (as I do) this is something different and unique in and of itself.
Well I'll take a quality piece of gear that's made in the USA, even if it cost a little more, over some POS made in China.
chris mclaughlin not an argument.
@TheLawDemon Wow, I haven't seen such a nonsensical, fallacy ridden comment in a long time.
bad ass kit bro
GREAT REVIEW!. Answered all my questions :)..Thanks again!
Awesome! Nice kit and vid!
Nice canteen carrier with some room for extra's.
Very good. Thank you very much
Bad @$$ canteen kit.....love it.
Enjoyed the review. Be blessed
Fire kitt
look in the pathfinder store i think they do have the stove for the canteen kit
I like it. I could easily see me carrying my esbit stove in there too.
That's a nice pouch that would make a good water/fire/essentials kit. Looks like a Firebox Nano would fit good in that pocket. I don't see on those sites, what kind of material is it made of and is it waterproof? Thanks for sharing.
A Firebox Nano stove would be a cool piece to carry in that case :D
Great review. Keep up the good work.
mine us in the mail.. perfect for day hikes and snap it on my bag for big hikes for water and snacks.. got the coyote model..
Everybody complaining about the price and I'm over here like "how did he get the hand made gear price down to 100$?
"
Check out the Bushcraft Essentials pocket stove for the sleeve in the back.
+Josh Edwards The Emberlit Fire Ant or Firebox Stoves Nano would probably fit as well. I'd have to have the pouch in hand to take measurements of the pocket to be sure, though.
Them red shoulders though ;P always love hearing hawks
I just clicked the link and it says it doesn't exist anymore! :(
Nice video, thanks!
Look at the Fire Box Stoves!
You might look at the titanium emberlit stove to see if it would fit in the pocket.
For a stove consider the Vargo Titanium Hexagonal.
Sweet kit and review brother! Bird attack! LOL
GREAT KIT! A water purifier and a big plastic might be nice.
The water capacity is not large enough. I would have to carry water some where on me ,so that makes the mother very restrictive.
A canteen is not intended to carry large quantities of water. Canteens are for water that can be stored in a convenient location (like, on a belt) and/or water can be boiled inside of them to sterilize the water or to use in freeze-dried meals. For carrying larger quantities of water, a bladder/camelback/collapsible bottle is usually preferable; but, the best option for large volume of water is usually a filter.
VG - thx - thumbed it up!
Emberlit fireant stove fits jn the pocket with the lid
u should keep a water filter in frount fire kit on one side to boil the water and something else on the other side like first aid or something
