  • Bayinbuluke is a national key protected wetland in China. Bayinbuluke National Nature Reserve is one of the components of China's World Natural Heritage "Xinjiang Tianshan". It is located in the mountain basin in the northwest of Hejing County, Bayinguoleng Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang, and the middle of the Tianshan Mountains. It is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and National Highway 217 passes through it. It is 363 kilometers away from Korla City. It consists of two high-altitude mountain basins, Dazhuletus and Xiaozhuletus, and mountain hilly grasslands. The grassland is 270 kilometers long from east to west and 136 kilometers wide from north to south. The total area is 23,835 square kilometers, and the usable grassland area is 20,519 square kilometers. The average altitude is between 1,500 meters and 2,500 meters. The surrounding mountains are all above 3,000 meters above sea level. It is a typical alpine grassland grassland, alpine meadow grassland, alpine swamp grassland and mountain meadow grassland. The vast grassland is like a huge green carpet, covering the entire earth. The grassland is flat and rich in water and grass. It is a typical grass meadow grassland and one of the most important animal husbandry bases in Xinjiang.
Bayinbuluke Grassland is located in the intermountain basin of the Tianshan uplift zone and belongs to the Mesozoic intermountain fault depression. The bottom of the basin is covered by Quaternary sediments. It is a natural scenic spot integrating mountains, basins and grasslands. The grassland water supply is mainly a mixture of meltwater and rainfall. Some areas have groundwater supply, forming a large number of swamp grasslands and lakes. Bayinbuluke Grassland has a total of 13 springs of various sizes, 7 lakes, and 20 rivers. The Erbin Mountain in the middle of the grassland stretches 170 kilometers from east to west and is about 50 kilometers wide from north to south, dividing the Bayinbuluke Grassland into two, forming two basins. More than a thousand springs are distributed throughout the grassland, and together with the meltwater from ice and snow, they form the mother river of Bayingol Prefecture, the Kaidu River. The ancient Kaidu River runs between the two basins, forming large and small oxbow lakes and swamp wetlands on the grassland.
