Please name the two primary contributors of this soundtrack in the credits at the end of the film -- Stanley Robertson of Aberdeen (1940-2009) and Duncan Williamson of Argyll (1928-2007). They are two of Scotland's greatest tradition bearers of our time. And they should be honoured with all due respect for their knowledge, art, communication and humanity.
The Travelers should pick a weekend out of the year and hold a world get together for all original Traveler and Romani clan's. Something like the native Americans do.Their get togethers are magical. something like this would preserve a lot of their heritage. ✊☘️
Very impressive. They are so wise and verbally eloquent. The story of that very intelligent man being beaten up at school every day was awful. But he still managed to educate himself. And the women were so independent.
My great grandmother was (Elise i think) Robertson from Scotland and I found out I have romani DNA recently is this are family haven't been able to find are traveller side of the family
There are Scottish Romanichal peoples. However, this is not about them. This is about the Scottish Travellers who are a nomadic group, somewhat similar to the Romany, except Travellers are an indigenous people of Scotland. You would know this if you actually watched the video, as it says near the end that they recognized as the only indigenous group of Scotland.
Nobody was saying Romanichal Gypsies are Scottish it's not just the Romani's that were nomadic there are native Irish and Scottish nomadic travellers and this video is about them.
Brilliant, inspiring and humbling.

I agree. They are due respect.

It's not all love and joy to be sure, There's suffer ing as well. But nostalgia softens the memories.
My father farmed at Crail and as young lad remember these people arriving each year to pick potatoes. I think they came from the Dundee area. 1960s

One of my great great grandfather was a Stewart and a tinsmith.
Good people
I do remember a tinsmith working near our house in rural midlands Ireland in the 1950s. Do the Scottish travelers have their own cant?
I am a traveller man and proud of my past.
Powerful history
I love this
So do I ❤
I love this and somewhere running through my blood. ❤
Thats still the same today. Country folk don't have the same prejudices. They have to worry about living and surviving
Do you take on any work with Scottish travellers and them building private sites? Thanks
