I think the reason so many people can relate to the Bee Gees is because of what they said pertaining to their music? They said that they don't write love songs, they put music to emotions, which is something that anyone still breathing has. They also said that they don't try to write songs directed at any single group of people, they write songs and put them out there and let the person listening to it take from it what they feel. I can't think of a better explanation of how to describe their music. They didn't fit into any genre of music, they were their own ;)

A beautiful song from "This Is Where I Came In." Yes, those lyrics are just so heart felt. A&E did these "Live By Request" concerts and this is from 2001. They wanted them to be interactive and you could email or phone in requests. Brothers gotta have some game for that. We are all with you Chad, get on outta there to see your grandmother. I don't know that there was any band in history that had to deal with the negative publicity that they did. Yet they did not let that destroy them. If anything it caused them to prove everyone wrong. They are outstanding musicians and songwriters.

One of the last great performances, they did. TIWICI is a wonderful album, full of perfect songs. And Chad, my granny (died 1976, aged 86) once said to me and I'll never forget that: "Peter, one thing you must know, life is one of the hardest". She had 12 children, lost her first man in worldwar one, lost 2 sons in worldwar two, worked as long as she could on their lil farm. Never did any harm to others and I deeply felt her love. Hope you're the same with yours.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother Chad. Lost my Mom at 94 last September. She had a great quality of life, despise dementia for the last 3 or 4, until diagnosed with colon cancer. She came down with pneumonia last August, often happens near the end. She always loved the Bee Gees too.
First, prayers for your grandmother. Having just lost my mother last week from pneumonia, I empathize. That song was great. In a way, it seemed the chorus didn’t go with the verses, but they’re The Bee Gees - they make it work.
