I want to ask how do you pack your bike and bags when you are at airport to get to the next country to travel around the world thanks. This is a really great video ❤
@@allroadsconsidered I think you are still light, the sweet spot, comfortable and light. And you have everything with you to stay away for months. nice to follow you
What tent are you using on your tour? How do you handle your clothing you take when your going thru different climates and temperature. Plus you have to keep your total wt (rider+bike+gear) less then the stated max weight limit on the bike. Wonder if this is due to the strength of the wheel set instead of the frameset.
Hi Boru love you videos. One questrion - at the top of your aero bars, what have you used to create the bridge across them? Struggling to find something that can replicate that, and I need more space up there for a phone mount and lighting. Many thanks
Thanks was looking forward to this! Would also love to know what you pack in terms of clothing since you often covered such diverse terrain in one trip. E.g. that purple jacket, shoes, how many bibs / layers
Interested in your comments regarding the Hunt wheels, I've had mine 3 years (approx 7k miles) and have had 3 sets of bearings replaced and the rear wheel re-spoked due to corrosion. Another great video update by the way.
Thank you 🙏 . Yeah I am always surprised when I hear this. I’ve of course replaced bearings on the rear (SON on the front so can’t) but aside from that it’s only the one spoke thats gone
Doesn't the rear suspension bring an additional risk of breakdown? What would you do in the middle of nowhere to fix it? It seems that a regular bike shop in a remote place wouldn't be able to fix it.
I’m not sure what would go wrong with it, apart from maybe the lockout feature getting loose? in which case the suspension would be on, but not hard to fix (hole in the frame underneath to tighten)
Yea, it either locks firm, then no biggie just ride it fixed. Or gets stuck in the flexy mode and then just ride with it on the whole time. Neither seems like a disaster.
I used to use a K Edge mount in between and I had the bars at just the right width to take off the wahoo. Now the mount is integrated into the Tailfin bar bag mount and it is a bit higher up, so not a problem to remove bike computer
The reality is ..front and rear large panniers are a hard sell. We immediately delete. Minimum bikepacking 2 bags only is an adventure. Handlebar, seat post period.
We're proud to have "made panniers cool again". Can't wait to see where you go next
love your videos as always. great so see you back again
Appreciate you! Thanks

Really nice light set-up!
Haha tell me about it. I’ve never actually weighed it, just going off estimates from flights and packing it into boxes. But it is not a hindrance

Great to see you back on the tube Boru. Hope you enjoyed your time in the US 🤙🏾
Cheers! Plan is to focus more on it this year so I should be around here a bit more often 🤘
@ hell yeah! Will have to get a proper ride with you when you come back to LA. I’ll bring the correct bike next time 😅

OOh looking at this bike for Badlands next... this year.

I found a bit of plastic that works. Night before I left I saw a bit off for it to fit, then attached it with electrical tape and zip ties

Quite superb....
What do you think of a belt drive with/without an internal gearing hub?
I’ve never used one myself, but would love to try. From what I’ve heard from people I’ve met, they are reliable
Interesting video! I wish that I had bumped into when you were in Japan. On average how many kms are your rear tires lasting?
I removed my son hubs a few years ago due to that reason of the possibility of them breaking
Yes. It is a huge convenience to always have lights available, but it is such a pain when the bearings go
@ yeah happen to a friend in austrilia while he toured there .. cost him over 1800$ hotels customs waiting wheel rebuild etc not worth it
I think you can only fit that much on the front and under the top tube cos you’re on a Size 56(?)! 😅

What are you mounting the bike computer to?
It is part of the Tailfin bar that the handlebar bag attaches to
Great video, thanks! Do you carry a laptop?
Yes I do!
@@allroadsconsidered Thanks! Which one? :)
Had the same type of cockpit and taking my bike computer off was difficult how did you mange this?

Were you the guy that slated the Hunt Wheels on a recent podcast ?
Definitely not me!
@allroadsconsidered apologies that was Jake Thorpe
