THANK YOU FOR ACTUALLY WRITING A SAMPLE INSTEAD OF JUST STUPID SQUIGGLE LINES OR NOT HAVING ANY WRITING EXAMPLES AT ALL!!! That part was extremely helpful.
Provided both use the same refill (and yes, that is possible): For quick everyday use the Jotter. It looks better and is lighter while still being sturdy. For heavy use and a lot of writing...out of those two the F-701 wins.
The Jotter is classier & I also love the diverse selection of cartridges. I personally like extra bold refills so I people think I'm a child or something.
So true the Jotter is a wonderful pen. I collect these pens. Yes I do like the Zebra. But when I am out and about and someone is looking at pens I will let them test mine.
The Jotter is the winner here for me at least. I have both the pens with me and big difference with the Jotter is that the standard Parker M refill is better, darker ink and has less skips as compared to the Zebra, the other big difference for me is that I can get a grip closer to the writing surface with the Jotter when compared to the Zebra and here in Mumbai, India the Parker refills are easier to source than the Zebra.
The stainless steel Parker Jotter with a fine point blue Fisher space pen cartridge. Can't be better. I do wish that Parker pens were still made in the USA.
Just bought 3 of the Parker Jotters only yesterday from Amazon. 2 for presents and the other for myself. I never knew anything about the Zebra lens though?? Great video! Stay safe!
I just got 3 F701s the other day and REALLY like the feel of the pen as well as how it looks though down the road I'll probably look for a little better cartridge, as some say the Space Pen ones are a good choice and your gel recommendation is also up for consideration. Thanks Much for the Review!
It’s the Parker Jotter Stainless Steel for me. It really is a sleek and professional looking pen. I actually have it on rotation with my Machine Era Original Brass Pen. The Parker Jotter is a great juxtaposition to the other hefty and rugged pen that I have.
The parker jotters used to be all steel. The ones that they sell now the part thr bottom of the pen screws into is actaully plastic. I realise that when it came out one day. I decided to give the 701 atry and so far so good.
Until the Zebra F701 goes gel, it is not fun to write with. It is nicer in feel and heft to me personally. But it definitely has been missing a gel capability which is why I like the Parker series.
I accidentally broke 2 Jotter barrels dropping, stepping on the pen and once rolling over it with a chair. Never ever going to happen with 701. It’s a tank, great pocket clip, and satisfying clicks, if maybe a bit less so than the Jotter, it’s quieter in meetings.
I carried a jotter before you were born. Ball point pens were almost mandatory for multiple copies, but the line quality of any I've used doesn't look as good as it flexible nib fountain pen. For an EDC, a friend gave me Monteverde TOOL, I have since bought the fountain pen version.
I wanted to give the Jotter a chance but for some reason it just stops writing for me. BUT, when someone right handed uses it, it starts writing again. 🙄 Didn't have issue with the Zebra.
Location and build (in the past). I think the F-xMD was sold in Europe and had an all-metal build. The F-701 is sold primarily in the Americas/Asia and used to have a plastic collar instead of a metal one. But both pen models are basically identical now.
The Zebra for me handsdown feels so much more solid ....... only downside to it is it's ink isn't that great but you could easily use other pen refills with it ... with little mods.
I’ve had a fisher space pen for a long time. In recent months I’ve gotten into collecting pens. I now have some from Karas Kustoms, Retro 51, And Urban Survival. I figured if I was going to have a pen collection how could I not have either of these so I ordered both.
You can fit a fisher space pen refill into a Zebra F-701 without too much trouble(some modification required) and it comes with an adapter for Parker style pens so it should fit the jotter.
Despite the overall difference between them, the fact is that if you have a Parker pen you will instantly cause jealousy among others. I learned that in high school when it became apparent to me that most would want to be my friend just to get my Parker pens off me....and they did. Thanks to the pandemic of 2020 I discovered Amazon and Ebay and now have almost 340 various Parker models and now I don't care about the ones I lost back then cause I've gained most of them back and a lot more. If you think you have terrible handwriting then head over to Unsharpen and you'll love your own writing.
I agree that the Jotter wins for the smoothness of the writing, although I don’t think something being industrial makes it not EDC worthy. Plenty of items people carry for EDC are industrial in nature.
I personally wouldn’t compare the Jotter with that pen. There are many other more qualified pens for that comparison. Like fine writing line from Faber Castle or Diplomat pens. Japanese pens are very good, just but like Japanese cars, Japanese pens have no soul and that is where the problem is.
That’s an interesting insight, thank you. I compared these two because they are some of the most common and widely used EDC pens that I’ve seen, but I’ll have to look into some of those other options. Thanks for watching!

