When editing individual documents or using the macro to export to Word, some have found that the images disappear. This is not an issue when merging to PDF. The above issue occurs with 365 users. If you are experiencing this issue and you need to merge to Word documents instead of PDF then use this syntax: {includepicture "{if equal {mergefield image}}"} The above syntax and solution is credited to users that have left this solution in the comments.
Hi, I can not get either way to show pictures. It merges when I run the macro with the above syntax in the picture text box but neither word or pdf show the pictures. Pulling my hair out now as I thought I was doing ever so well
I had quite a few challenges, but those were my own. This tutorial in the end worked for me. My project consisted of 5500 vouchers with numbers, but also pre-sized (1in width) brand logos as well as individual pre-sized (1in width) barcodes for each. Without this tutorial, this would have been a nightmare. Thanks again.
Thanks for this video, it pointed me in the right direction. In my version of office 365, I need to modify to reflect it as {INCLUDEPICTURE "{ IF EQUAL }" } for it to work.
Thank you for this excellent tutorial! I encountered an issue where images disappear in the final output when using the macro or 'Edit Individual Documents' option. However, I found that printing directly to PDF preserves the images correctly. Are you familiar with this behavior, and is there a way to maintain images while creating separate documents? Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
I am glad you found the tutorial useful. Yes i did find issues with the word document which were not issues when creating the PDF documents but cant remember exactly what the issues were. Did not put to much effort into resolving the issue as i simply modified my document template the way i wanted the final output to be and merged. It is only an issue if yo want to modify one or some of the merged documents individually which was never an issue for me so did not dig deeper.

Great video Nicos. I've been struggling with the INCLUDEPICTURE function since I switched from doc file to docx or docm. I followed your procedure verbatim and it's still not working. You will need to use Merge Tools which you can download for free. It will allow you to email all recipients and you can attach files providing your data source contains a column with the file path for each file.
