Has the world been asleep? Talking about "escalation" is downright insulting to Ukrainian efforts to DEFEND themselves against the muscovites. Is supplying arms to Ukraini to DEFEND THEMSELVES really an escalation? I wish the "genius" who came out with this escalation NONSENSE would explain "how to win a war without armaments" !!!!

Agreed. The only people escalating are the Russians. This war can end tomorrow if Russia leaves Ukraine, proving that Russia and Russia alone are the ones that continue to escalate things.

The only thing to negotiate is how much Ruzzian territory has to be given up to create a buffer state between it and all other countries in danger of being repeatedly attacked and invaded by Ruzzia. No-oneis safe, until Ruzzia is disarmed and starts to pay reparations. No clear-thinking person would suggest that any negotiations would involve "rewarding "Ruzzia for invading a peaceful country, by making a peaceful country give up some of its territory to Ruzzia. A preposterous idea., and would make a jopke of interbatioonally recognized borders and the countries which created the idea of order.

There is no rationale behind "buffer space." This is a made up requirement by Putin. There is no "buffer" between Finland and Russia. There is no buffer between Norway and Russia. There is no buffer between Latvia and Russia. There is no buffer between Lithuania and Russia. Why would there be a buffer between Ukraine and Russia???? This is just a demand by Putin to be able to keep Ukraine territory. The West must stop talking and grow some backbone - Putin only respects power. Slava Ukraini!

Let’s stop using the word ‘escalation’ and call it what it is, desperation. Why is it that ‘escalation’ is only ever employed towards help coming from the nations that are trying to help a country defend itself and not against the one that’s doing the invading?
Ukraine can’t escalate anything. All they can do is keep fighting for what’s theirs and it is Russia that is escalating the conflict through their refusal to withdraw.

Just bizarre that this red line must never be crossed: Blaming Russia for its primary role in the Oct 7/2023 Hamas attack on Israel.
Proof? Numerous trips of Hamas leaders to Russia in the months leading up to the attack, Wagner & Redut PMC's training Hamas fighters, at least one Russian-speaking commander on the ground helping carry out the attack, primarily late model Western military weapons used for the attack which Hamas is unlikely to have been unable to obtain on its own & the cherry on top: committing the attack on Vladimir Putin's birthday, Oct 7.
So far I've heard exactly one Western reporter blame Russia for the attack and one Israeli politician publicly blame Russia for the attack, in no uncertain terms & he did it within 2 weeks of the attack. Obviously, Israel knows what's going on and also the US, but acknowledging Russian responsibility would require action against Russia.
The whole point of the attack was to distract World attention & Western resources from helping Ukraine to helping Israel. The attack succeeded spectacularly on both counts. I also suspect all the Hamas protests in Western countries that sprung up after the attack & continue to this day are primarily organized & funded by Russia.
It's one of the biggest stories of our time but it'll probably never be acknowledged until Russia collapses.

Your absolutely correct and there are also 2 more reasons for the Israel invasion. Knowing it would rise tensions and barriers in the US and the re--election of President Biden. One of the main objectives of this conflict was to get President Trump elected, with the claims he is the anti war president!! This is a war that brings with it a flurry of outrage and emotion and division on both sides of those American peoples of these descents, and the US students and other large protests were the results. It made people think that Israel invasion was far more devastating than what was going on in Ukraine as well. These types of divisions were used to target those voters in the American elections all from Elon's flurry of many media sources political ads targeting these particular groups telling the other that was being supported by Biden and Harris. This is the same types of propaganda Russia used to start the war in Syria with propaganda and it was the test run for the US disinformation campaign on America's people. I believe America is destined for civil war under Trump with Elon and Rupert Murdoch running the largest media outlets to run Russia's disinformation campaign on the American people. Elon has used his platform of hate on the UK in recent days to instigate mass race riots, and he will likely do the same in the US and the UK was just a test run as well!!! Rupert Murdoch was behind Brexit to weaken the European union divided it is easier to topple than as a collective force!!!

Thank-you! I just made a similar comment before I got down far enough to see yours. People who trust trump to do anything against Putin are delusional, or in a cult. Take your pick. I'm wondering what the at least seven private phone conversations trump had with Putin this past summer are all about. I have never heard of any president or member of the government talking to a foreign adversarial leader with no recording, no one else listening, no report of the calls. After the first call, it should have been brought to our government's attention, especially since Putin is actively attacking a sovereign country that we, with our allies, are helping to protect themselves. Weird sentence structure; I hope my point is clear. I'm very short on sleep. 🌝

_"Great to see a diplomat sound so fierce and belligerent while talking about the necessity of taking action against the West's enemies."_
I _would_ say let's rather work towards establishing a new relationship with post-Putin Russia, but the possiblity of that would depend heavily on what happens with the various Russian oligarchs - and that brings us to how things are going to develop with western oligarchs and capitalism... We could probably get a fairly "stable" situation with some oligarch-friendly government getting re-established in Russia, but for how long? How long would _that_ last, considering how badly exactly that kind of situation is starting to play out in the USA right now, and sooner or later possibly in the rest of the capitalist world as well?
But an arms race is always _at best_ a very short-term band-aid, not even a short-term solution.

But I do not view it as being antisemitic to critique Israel's extraordinarily indiscriminate bombing of the land and civilians. No matter how one spins it, dropping 2,000 pound JDAMs on to highrise buildings, hospitals, schools, declared 'safe zones', blocking entry of food, tents, medicine and medical supplies, flattening thousands of city blocks in one of THE most densely populated areas of the world, is grossly indiscriminate. The UN's actions may be wrong. But they're NOT antisemitic. It's a reaction to Netanyahu's constant dismissal of ALL criticism.

I agree about the deterrence, but I deplore this guy's moral judgment.
Israël's actions are just not proportionate. He should support the ICC instead of calling it a joke.
If people take the ICC seriously, the ICC becomes a deterrent factor.
He also seems very oblivious of the institutional decay of his own country.
Those things matter as much as (if not more than) warships and rules of engagement.

Putin thinks he can handle Trump.
Putin allowed the photos of Mrs Trump’s modelling years be shown on Russian TV with the presenter smirking!
It was a warning and threat to Trump on what he can do re Trump himself. Although During this last campaigning Trump’s sense of decorum. Has dropped, so he may well take pride in any dirt they have on him.

No, we have allowed millions of people who hate us to come here, and we have supported them and done down our native peoples. Without a massive action to overcome this, we will be minorities in our own countries within a few decades. Watch and learn never to repeat this awful mistake.