ZEBRA with a space pen refill for the win!
The Jotter is classier & I also love the diverse selection of cartridges. I personally like extra bold refills so I people think I'm a child or something.
Also, +1 for being a lefty :D

I agree! The refill really is the downfall of the zebra for me.
Ehm, If you remove the twist cap of a G2 it fits the zebra,?
The stainless steel Parker Jotter with a fine point blue Fisher space pen cartridge. Can't be better. I do wish that Parker pens were still made in the USA.
Imma add that to my list of things to try! Thanks for watching
But at least the Jotter is Made in France and not China
Love the Jotter with the gel refill.
Which gel refill are you using? I’d definitely be down to try it. Thanks for watching!
Parker black medium. Very smooth and long lasting.
The Zebra is more for the construction company owner. The Parker is for the architect.
Just bought 3 of the Parker Jotters only yesterday from Amazon. 2 for presents and the other for myself. I never knew anything about the Zebra lens though?? Great video! Stay safe!

Agreed, I like the feel of the Parker much more!

While I like the writing consistency of my Jotter better, I agree that the 701 is an absolute tank! Build quality is great.

Good video I just stated my career and wanted something cool to write with do i went the zebra 701 as I like the more industrial look
I think Zebra Filare(available in Japan) is the true competitor of Parker Jotter.
As a metal pen, the Zebra is cooler, but the fact that it uses a unique nib makes it less appealing.
I was hoping to hear a comparison of the refills that they are compatible with.
I have Montblanc taste on a Parker budget 😁😭
I wanted to give the Jotter a chance but for some reason it just stops writing for me. BUT, when someone right handed uses it, it starts writing again. 🙄 Didn't have issue with the Zebra.
I have been using the jotters since mid 70's
I really think it Zebra w Mont Blanc filler for the win?
I love Jotter. It's easy to find good quality g2 gel refills.
The 701 can take G2 refills pretty easily. Though not all will work
Lol. What a coincidence. I have a Parker jotter and I wanted a different pen so I get the zebra. Coincidentally. Now seeing this video months after.
zebra have my vote this round u got more control while writing with it
Jotter 👍👍👍
It would be nice if it add on a laser pointer and touch screen stylus
New parker jotter xls are out just ordered the all black one!
I’ll definitely have to check it out!
@@fayzereviews Amazon or pen boutique!
Parker had been in market longer and good reputation alresdy. I love Parker
between the Fxmd and F701 is there any difference?

Yeah I love the feel but the ink leaves me wanting for sure.

Awesome! I have a space pen as well and love it. I think my Jotter is still my favorite though.
You can fit a fisher space pen refill into a Zebra F-701 without too much trouble(some modification required) and it comes with an adapter for Parker style pens so it should fit the jotter.
the zebra has a plastic tube inside, thats where the "nose" part screws
Jotter all the way.
Agree! The more I use it, the more I like the Jotter
Sometimes I am in the mood for a lighter pen, sometimes I am in the mood for a heavier pen, that’s why I have many pens.😊😊😊
What a coincidence I also have the zebra
for playing aeronautical engineer, zebra is bad, i know.
Jotter for everyday carry . Zebra for when you wan'na open a can of Hawian Punch .
😂
Parker jotter is best pen for edc
the zebra has a plastic tube inside, thats where the "nose" screws.....

These pens really don't write that well though although idk maybe I got a bad batch?
It’s possible! I think the Jotter writes really well - the Zebra is a little more finicky. Thanks for checking out the channel!
Go lefty.
Jotter for the job. Ditch the other goodbyes.
The Zebra F-701 is nice but its clip is the so cheap looking compared to the Parker.
Instead of writing Jordan, write Parker with the Parker and Zebra with the Zebra so so recognize the difference
100% the jotter wins. Zebra looks more industrial and not really edc.
I agree that the Jotter wins for the smoothness of the writing, although I don’t think something being industrial makes it not EDC worthy. Plenty of items people carry for EDC are industrial in nature.
Industrial = edc
Melvin Can not really😂
@@acmramon really? 🤣🤣

Lol it's a thing, things don't have a soul, but I love Japanese pens like Zebra and pentel, and I grew up loving Parker pens.
Although its an old comment, but I think you have not really used true Japanese pens, try some fountain pens from Japan and feel the difference.
So the nissan -Z- cars have no soul ?
