It’s very true that people assume ESTJ and ENTJ are similar and we are overwhelmingly in leadership in my field - but as an ENTJ, and maybe the only intuitive among my colleagues, I struggle in many ways to work alongside them.
I am very values oriented. Once a mission is in front of me, I apply values to it and the plan and strategy flow from there - I’m always seeking maximum impact. ESTJ are usually seeking smooth execution. They aren’t guided by a North Star or values, just the plan itself. Very often I’ve been in meetings with ESTJ’s who are wanting input to come up with a plan, but if you ask them about the goals/the point/the actual reason for doing, they get that blank stare thing going.
ESTJ doesn’t have Ni so they tend to want more buy-in, more social validation and consensus decision making than I do. ESTJ’s what to throw the virtual happy hours and do all the team building and those are lower priorities for me.
They also tend to micromanage their direct reports whereas I provide more coaching and less structure to mine.
Overall I think xST’s are more “company men” who respect compliance and collaboration and toe the line.
NT as a rational I am more purpose driven - I don’t respect compliance or procedure, as much as goal attainment and autonomy

ENTJ apply values at first place? No, you is not a ENTJ. Values is a Fi/Fe thing.

@@DiegoBRnah - I work in politics. Values are basically the business I’m in.

Very well said. I've explained it simply as: entj value goals over means, while estj value means over goals.
My (ENTJ) frustration when working for estj always centers around striving to execute a plan that will never get us to our goals. That pretty much sums up my life.

I'm an INTJ and my boyfriend is either ENTJ or ESTJ. Even after watching several videos, I always notice equal qualities of both in his behavior. He's not as interested in this as I am, so he hasn't taken any tests and probably won't. I'd sure like to know, tho, just for my own purposes.

    Hi
    Thank you for this video!
    I am a Heyoka INFJ.
I am a person that has done extremely well living with other people. I have actually lived other countries with all the personality types that would involve as well as cultural and age.
There is only one person I simply cannot live with. She is an ENTJ.
    She made my life miserable!
I LOVE her to death! She is an amazing person!
She was in charge of me and I would literally develop an eye twitch when I would live with her.
I was trying to figure out whether she was an ESTJ or an ENTJ.
The Ns are good at thinking outside the box. The problem is they don’t always use logic when they should and don’t see that.
There was a time when I went were living with them. I was working in the kitchen. She was gone. I put a classical music station on. She came home. She was furious that I had put a classical music station on! That was the amount of control she needed to have. This one of tons of examples to this. I knew it wasn’t working out. She kept begging us to stay. The way she wanted it to stay was the way it had always been… me not be myself. I was a missionary. I have lived with tons of people. She is the only person I could not live with. She was extremely opinionated about things that, to me simply weren’t worth having an opinion of. I love her to death…but she was killing me. I am looking forward to heaven where things will be good with her being the I believe she could have been but she is blind to her faults… like the rest of us

Hello, I'm loving your vids. May I ask a video for ESTP vs ENTJ? I know one is Te dom and the other has Ti in aux but I still have confusion about myself, I don't get If Im actually an ENTJ mistyped as ESTP because I'm SLE in socionics or just an ESTP who permantly thinks future (not that far, but still I rarely live full in the present)

For the ESTJ that wants to learn how to channel an ENTJ vibe, you have to let go of what is around you and stay in your head. It’s about being comfortable in there, and just exclusively reflect about lot of different things but nothing that has a direct bearing on your life and near future, and fully embrace the notion that knowledge is not a means to an end but its own purpose.

If you’re confused it’s likely you don’t have Ni as a hero or auxiliary function like an ENTJ does.
