There are guides to get the Darkmoon Fair Cannon, but the simple plan is to use its power store ability to save up a Spring power, then go back and restart the race. You'll keep the spring in your inventory and by abandoning and reaccepting the quest you can begin the race by using the Spring power node to get up the cliff, then using the stored one to get to the top. After that it's a very straight forward process, so good luck to anyone looking for it. It's really useful with a glider in the early stages of an xpac when flying isn't available.

The crab shank can be used by any class. Anytime I see a hunter with a crab, he gets the shank.
