Condition is everything on a coin like this. The one that brought two million is likely the best known example. And the guy willing to pay two million already has one. If another would come to market it is in likely to bring as much, especially if it is a lesser grade. So yea, Harrison is taking all the risk, with the possibility of a large payday.
I'm not sure why it's told to look for coins worth 2 million in your pocket change, Just look for cool coins worth a little more than face value, It's always nice to find one.
If some of them are in circulation you could. You most likely won't though since most of the ones that are unaccounted for are likely sitting in a garbage dump somewhere. lol

They'll pay 10k just to be able to examine it to determine it's authenticity and see if they can establish provenance. This not only benefits the coin owner, but also effects the pricing and history of the other known examples of the coin. The story and rarity of a coin is worth millions sometimes.
I have a quarter that was minted in 1897. It was the oldest one I have ever found (Still have it in a case). In case anyone's wondering, I'm a coin collector.
I just went through my grandmas purse, I didn't find the dime but I did find 40 bucks which was pretty sweet so at least it was not a total waste of my time.
found a dime collection in old boxes (mercury head dimes 1916-1945.) Many barber dimes included. Also 1916/ 1926..also collections of quarters, pennies, nickels.... love to find this type of thing!
I wanna know the history behind that!! Did some heir liquidate their deceased relatives coin collection? Actually that's been known to happen. You get idiots who sell off their inheritance without understanding the value of what they have. I've seen 12 dozen rolls of silver halves rolled and brought to the bank(if youtube is to be believed) to be exchanged for the legal tender value only. Obviously some poor smucks collection.
I have a half Dollar Morgan that never went into circulation, it is made of copper, it has a very beautiful patina which indicates that it is one of those that never came out to see the light of day, the only thing I know is that there are only Two of this coin
I found a 1868 S quarter. Well...not really found it but bought one for a really good price I'd like to put up for auction. There was 80,000 of these minted though but still rare.
It's cool that they're telling people to search through old change, but you have to remember, there's more dimes on this Earth than people. Finding this specific one is like meeting Lorde at your local bar.
It is silly to ask why someone would buy this coin. Extremely rare and valuable coins are great investments. They increase in value whether the economy is good or bad. If you buy it for $2 million, and sell it in ten years for $4 million, you've come out ahead even after factoring in inflation and paying capital gains tax. Plus, it's just a fuckin' cool thing to have. 999,999 out of a million people dream of owning a coin like this and know that they never will.
I have a Roosevelt dime that has no mint mark or date on it on the back side there's double lettering and the edges are smooth like a penny what would be the value of this dime
My father has one,but doesn't want to give us our grandfather's his father coin collection. My father is old school doesn't speak a lot English and I guess he doesn't care. I have been trying to get him to give me the collection, but I have two brothers and a sister. He doesn't even show us the coins very much. He also has a rare V nickel and a rare Dollar coin. I will call the auction to see if they can convince him to show them the coins.
My name is Luis Martinez I do have the 1894 dime that's locked up at the bank at the safe I won't find out tomorrow if it's the s or the f I bought it back in 1996
When buyers of these types of items stay anonymous its explained by evil and greed.. They dont want anyone to know they bought a $2,000,000.00 coin, and then evicted your grandmother for being 2 weeks late on her 500$/month rent. Its a judgement thing.
I have. But I only found one in my change in my entire life. Probably some crackhead rifled someone's coin collection and then just spent it at a convenience store. Plus it was a common-date Barber and was worn flat.

Be orginal in your pawn star jokes
That dime being in your change is as likely as somebody accidentally handing you a one ounce gold coin instead of a quarter
chances are probably 15/100,000,000,000,000,000
CHAMPbastien Reduce your fraction and explain your answer
That’s happened to me like 5 times before smh
So about the same chances of me finding a girlfriend

Makes me wonder what the most expensive coin I’ve ever had and didn’t even know it
LOOKS LIKE THE DIME I GAVE TO MAKE A COPY OF SOMETHING STUPID FOR A JOB ABOUT THREE YEARS AGO
My brother recently found an 1866 3-cent coin in a coinstar reject slot.

If it was on pawn stars best Rick could do is 10 cents. He would be taking a risk.
The odds of you finding that in your car is like winning the lottery 3 times in a row good luck
If you find an 1894s dime in ur couch that’s like winning the lottery 100 times in a row

of course the buyer is going to remain quiet. With that kind of money, I would go into hiding,, lol
1995 Penny On Dime Planchet is look like ROLEX vs all the TIMEX common doubled denomination 11c piece! Big Differences.
Only 24 exist. I collect barber dimes but I know im never getting this one. My collection book even has a piece of cork in it's place that says "RARE"
Luckiest I've been was when I was given three Merc dimes back as change.. and turned them into thirty bucks..
they must have been in good shape to get $30 back
