I nearly turned the video off when he said that, LOL. but I know them, and they are cool! We hung out in San Francisco! They’re so cool, I hope they like me…
Slick watch, for sure. I was born and raised in Chicago, that rotor design got me pretty stoked. Not sure if I'm in love with "Oak&Oscar" as a brand name though. Sounds like a candle company or something.
Hey Glen! If you're still in Chicago we'd love to have you set up an appointment to visit the HQ and see the watches in the metal! As for our name, we don't make candles and aren't hipster baristas 😂 The name is very personal to me. Oak = my love of bourbon which is aged in oak barrels and Oscar = my dogs name, part of our profits go to a local dog shelter. I created Oak & Oscar to do something I loved and wanted the name to reflect that. I didn't want to name it after myself or some made-up corporate, jargon sounding, generic name. Hope that helps give some more background!
The White dial is pretty attractive but $2,150 is smoking crack level of prices. Astor + Banks are also out of Chicago and making incredible watches for half the price of this. American assembled.
If only going to focus on the price you will miss out on a lot of cool brands and experiences. Not saying price doesn't matter, but you have to look at the big picture many times.
I really dig the orange hands. If the word GMT or the barrel on the dial were also orange it would be perfect. Alas, near-perfect will have to suffice.
It seems like a decent watch but at least from only seeing a video on it somewhat overpriced. For over $2k there’s lots of options. I wonder how it compares to other similarly priced watches.
Cool watch. I should see Mark's at Average Bros video on it with the white dial. I imagine you'd like that more. The lume on that one is pretty unique. May not be as practical, but, very cool the way they did the lume on that white dial GMT.
Just when I thought that I had found all GMT watches with three simultaneous time zones. Those are actually rare and this one looks interesting but also very expensive after tax in Europe! At 2700€ Oak & Oscar are at Swiss and German price class and not far from Tudor and Grand Seiko.
“It’s a little bit higher priced, but… they have really nice packaging..” I darn near turned the video off… with these microbrand guys you’re buddy buddy with, the non-transparent infomercial is sorta getting outta hand.
Hey there! I can absolutely assure you that there's zero paid, buddy buddy, anything like that going on here. Rob literally borrowed this watch from someone who bought it directly from us. He's kindly asked us in the past to borrow watches to review and we've not been able to accomodate due to stock / supply issues. Rob took the initiative and made this happen without our help, assistance or promise of any compensation.
$2150 but “they have really nice packaging...” Well if they have really nice packaging the price is certainly justified. 😂😂😂

The magic of Oak and Oscar ownership starts on the 18th. Then things just get WILD.
so true,

Funny, I thought it was a name that sounds like luxury
Crown wobble is to watches as one handed opening is to laptops.
Thanks for sharing the Humboldt GMT Rob!

Could I just get the packaging for $2000.

Very nice looking piece. Lots of detail.
I'm simping over this watch
I like the Humboldt 12hr. Expensive for a micro brand
Over $2K for a caller GMT???

Ooh...thats a fun idea for a special edition...🧐🤔
