Commendable effort but I have many questions for many inaccuracies but the one that stands out the most to me is how the Yoruba have this massive empire at 3:33. They are in places where they historically never existed. Then Oyo Empire (The Yoruba's largest state) is over in Ghana for some reason as well when it should have been in Eastern Nigeria and Benin. Ghana would have been predominantly Akan.
@@fatherdiobrando1281 Yes I know what Yorubaland is. My point is that it's territorial extent in this video is incorrect. The Yoruba have historically never been in those places. They would have been in Western Nigeria, Benin, and Togo.
I think it also may have helped if you distinguished between tribes/ethnic groups and centralized states/kingdoms. For example some mappers will show stateless peoples in italics and no borders while the centralized states will be in normal fonts with hard borders.
This is amazing! Thank you for including non-centralized people groups! This shows clearly how populated Africa was even without states. But why is Zimbabwe and nearby states not colored and listed as distinct nations?
@@eren.mapping Hey i have a question, what is that, if i am not reading it wrong, nyani civilization in africa? i'm making a map in a game set in 1748 and i can't find what it was

I have to say it since nobody else did. It should be Every "Year" not "Years." I notice you made the same mistake on all of your videos. Also I'm wondering why you have "Nok" appearing in the 11th century. Nok dates back to 2000 BC and it was an ancient civilization but not much is known about it so we don't really know if it was a kingdom or empire. Like the Indus Valley civilization for example.
Some wrong facts first of all fezzan They had banu khattab state Khormans Awlad Muhammad kel ajjer Those were stated that i think you should mantion and how about make a fezzan mapping video
Nice effort but you go the position of Nri completely wrong, didn't include Ife and Igodimogo(early Bini) at the right time and also go the position of Takrur completely wrong. Kanem also never extended south of the Chad while Bornu only really vassalzied that region. I really don't get what source would have Yoruba peoples spread from Ivory coast to Niger and at this point I am more concerned about seeing the source that says that and rechecking somethings. Anyways, that's all I know and care enough to point out in detail.
