    We think about moving to Colorado Springs
    What neighborhood has a mature 🌳tree-line not too much snow close to the air force base.?

    • @Explore.ColoradoSprings
      @Explore.ColoradoSprings  3 года назад +1

      Honestly the more north you go, closer to the air force base, the more snow you get than the west side/downtown/south CoSprings area. That said, they do a pretty good job of plowing and it tends to melt off quickly! For neighborhoods with mature trees I would suggest checking out Rockrimmon or Northgate! We have a video called Top 5 Neighborhoods which features both if you'd like to check them out (:

    To be fair yes it’s nice to see pikes Peak and that’s it when you move here each realtor says the same thing great views of pikes Peak. Yep the houses are out rages in price!!! If anyone were to ask me where people should live I would say Oklahoma City it’s come a long way!!
    For some that would say I should move there well I lived there for 18 years but with basketball it’s come a long way.

    Moving there soon. I experienced a little sticker shock, moving from NE Washington State, but it's not anywhere near as expensive as Seattle. As I have visited relatives in Colorado Springs, it is so refreshing compared to Seattle and other areas here. I love the outdoorsy feel and the climate.

    • @Explore.ColoradoSprings
      @Explore.ColoradoSprings  3 года назад +1

      There can be 😔 We haven't had many this year but last year we broke records. 2012 was the Waldo Canyon Fire which actually got super close to Colorado Springs, you could see flames from the city. They don't typically get THAT close but it's not unusual to experience some smokey air over summer.

    I’ve lived in Colorado Springs for decades and am looking at moving elsewhere due to the following: 1) High crime rate, including significant violent crime; 2) High illegal population and it’s adverse impact on education and other services; 3) Although approximately 20 miles to the foothills/mtns, it can take hours to get there due to insane traffic volume; 4) Urban blight/decay - as the city spreads out and grows, neighborhoods that aren’t all that old have become run down. There’s a lot of this; 5) Cost of living and taxes - or fees substituted for taxes since Colorado has limitations on taxes. Don’t be fooled - governments, including this city and county have an insatiable appetite for spending, and they’ve gotten very creative with work arounds; 6) Legalized marijuana in Colorado. This has brought a host of unintended consequences; 7) High # of military and retired military. These are not like “the greatest generation” who served God and country. Much of the military is like a welfare state, though those who serve don’t see it that way because they’re coddled by politicians, the press, etc.
    Colorado, and Colorado Springs, aren’t “going” the way of California, they’re there.

      Agree. But any place that legalized drugs, should expect these issues.
