Whoever wants to know which temple this is: It is the Daisho-in Temple on the Island of Miyajima (in the bay of Hiroshima; just past the Itsukushima shrine at the foot of Mt. Misen). One of the most beautiful temples I ever visited in Japan.

I just realized that I haven't heard a rain without the noise of traffic in twenty-odd years. Kind of sad. Everywhere you go now, there are traffic and people. Can't seem to escape them. If I found myself at this temple, I would probably spend the entire day if they would let me just enjoying the peace.

@@NotSoCrazyNinja how? Maybe a passing car, or a distant carriage noise probably, but for thw most part, it should be fairly quiet.
There’s something so peaceful about Japanese temples and rain, it’s soothing and relaxing. Spending even an hour here would ease my mind.

The rain hitting the bells is what does it for me.
Not a bell. It's a suikinjutsu, an upside down pot with a hole in the botrtom (now the top) into which rain falls and makes a nice sound. I've seen these at temples in Kyoto. Sometimes the pots are buried part way into the ground. You can make one for your yard at home!
Im amazed the bells in the backgtound haven't been turned into a beat. That rhythm is sick.
I just want to sit still and do nothing at this place. Just rest for a while.. im so tired..

This is my absolute favorite video to put on as I meditate. I know this will sound like some hippy dippy stuff, but as I meditate, I feel like the deep bell sound that occurs every so often tells me when I’m on the right track as I’m meditating.

*Interesting and strange rules (current and past) on the island where this temple is located* (Itsukushima [厳島])
Hide your period
Women having their period were expected to seclude themselves in a hut.
No giving birth
Mothers close to the due date were taken off the island. After a cleansing period of 100 days, the mother was permitted to return.
No dying
If you should be unfortunate enough to kick the bucket on the island, you will be quickly ferried off to Miyajimaguchi.
No mourning
Relatives of a deceased individual left for Miyajimaguchi and were unable to return until mourning was completed.
No cultivating crops
The use of farming equipment to sully the soil (the body of the goddess) was prohibited. As a result, the town of Hatsukaichi became the marketplace for the island.
No weaving
This was a taboo. It was considered a symbol of women's work. Doing women's work in the presence of a goddess was considered a problem.
No cutting trees
As far as I know, cutting trees for lumber is still unpermitted on the island.

there was a video called "tokyo tea room ambience" on this channel and it was the only thing made me sleep. i swear i have been looking for it for months. i beg you to upload it again, please for the sake of my mental health upload it again
Bad news - this is one of the videos that I had to delete in pursuit of getting my channel remonetized, and it doesn't appear that I saved it anywhere else. As I recall, it used pipe music that was actually Native American in origin. A big blunder on my part, but one that might help you replicate its effects if you mix with a different tea room ambience?
