I suggest that you use Color Pencils ✏️, Crayons 🖍️. Pens 🖊️. And for some extra detail Posca markers I have them they are so fun to use and enjoyable.❤
The crayola stuff is good if you can find it. Their colored pencils are kinda ok. I'm wanting to try my hand at acrylic painting. They have tons of paint.
Crayola is the best when it comes to budget supplies. Except I like Prang watercolors even more. Everything's a personal preference though! I was never naturally gifted at painting, but I've started doing acrylics and they're really fun and really forgiving! If you make a mistake, you just let it dry and paint over it. 🤣 Acrylics are so cheap though. You're right, Dollar Tree has a lot, but Walmart even more. My local Walmart sells them for 50-60 cents for a good sized small bottle!

Dollar tree is good for art stuff and I like the jot brush pens and zebra has colored lead pencils
