People seem to be projecting properties onto Trump that simply aren’t evidenced by his history as president. The fact is that Trump loves Putin. If you have a selective memory, you will soon see.
Thank-you! I just made a similar comment before I got down far enough to see yours. People who trust trump to do anything against Putin are delusional, or in a cult. Take your pick. I'm wondering what the at least seven private phone conversations trump had with Putin this past summer are all about. I have never heard of any president or member of the government talking to a foreign adversarial leader with no recording, no one else listening, no report of the calls. After the first call, it should have been brought to our government's attention, especially since Putin is actively attacking a sovereign country that we, with our allies, are helping to protect themselves. Weird sentence structure; I hope my point is clear. I'm very short on sleep. 🌝
_"Great to see a diplomat sound so fierce and belligerent while talking about the necessity of taking action against the West's enemies."_ I _would_ say let's rather work towards establishing a new relationship with post-Putin Russia, but the possiblity of that would depend heavily on what happens with the various Russian oligarchs - and that brings us to how things are going to develop with western oligarchs and capitalism... We could probably get a fairly "stable" situation with some oligarch-friendly government getting re-established in Russia, but for how long? How long would _that_ last, considering how badly exactly that kind of situation is starting to play out in the USA right now, and sooner or later possibly in the rest of the capitalist world as well? But an arms race is always _at best_ a very short-term band-aid, not even a short-term solution.

Despite disagreement with Mr Vladimir Putin. Not all of us wants to think about further continuing leaving life past certain point. I believe some of us including Mr Vladimir Putin is thinking about life after the life and the greatness that some of us can leave behind this physical life.
I respect ambassador Wallace's perspective. He has great knowledge and provides very candid, well reasoned perspectives. But I do not view it as being antisemitic to critique Israel's extraordinarily indiscriminate bombing of the land and civilians. No matter how one spins it, dropping 2,000 pound JDAMs on to highrise buildings, hospitals, schools, declared 'safe zones', blocking entry of food, tents, medicine and medical supplies, flattening thousands of city blocks in one of THE most densely populated areas of the world, is grossly indiscriminate. The UN's actions may be wrong. But they're NOT antisemitic. It's a reaction to Netanyahu's constant dismissal of ALL criticism.
Negotiations are always the first step. You can't justify an escalation to the public unless negotiations have first failed. It's just part of the process.

Those things matter as much as (if not more than) warships and rules of engagement.

This is the same types of propaganda Russia used to start the war in Syria with propaganda and it was the test run for the US disinformation campaign on America's people. I believe America is destined for civil war under Trump with Elon and Rupert Murdoch running the largest media outlets to run Russia's disinformation campaign on the American people. Elon has used his platform of hate on the UK in recent days to instigate mass race riots, and he will likely do the same in the US and the UK was just a test run as well!!! Rupert Murdoch was behind Brexit to weaken the European union divided it is easier to topple than as a collective force!!!
I thought that straight away - it's a huge anti-west win for Putin with the west pro Hamas celebrations - and possible a LOT of previous Harris voters stayed away because of that distortion (regardless of Netanyahu's faults)
I also think there is more popular opposition, Iran for sure, but even in Russia AND Palestine, anti Hamas...!
Spot on 👍
Thank you ! Thought I was the only one seeing that. I bring it up and people look at me like I’m a crazy conspiracy guy. These guys are missing that Trump is a wanna be dictator. Probably going to achieve it. I also see that the Ukraine war is Trumps doing. If he hadn’t withheld weapons trying to blackmail them for dirt on Biden, Putin would never have attacked.
No tears will be shed when Vladimir Putin meets his demise!
Same for Trump! This is why a 78 year old man was desperate to get back in office, at ALL cost!

This country is damned if we do and damned if we don't. The last time we seriously persisted in an isolationist policy, we found out the hard way that sticking our heads in the sand was a bad idea. We found out the had way on December 7th 1941.
To put the criticism on Netanyahu as anti Semitism is actually positive discrimination of Israel and Jews. This man lost all his credibility in the second part of the interview.
NETANYAHU IS NOT AN ISRAELI, BUTVA ZIONIST.
100%
No he didn't he hasn't been brainwashed by Islam like the rest of you.

He lost credibility when he claimed that Donald was scaring Russia. Putin is scared because Biden is allowing Ukraine to use ATACMs.
5:18 “American strength is coming back under President Trump.”
I couldn’t disagree more. Trump would do anything for Putin. He will hand Ukraine to Putin on a silver platter, putting his thumb on the scale to disadvantage Ukraine and advantage Putin.
People seem to be projecting properties onto Trump that simply aren’t evidenced by his history as president. The fact is that Trump loves Putin. If you have a selective memory, you will soon see.
THiS!
Great interview, so true that diplomacy alone is not a deterrent.
Funny how they missed GOP appeasement and waffling. Nobody, not even trump, knows what he's going to do. He'll make it up when he needs to
What diplomacy?
True diplomacy comes from a position of strength, hence the term gunboat diplomacy.
Great to see a diplomat sound so fierce and belligerent while talking about the necessity of taking action against the West's enemies.
We would if we could. Reality is, we’ve already lost the Cold War
_"Great to see a diplomat sound so fierce and belligerent while talking about the necessity of taking action against the West's enemies."_
I _would_ say let's rather work towards establishing a new relationship with post-Putin Russia, but the possiblity of that would depend heavily on what happens with the various Russian oligarchs - and that brings us to how things are going to develop with western oligarchs and capitalism...
I hope Putin's office has an attached bathroom, otherwise that office is going to get very messy very quick.
No need to negotiate, Russia leaves UK, was ends and yes Putin's time on this earth will be ending soon at the hands of his own people.
These people are so deluded it hurts to listen. The gentleman keeps implying that with Trump American deterrence will be restored, but that begs the simple question: why then did Russia want Trump so much back in office? ..what an expert!

I do not share the notion that criticism of Israel is anti semitic.
Yeah a disgusting concept that you can scream anti Semitism and be immune to international law. Sorry but that is overplayed now and frankly dangerous to non Israeli Jewish people who have nothing to do with Israel but are put in danger with rhetoric from Israel.
I do not see deterrence in Trump's stance of telegraphing ending the war at any cost in 24 hours.
The paradox now for USA / Europe is, at this stage of the war Russian economy has started an irreversible process of "slowly cooking" itself and its heading into bankruptcy. So, all bets are onto Ukraine holding their lines as much time as it can. And seen what Ukraine Army can withstand, we can be sure Russian Economy will collapse sooner than Ukraine lines of defense.
This situation is reminiscent of WWI & WWII where the west was asleep & sleep walked into war.
I have thought about that as well. I certainly hope and pray that doesn't happen.

One of his hard to forget quotes but it seems to have played out a lot in history.
Everything seems worse for him. Massive (long-term) economic impact, unconscionable loss of life (possibly a low-level concern), increase in NATO countries directly bordering Russia.. It now seems impossible for him to "win" on his originally stated terms, although you can always propaganda a victory, regardless of outcome. That's not just a Russian thing, of course. 👩🏽🦯💭🕺🏻
I would suggest that seeds of American Deterrence and the politicization of foreign policy were planted during first trump.
