My daughter continually having ac probs in her Apt so I sent her your link, which is full of valuable info, hoping that she will find answers that maintenance men are baffled about… thank you so much!!!! ❤️
I am a building contractor in California. No I'm not one of those crazies that scare the crap out of the normal minded people. Your approach and honesty is commendable. I especially like the statement that you do not know everything about everything but meet those who claim too everyday. LOL yea I meet them too. Your references to possible conditions and solutions is commendable as every situation is different even down to how that customer perceives it to be. Good luck out there. Great video. Found you while getting the This bedroom is Hot warning from my wife. My system is new , High efficiency Attic mounted and ducted system oversized for the home. Hot Wife is great as long as it's not a room temperature issue ! LOL.
I have a One level Rancher. Bought new, but the house was always hot and especially one room that the sun hits all day. Had the original A/C company come back out to balance it. What a Big Difference.
My property management sent a tech the second time around and that tech said there's doors to each area of the vents for the rooms. He said he just had to open it. When he opened it the room adjacent to the room not getting adequate air flow blew super hard but the problem room did not. The HVAC system is in the attic just above that room. He claims it was blowing a little better. Ironically my daughter has a dream catcher right above that vent and it's barely blowing still. He wanted to keep the other room vent open and let it get cold but I told him that's not the problem room. He told my mgmt that it was because of a dirty filter. When we change the filter every 3-4 weeks when it says it is supposed to last 3mo. Besides if the filter was the issue for that one room why is the rest of the house ice cold? The first tech told us to close the other vents to help push the air through that one room that didn't work either. And we did and it's still cold everywhere else in the house even closed. Not to mention the thermostat reads 77° and we have it set on 70° ... I understand it's hotter upstairs but the other three rooms upstairs are cold.
I added insulation in the attic, upgraded window screens, and summer curtains, along with a good ceiling fan. This makes a big difference when the room is darkened in the Arizona Heat. Now about to replace my 13 year old Trane with a Goodman 5 ton, 14 Seer. Thank you for your reviews with Goodman!
I have a room hot in summer super cold on winter u right not matter what's if hvac system is new or old i fix problem my self bcz developers cut corners not installing insulation on exterior attic wall and window wintout proper insulation seal that keeps problems year long
for two story just get a stat with circ. when heating humidity wont be a problem cooling it can be but weigh it out be hot or if you have a stat that can control it circ is the fix
Hey man I have that problem in my house, sometimes the air will not cool a bedroom but the whole house is cool, and then all of a sudden the bedroom is colder than Alaska. I don’t know why this keeps happening…
I have one bedroom with this issue. I suspect the insulation and duct work wasn't replaced correctly. It juat seems like there is not the same airflow from that vent as ir was before. The other that has the issue is a relatively large room. When this home was first built they were going to make this room garage, but they decide to make it a den and put an office in front of it. Someone once suggested i have two systems. I don't really find that necessary in a one-story.
All our vents work great except all of a sudden the vent in the living room just isn’t blowing cold air anymore. So we set the thermostat at 73 and it stays 78/79 in the house ( except for early morning it will reach desired temperature for just a bit ) I don’t understand what is happening here !!!
Man I have a 2 story home with 2 units , the downstairs unit keeps the temp at 74° all day. The upstairs though reaches 80° all day while set at 74° at night we put it at 72° but doesn't reach that temp till 3 am. An a/c tech came, changed the thermostat, recharged the system for $450 and the problem continues
I'm about to watch this video in a few minutes. My issue is that every vent in the house blows super strong except the 2 inside of our bedroom. I'm really hoping that's what you're discussing. I learned how to change the contactor and capacitor after ants cause me to spend $150 individually for 3 years straight lol. Hopefully this is an easy fix too.
I have the same problem did you get yours figured out? I didn’t quite grasp the solution in this video other than to make sure that I have 2 units Which I do and then possibly look for holes in the insulation. I’m interested to know if you found something that made sense for the situation
@@alyssakeller7720 nothing. It’s weird though. Sometimes it blows but it’s not with force. Sometimes we get absolutely nothing. My wife said that it could be the duct work but I’m not paying someone to come look at it lol. We just turn on a fan and roll with it, especially at night
This is the issue in our home we rent. The property management sent two techs out, we noticed the hose in the system was detached. The first tech came out to connect it and said our hoses are bent. Then he came again said we needed more installation and the windows were old. the air still isn't blowing as strongly to that one room even after fixing the bent hose. The second tech came and said there's a door to each vent and the one to that room was closed so he opened it and just very little air started coming through but the other room adjacent to that one was blowing super hard. Had the nerve to tell us one thing but told property management our filters were dirty and needed to be changed. No not the issue because we change these 3mo filters like every 3-4weeks and still no air. We bought a fans for that room and my daughter just deals. But we're wondering what's going to happen in the winter if not resolved.
I moved into my apt few weeks ago only the living room gets really cold while the bedrooms are hot maintenance told me get window units cuz it’s nothing they can do due to being upstairs
closing dampers will not push more air elsewhere . it works under a static pressure and the ducts will carry what they will and closing some makes no change to other rooms
It definitely adds static pressure. However, I think you’re mistaken. Take a cfm meter to a vent and take a reading. Then close all your other vents and take it again. It will be higher
I did have a new ac installed last year at the end of the summer. The HVAC guy dropped us from a 5 ton to a 4 ton and installed a new duct to a bedroom that is hot (about 20ft) . Now it seems to take 30-45 min to drop 1°. How likely is it my ducts are oversized now? Thanks, learning a lot from your channel.
when I moved into my home all the house was Kool. 11 yrs later only living room is Cold. and air flows lightly in rooms but blasting in the living room. I'm thinking of replacing everything!
i have two bed room in one side of my hose that one room perfectly gets cool down by my a/c system but other room next to it the same size not getting cold the same on those over 100 days which after noon sun directly shine in to the those rooms. i had dumper installed which help a let bit but cut air from other area which i don't like . but what i found out later on is that after noon when sun directly shine on those bed rooms which makes rooms much hotter then opposite side house the room that not getting cold has stone finishing out side which when you touch stone finishing it is much hotter then room next to it that has wood finishing outside .so stone makes outside wall of that room much hotter then room next to it which causing hotter inside room .
I been hearing some critters scratching on top of my ceiling. Is there any way a mouse, or some other animal ripped open something in the attic? I found a mouse in the house a year ago. Till this day I have no idea how it got in the house. My room gets hot as hell compared to the other rooms. It gets so bad in the summer that I can't even feel the air coming out of the vent.

you do not have enough air moving registers get to cold and sweat. raise blower speed ,put fan to the on position (the fan thing will raise humidity some) but will help even things out but you must get more air moving. try to add a return upstairs or somehow blow the heat downstairs
