    It was like reading a good book, your imagination got to paint a picture without taking away from what you are reading (this case watching) because the main character is so gripping and unsurprisingly Jake acting is out of this world! You simply don’t realise your just watching a guy on the phone for two hours and that is down to Jakes phenomenal acting!

    You missed a very important part, he also calls his Partner at the end, and tells him to tell the truth , Joe wants to come clean, and his partner is very emotional realizing joe will not be seeing his daughter for many years ..The news reports then show the conviction for manslaughter .. Kind of important because his partner did not have to lie for him , Joe just told him "tell the truth, promise me" ..

    How Oliver was murderd is a lot darker than "he was stabbed" Remember the psychotic mother says "he was sick, and she needed to help him, he had snakes in him and she had to take them out" Thats why the cop that found him was screaming "OMG" and almost got sick. Because the "snakes" were his intestines. The mother ripped him open, and pulled his insides out. The first time I watched that scene, and heard her say "snakes" I knew immediately, ad visualized it right away. It made this movie so much darker, intense, and one crazy turn of events. The "snakes" was one thing, but it was the officers reaction that made it clear. Police see bullet wounds, and stab wounds.... but to make you almost puke and have to run out... you can imagine the scene he must have walked in on.

    I thought the movie was great, didn't know it was a remake. And as for the concept of only seeing Jake, that just added suspense. If they cut to scenes in the van or scenes with the girl on the phone it wouldn't have been nearly as effective. I will admit I didn't think his cough mattered at all, and it would have been nicer to see more than the call in the stall. But as for the concent itself, it was very exciting to me.

    Just to give a little insight it’s very emotional and physiological outlook i know someone very close to me a family member that is having a mental breakdown on a deeper feeling I felt this because this person I know use to be normal until she was diagnosed with depression and bipolar disorder and she became a completely different person at times it’s so sad because after the hospital she was not allowed to be alone with her kids so many of us tried to help but mental illness is a very sad condition she also tried to walk through traffic and was not herself we see her now and then and the sad part is the kids just think she has Covid that’s why she can’t be around or isint contacting them at their age it’s to early to tell them they went through a lot before we found out because we didn’t hear from them she stopped paying for their phones no internet nothing so we decided to go look for them to make sure everything was ok but when we got their the kids had no food they spent most of their time upstairs locked in their room it was so sad we saw her in a state where she was taking to herself and kept saying that she was dieng and kept referring herself as someone else she use to groom herself and was beautiful but that was the complete opposite and it was sad and scary we still have hope of her getting better but it’s been a while now and Emily reminds me of her because she is sweet but in her head are horrible thoughts so if you know anyone with a mental illness you will understand and be more engaged sorry for the spoiler but it’s a great movie not only on mental illness but also seems the protagonist is having depression and might also be going through a breakdown as she is so he connects with her she thought her baby was being hurt by snakes and he thought the guy he killed was hurting someone or he said he thinks so it’s like he saw himself as becoming like Emily

      @whoscooking6887 3 года назад +1

      Yes I agree I’m
      Also sad to say the person that’s close to me succeeded. In actually getting insured as she attempted to walk into traffic the first time it didn’t work she recently actually got hit by a car and injured herself it’s just sad because we all tried to help but I think this had a big message from mental illness people and his character was in going into that break stage as to Emily had already done it they both hurt people and he also didn’t know what really was going and walking her through hurting her husband because he thought he was helping but not really knowing the situation I think people that know people or have this condition can appreciate this movie more as to people that don’t really understand what causes a person to lose their sanity

      See I thought they were gonna play the trick that it’s all his mind. Like I thought the coughing and the ringing was maybe like a brain tumor he didn’t know he had and then we would find out in the end that it was just him hallucinating everything when in reality his health was failing. I do love how the movie went with this concept, but I thought that we would find out he had been hallucinating everything the whole time due to his health suffering.
