It's really unfortunate how strongly people seem to disagree with the OP. I certainly think there are multiple interpretations here (and none are really more right), but it reveals a lot that people so strongly push for the negative. Most people aren't indifferent out of malice or even selfishness but anxiety of getting it wrong. I've definitely been in similar situations myself where I want to help but I'm not a quick thinker (and really an over thinker) and often wait too long before acting and the moment passes. There's also an increased fear in involving oneself in others lives. As social media and public news outlets puts more of our lives out there we become more fearful in connecting with others in that we could make mistakes and our mistakes can lead to negative outcomes. There are plenty of cases out there of people holding elevator doors for women or the elderly or people disabilities and getting told off for assuming they needed help in the first place. There are similar cases of adults helping children they don't know and being treated like criminals. These aren't the most common cases, but that's the problem with fear mongering and a world where negativity sells. I have social anxiety and yes this does make me feel anxious but, if he were to pull his arm away from the lady and not help her, that would make me feel more anxious then helping the lady even if its forced on you. Not helping the lady makes you look like a dick and it would make me atleast, more anxious then not helping her and its like not helping her or helping her either way i would feel anxious but just more anxious towards not helping the lady.

1:23 the Little smile 😊
1:12 Look at how the part where he takes his hand out of his pocket for the first time is emphasized. It's amazing!
It's a way to show that he alone, with his actions has the ability to change the outcome of a situation and improve the lives of others, a beautiful cartoon
My man was on a whole new level of minding his own business
What if the guy at the end was a genuine dude who just had his hands in his pockets while waiting
Underrated comment lol
I mean yeah he probably put them there to rest his arms
He was just hiding his power level
Then they would have less of a problem with helping a blind man crossing the road than an “indifferent” person. Win-win
@@MrPopoy67 Umm... No. We all know he has to wear a black leather jacket with fur on the hood, a black pants, somewhat okay pair of shoes, a semi-long hairstyle that ranges from black to silver, and a katana.
The grandma looks like Mama Coco from the movie "Coco"😂
I love how the footsteps match the music as he's walking the grandma. Very well done and great message.
I think it actually matches both of their steps! The louder sounds match the old lady's, while the deeper ones match the dude's.
Actually it wasn't music, it was sound for their footsteps...observe it once again... you'll notice even the grandma's stick has a sound, quite similar to grandma's footsteps but a bit less loud
Musician here. That is a type of film scoring, specifically it's called an underscore. When the music accompanies specific actions like character movement or dialogue. Something I really miss about older animations. It's not really popular anymore sadly. There's themes and stuff still but I liked it in old cartoons when someone was trying to be sneaky and you could hear the plucking of strings indicated them tip toeing around.

The cartoon manifestation of social anxiety everyone.
Ikr. Surprised I didn't saw more comments about that. The older woman grabbing his arm made my heart skyrocket.
I didn't feel or see anxiety in this
Big sad
This isn’t social anxiety kid this is called being a dick head
I didn't really take social anxiety from this tbh, I was thinking the guy was more apathetic. His outlook on life changed when he nearly died, and having the elderly lady be grateful added onto that.
Ig it's open to interpretation though.
I will say a stranger grabbing my arm would send me through the roof tho.
"A small appreciation is what we need" ❤️🙂
Damn wtf that grandma didn't even flinch when that car came towards her
She is old enough not to flinch.
Or her reaction time is so slow it will finally catch up with her next week.
That was the sweetest smile she had though.
She was knifing krauts in grimy Paris alleys during the war, before you were a dirty thought in your dad's head. She came to terms with her mortality when she realized her parents weren't coming back from that train ride, and embraced it when she felt an SS officer's skull give way to an entrenching shovel. And you think a car is going to make her flinch?

Yeah, I don't get it. There's a lot of short animated film on youtube that are nice, cute, generally have a good message... but there's always like ~15k downvotes :| why?
There’s no explanation... people probably just click on random videos and dislike them for absolutely no reasons cause they’re a bunch of wankers😅
You would be surprised how much the European American right wingers as well as indians hate anything middle eastern. And given there are a billion indians chances are some of them get around on RUclips disliking stuff out of spite...

All jokes aside, probably one of the most heart warming animations I have ever seen.
its great but one way it slightly could of been improved if we saw why he was so angry maybe he had a rough upbringing they can flashback to real fast for like 10 seconds showing his parents fighting so when the old lady rewards him it makes him feel good for once replacing that sad feeling he grew up with to be so sour and down on the world...just a tweak small suggestion...but that may ruin the pace
